:D :)
The first word of Japanese that I learnt was them most polite one

"GOMENASAI"
I hope the spelling"s right. ^_^'

what was ur first japanese word that u learnt?( pls wright the meaning)

Mine was, "Hajimemashite". I think it means "I'm meeting you for the first time,or something like that, seeing as there can be no direct translation to some of the words in Japanese".Was taking tutorials after watchin' my very first Anime,Love Hina.

... I'm moving this thread to the "School and work" category >_>

But my first word in Japanese was "konnichi wa" and I've grown to know a lot lot lot more than that ^_^'

PS it means hello or rather, good day... after noon. Before noon it's ohayo and after afternoon it's konban wa >_>

My first Japanese word was "Hai" which means Yes. ^^

TOYOTA

probably Arigato

The fist word I learned was "Ookami" which is wolf if you are to know. :)

konnichi wa cos my family goes to jap restaurants.

then came the "baka" XD

First word would be "Baka" for me

First Japanese word....

I think the first japanese word I learned was

"Ohayoo gozaimasu" = "Good Morning"

The japanese word "Baka" means idiot right?

The first Japanese word I learns was Anime of course then it was Yuki=Snow, Haru=Spring, Kakashi=Scarecrow, Ayame=Iris, Reimai-suki=My little sister-love, Maoni=Pure demon Tenrai Shi=Divine Oder, Migoto=beautiful, Chigiri=Destiny. I have others but I'll let some people post. ;)

For me it was kawaii = cute.

Yes, baka = idiot

Translation of typical anime sentence from fate/stay night episode 20:

Rin: "watashi... anata-tachi no koto, suki yo."

= Rin: "I... you guys' things, like!" (literally)

= Rin: "I like you guys." (what the subs will say)

Mine was Daisuki :P I was reading DN Angel when With said that instead of Daisuke...

I was watching Chobits in Japanese and the 1st word i learned was:
(drum roll) pantsu = panties - lol
For those who know the show, Chii had to buy herself some and repeated the word throughout the entire episode. How can i not memorize it!?- lol

My favorite word was kawaii. It's the most common Japanese word I see around too.

Arigato and konichiwa would be the first jap words i've learned :) .

Mine was "Bonsai". It means "Hurray".

i think the first one i learned was baka

arigato

arigato for the 80's song -> Domo Arigato Mr. Roboto -_-' *lol*

~lunagata~

konichiwa First one I known! Thats all i know.. :(

my first word was hmm... i think Konichi wa ..lol

I don't have a clue.

Come on, there are japanese words that are used in my native tongue - and in english too- : sushi, samurai, tsunami, kamikaze, karaoke (isn't it ?), bonzai, karate, judo, hara-kiri, kimono, sashimi...

How can I know for sure what's the first japanese word I have learnt ? I'm a bit surprised that some of you know it.

k well i learned two words from watching bleach...eek, here it goes:
"hye"-meaning "yes"
"k'sais"(spelling's way off)-meaning "damn"

there's a couple of others but i can't remember what they translate into...
