Quote by bwebBeing gay doesn't make you
special, and it doesn't entitle you to alter society to fit your lifestyle.
You're not some ethnic group that is being treated badly due to stereotypes.
You're a group of people who are either choosing to engage in abberrant
behavior, or you've been genetically selected to engage in sexual relations with
your own gender, thus ensuring that you can't breed and pass on your genes.
I am sick and tired of the gay community trying to push their agenda. I'm tired
of them comparing themselves to oppressed minorities to try and drive home their
cause. They're not a race of people. And I'm tired of them trying to use movies
and television to try to normalize their
abnormality.
"Being gay doesnt make you special"
"Im tired of them trying to use movies and television to try to normalize
their abnormality."
Ee... man, the first thing you said says that "everybody are equal"
(something like that. Gays are persons, just like everybody else). But I cant
really agree with you on the second one. "Im tired of them trying to use
movies and television to try to normalize their abnormality". They are
still persons like us, why cant they do movies and use television like everybody
else? The only difference here is that they are gay and they are watching
something different or creating something that most people cant agree with. I am
not bothered with gay movies or television, just try to accept that their
feelings are love to each other, just like everybody else!
"I'm tired of them comparing themselves to oppressed minorities to try and
drive home their cause."
Im getting pretty tired of you soon .
Everybody are comparing themselves about something. I cant really come up with
an example, but those who doesnt like their own sex have compared themselves in
many ways. And gays only takes up a "mere" ten precent of the
popluance, they got quite much reason to compare themselves to the other 90%.
Man I would laugh my ass off if you tried to think in their shoes. Do you know
how it feels being gay and discriminated by others? There are quite many persons
that could discriminate gays, because we are 90% who can. But everybody are not
discriminating. I have no idea how it feels being gay, and I cant really tell
how they feel, but if they are discriminated quite often it must be really
tiresome. They got a reason to think that they are a oppresed minority.
"Being gay doesn't make you special, and it doesn't entitle you to alter
society to fit your lifestyle."
Oh my god, what are you talking about?! It doesnt matter how you are, the
humanity have always tried to alter society to fit persons lifestyles! It doesnt
matter if you are gay or lesbian. They are a part of the human race, and why
cant we alter our society so it fits them too? What big difference will it be in
our social structure if we try to satisfy gays and lesbians? They are human
dammit.

I could care less if they could marry or not as long as they stay far away from

that good enough?

Well marriage brings two things: official recognition of the couple and
benefits, like cheaper taxes.
You know it's really inevitable the dominios have already began to fall, and we
will go soon. Marriage will become between homosexuals not just heterosexuals,
Spain has it, Scandinavian Cities have it, Amsterdam hads i, England has civil
Unions, and Canada has declared it will as well soon.
On top of this the reasoning whats to stop from other forms of marriage is
ubsurd, look theres a huge differece between two adults and and any other form
of marriage so i don't want to hear well they might start to marry rocks or
somethiing, thats such a lame defense.

Thats just really dumb. Does is really matter whether other people see you as a
real couple or not? I mean like as long as you and ur partner reconize
yourselves as a couple what else does it matter. Its not like they can send you
to jail for saying that u guys are a couple. Also you don't need marriage to be
a "real" couple. I mean as long as u two are together u are a
"real" couple.

Ah, but you're quite mistaken. Or is this a deliberate attempt to minimalize me
by labeling me as "inflexible"?
The fact of the matter is that I can change my mind, and suitably reasonable
arguements can alter my opinion.
None of you who are pro-gay marriage have presented any such arguements. You all
say the same things:
"They love each other." Yes, well, pedophiles "love"
children, but we don't allow that either. Some family members who are grown,
like brothers and sisters "love" each other, but we frown on that,
too. Love is not enough of a justification.
"They are equal." Equality means they have the right to speak when
they want, eat where they want, pay taxes like the rest of us, and die and get
buried like everyone else. Equality has nothing to do with marriage. In point of
fact, given certain tax laws, social status, and the benefits of some hotel
chains allowing your children to stay for free, marriage is all about a lack of
equality.
I'm not inflexible at all. A few short years ago, I was perfectly indifferent to
the concept of gay marriage. I didn't care who married who, just so long as it
didn't interfere with my own social activities.
My mind was changed. The gay community changed it when the Supreme Court of
Massechusetts changed the law AGAINST the will of the people, which is what this
nation is supposed to be based on. I have ever been against legislation from the
bench, and so long as the laws don't come from a mandate from the people, they
are blights to the will of our founding fathers.
No pedophiles do not love children, they love to moleste them it is also
considered a pyciatric disorder under the APA, unlike Homoseuality. Well you
know 85% of users of AOL Trust the USA Judicary over the other two branches.
Let 'em do what they want. I'm all for equal rights to all. Sure, it may be
"unnatural," but what's the big deal? All I ever hear is people
complaining about,"Oh, they shouldn't be able to do that! It's just not
right!" Just shut your pie hole. Nobody wants to listen to you bitch about
it. All I'm saying is let 'em do what they want, just get everyone to shut up
about it and don't tell me what they're doing in their "personal
time."

I say it should be legal. People have a right to interact and eventually love
with different people, no matter what race or sex they might be. The banning of
homosexual relationships is just ridiculous. :|
well homosexual marriage doesnt necessarily harm anyone and it isnt super
illegal as in some drugs. I have to be in favor of it since it is no harm to
anyone. Just because they are homosexual doenst mean they do wrong anything to
society. (this is a issue that many people think is going to happen with same
sex marriage in my opinion)
I think gay marriage should be legal everywhere. if gay or les couple are so in
love and wish to get married then let them be. it pisses me off how people
complain about it without even knowing the people that are getting married or
wanting to get married. there fore not their f-ing problem. and for people that
think its going to affect their children and they dont want them to see that
type of stuff. your child is going to learn about it either way.
so just let em be and let them marry
I think it should be legal too.
Allowing it does not affect the rest of the population. And not allowing it
won't do anybody any good either.
If it is sinful for christians to be gay, then what's wrong with atheist being
homosexual? Should they not have the choice and freedom as well?

What? There wasn't a way to state your opinion without putting that three-letter
word in it? <.< I find your post a bit offensive, actually. Even bweb, who
managed to use the word "deviant" to describe homosexuals, is much
more tactful than you are about his views... Come on! I despise intolerance more
than anything. I'll accept that some people are against same-sex marriage,
because it does go against pretty much anything Christians believe in, but
there's no need to be mean about it.
Well, I already started a thread on the same subject a while ago, and my opinion
didn't change. Honestly, I don't believe in marriage to begin with. I believe
this institution isn't as sacred as people make it out to be. I mean, it wasn't
created by god or anything. It was created by humans for their own benefit. And
in the past, people couldn't even choose who they were going to marry, so why
try to glorify marriage so much? Especiallywhen there are so many divorces? But
today, we're in a different age, we consider marriage as the expression of love.
Most people get maried because they want to commit to each other, even if it
doesn't last their whole life. So, if two people who really love each can find
happiness in marriage, then I'll be extremely happy for them. The matter of the
sex shouldn't even matter anymore. I don't care if the bible said marriage
should only be between a man and a woman... It's time people start becoming
critical of the Bible, like we are of most books, and that they start thinking
for themselves. After all, the Bible wasn't written by the hands of God himself,
but by mere people who knew sin like all of us...
And I for one am proud to live in Canada where same-sex marriage is now
legal.
