BoA = a very famous kpop, jpop singer
Slipknot = a metal band that screams but they do sing. They also have really really solid riffs too which really emphasizes the mood. (I sincerely apologize for the misconception guys, really am and I really didnt want to insult Slipknot this way.)

Progressive rock, the kinda music which tends to removes itself from the limitations of the radio rock and pop. This allows progressive rock artists to "progress" rock to a certain point of sophistication. Eq : Rush, Hawkwind, Focus, Yes, Jethro Tull, just as described by Alistair, thanks a lot.

This is because I was too musically "blind", I have forgotten to add another 2 options for the poll which are Progressive, Power or Melodic Metal (for instance : dream theather) and Neo-classical (eq: yngwie malmsteen). Due to this blunder, I am sry for this inconvinience. I regret not doing any deeper research in music, causing trouble and for some, insulting them greatly. All I know about music is just to play, and hear it, just that much.

Once again, I am deeply sorry for my stupidity. I assure you, the next time I make a poll like this, this mistake shall not repeat.

the way the poll options are not related in any way keeps surprising me. If I made one as per these examples, it would look like this:

See how they're completely unrelated and as such don't really make up a good poll? Because that's what this thread is like.

I'd like to vote for progressive rock because 70's prog bands actually sounded like something, but you seem to have an embarrassing misconception even in there.

To say Slipknot is nothing but a heavy metal band with nothing but screaming in their songs is a false representation of their music.. Not all their songs have screaming case in point their Vol.3 (The Subliminal Versus) cd. There are few if any songs on that cd with screaming.

Aside from that I don't see how you can really compare the two since they come from different music genres.

*Cough* Actually, Progressive Rock is not all "Insturmental" and Dream Theater dosen't even come close to it. They are "Progressive, Power, or Melodic Metal" I would say. No, no, no you didn't offend me at all, and your not blind. Music is a constant changing thing, IMO. Shouldn't be labled AT ALL, but humans need it order to explain things sadly. I just thought clear up a few things, have a learning experiance for all. People always CHANGE different styles to reflect their needs, since there is no right or wrong answer.

So don't worry about it. There is ALOT of things I don't know yet, musically. =P

actually, to be honest, maybe it's just me, but I prefer dream theather without its vocalist, u know, Liquid Tension Experiment .... im really not sure what others think of the vocalist.
