Once in a while I try to turn my Eureka 7 fansub videos into Japanese lessons.
It's tricky, tho, since their language structure is so much different. I have
picked up one or two short phrases and words.

Yes, I do from time to time. There are some animes made for children that are
easily to understand, and if I hear the same words a couple of times I memorize
them automatically. I learnd many words from animes and can even make some
sentences!
^O^ I study Japanese at university and I can say that watching anime helps a
lot!
But it's true that you can't talk to a Japanese like you hear in anime...most of
the times the main characters have a rude way of speaking (that is to make them
charismatic or to stress their personality) and in general you'll hear informal
language which you cannot use if you're not among close friends ^__^ So,
basically...you have to be careful with what you learn ^__~
Well, I do my best when I try to study the japanese language by anime o.o.
Sometimes I can pick up some words, but not when there are many words and
sentences O.o. I have to hear them word by word . So yes, I do try to learn japanese from animes ^^'

I like to learn more so i won't be so clueless when i playd japanese games. I'd
learn it from The Songs, because when i watch movies (or animes), id rather
watch the pics instead of seeing the subtitles.
I actually learned a lot of Japanese words from anime. I think this is the best
way to learn Japanese because you can discover new words by yourself and you can
also hear their pronounciation..
I only use the animes to practice my pronounciation. I found out that it is hard
to learn just by watching animes alone, so I took a Japanese course at my
university, and surprisingly my pronounciation was top (I can't say best...) in
the class. Having a good teacher is really important because Japanese is such a
culture-related language and there's probably a bunch of ways to say the same
thing for different occasions.
But if you just want to know a few Japanese words to show off to friends, then
anime is a good choice :3 I learned some <secret> words while watching
anime. heh.
I learned quit a bit from all the animes i have watched and i want to be fluent
in japanese and i am trying to learn some on my own with diffrent websites now.
Yet again i'm not sure if i've oredy posted in the topic but
i'll post again anyways. I'd have to say I learn a few words after each anime i
watch ^^ I love learning it from there even though it takes me so much time to
even learn very little Japanese. Those little words like hai and kombawa, and
baka is only very little Japanese. There's lots of more words out there to learn
and anime won't teach you all of them, you'll have to learn from something else
if you want to learn the whole language.
