"Oh Hell no" was my first reaction because there are some really
wacked out names out there. But upon thinking more about it, there are some
decent-sounding (and even awesome!) names too, so, um, can I sit on the fence
for this one? Besides, I don't want to think about having kids yet!
ahaha, i used think 'yeah, i should name my kid....' and all that, but in truth,
i was planning on much original and creative names since it would be odd to have
a kid with a japanese name when they're really chinese. x.x
Not that i'm planning to have children in the near future but I have to admit
that I do like some of the names that I have heard during my anime wanderings.
Although I wouldn't even think about labeling a poor child with the name because
of a specific character, there are names that I do like regardless of the
characters they were on. But more then likely I would give the names to my pets
- not my children.
Lol no O.o, but i gotta admit that some names are really nice and i could give
them to my kids but not because i like the guy/girl, more like cuz its a nice
name.
At first I considered calling my future child after an anime character, but
these names are really strange for my country and I think that people would
always stare at him or her because of his/hers name....So I guess I'll go with
traditional names...
Depends on the character. Naming a kid Al(phonse) or Ed(ward) wouldn't be
noticable. Naming a kid Kenshin or Ichigo? Might be acceptable IN JAPAN, but I
wouldn't do it stateside.
Sure, there are some really cool Japanese names that one could choose, much
better than a few I can just think of off hand. But I don't think I'd name a kid
after a character I though was cool, it would be because it was a cool name to
begin with.
oh maybe...most likely YES! haha i
mean...some anime names are quite cool...i don't mind naming my kids KYO or
RUKIA...but of course i won't name my kid INUYASHA...it's just too
weird!

Being a true Star Wars fan I named my son Anakin. Seeing as how I won't have
anymore kids, I doubt that there will be further naming them. Many moons ago
there was an Anime called Galaxy Rangers and there was a character named Nicole
- she was so gorgeous! Needless to say my daughter is called Jade Nicole.
welll taht would be so damn cool. I would name them after characters of a book
(im no bookworm... the fantasy names just sound so cool). Im planning on a
japanese kid or kikds and wife so yeah japanese names are alright.
I thought about this for a while, not sure if it'd be good or bad. On one hand
he/she would potentially have a way cool name, but then again, I'd imagine
they'd have a tough time with some of the kids at school. Still, it is just a
word, my girlfriend's sister is called Yonnica, her mum liked Monica, just
replaced the 'M', everyone calls her Yonny and she seems quite happy with a made
up name. I thought it sounded quite cool too.
I guess calling you're kid Totoro or Belldandy might be a bit too much for them,
but names like Ryu, Tenchi, Sakura are okay, they're normal names in Japan, they
still mean something.
You could be really mean and give them a double barrelled anime name like
Lupin-Jing, or Urd-Sakura
Maybe, maybe not. When I find a norse anime/game I'll let you know. There's
Valkyrie Profile, but those are taken from the actual religious poems anyway.
I guess I'll just stick to using Medieval: Total War as a random name generator.
Hey, worked for my cats.
How's Sorine Eight-fingers sound?
(whoops, non-ascii board apparently, damn.)
me too! that's what i'm gonna name a girl. as for a boy...well... i dunno

yes i will maybe Eiji or Ryoma
for a Girl Hanon or Momoko

uhm, if the anime name is cool enough, then i'll choose it! Hi. Why not?
It's kinda cute, isn't it? True
no.
HELL NO! Thats like something I would do for a dog.
I have to agree with you. They're just so interesting names!

No...definately....! Children should have normal names! You can name your cat or dog after a character! :P
Oh man no way in hell.

Well~ yeah, probably would. ^-^ As some names are quite nice too.

well I think that it depends.
If it were a girl I will put Kari, Sakura, Hotaru or Mireille
If it were a boy I will put Kai or Fye ( Oh my good! Kurogane not of course
, the
child will kill me when he were allowed)
oh maybe...most likely YES! haha

Of course not! I think I owns my future kids a decent name with more history and backgroung to it than just "it was myy favorite character"
