well, this is what I've got so far...
I only have a few ideas myself, such as making the clouds more detailed
(instead of using the quick and easy rendered ones ...oops) ^^;
and maybe adding something extra to the background (what, I don't know)
><
which is why I would like to hear suggestions from you guys on how I can make it
better
...also I work kinda slow so don't expect me to have instant updates with your
suggestions on them lol
and thanks in advance...
It's quit an interesting wall you got there! I really like the chosen
characters. They have a nice pose and the line up is well done... though I think
the last one (right) is a lil « outsider
». his pose is weird and is too crouched : maybe a
different pose of him would fit better, but that's just my opinion! About
the clouds, well, making them more detailed is a good idea and I also think you
should place 'em higher from the grass, start the cloud at the lvl of the black
skirt girl (too lazy to remember her name :P )
Oh! And here's some technical advises (again, that's just me) : Try using the
blurr tool to make the lines less crispy, like zoom in at 200% and blurr LIGHTLY
the characters outlines. Should give you a good effect!
The characters look like scans to me, maybe re-coloring them again would do it!
LOL Nah, seriously, maybe play a lil with the lights, color, contrast, etc, to
remove the little imperfections of their colors. Something...
Annnnnd that's it! For now...
Have fun and keep it up! You really have a good start! I'll be in the first row
to download the final version! :P
Damn, you're such a good extractor, that this wallpaper doesn't do anything. You
should try more things then just fill with cloud filter, and random brush of the
grass, you didn't even resize the brush, haha.
Well, I'm not sure this really fits Fate/Stay Night, I'd expect something dark.
Grass needs some defying, try sizing the brush differently for some variation in
length, grass is not always the same length. Clouds do not fill the whole sky,
make clouds yourself with brush effects if you can, looks a whole lot better.
Maybe put some shadows in the grass, to make it look like they fit.
ok, so I definitely do need to change the clouds lol ^^;
and I'll try and see what I can do about the characters appearance
but I'll be leaving shirou (the crouching guy) how he is since all the chars
were from the same scan
and I'll definitely work more on the grass too...
thanks guys ^^
No problem! And I agree with Devilet, you did a great job on extracting those
characters! I also agree that adding shadows to the grass would be
nice.
About the darkness of the wall... How about making 2 version? The
first one with the clouds, grass and sunny mood ,while another would be darker,
according to the Fate/Stay Night theme...
How about that? That'd give ya some plenny of work! :P
thanks, I usually just zoom in to about 800x and go slowly round the whole thing
to extract something ^^;
...it takes a while but it usually looks fairly decent afterwards
and as soon as I get this wallpaper up to a decent standard I'll make
a night time version of it then, or maybe a completely different theme but
with the same scan... or something lol
but I'll keep ya updated ^^
-edit-
I'm gonna go start working on it now
so hopefully I'll have made enough progress to post
a new version (with your suggestions added) by tomorrow
...and again thanks for the help
Um.. I have no Idea what to say! I don't know what to do exactly but I like the
grass and everything. It seems a bit Plain to Me.. I dunno
Im new @ PhotoShop! BTW, I also made a Fate/Stay Night wallie!
well, here's what I've got second time around:
As you can see I made the clouds myself this time, and I remade the grass...
I also tried Rpgmaker2's suggestion of slightly blurring the character outlines
(don't know if I did it right though) ^^;
anyway, what I need to know now is... are the things I've changed done as you
suggested?
or have I misinterpreted your suggestions and gone way off the mark? lol
also I obviously need to know if it looks better now ^^;
btw Sreylakh your FSN wallpaper is cool
and I'm new to photoshop too
I made my first wallpaper with The GIMP, but after finally saving up enough cash
I got photoshop ^^
That looks ten times better dude. I would add a few more things, but I can't
think of anything right now. But for sure the characters fit in the scene, much
nicer than the previous where they looked out of place. The colours are at the
same tone range, good job, and the clouds look natural.
thanks a lot for taking the time to come back again and letting me know what you
think
...it's much appreciated ^^
and I also can't think of anything to add right now
so I'll just await a few more suggestions to see if anyone else can think for me
lol ^^;
but once again thanks, Devilet
the horizon looks a bit boring being so flat, how about giving a slight curve
('cause the way you've made the clouds gives that curved-up sky feel), or a
hill. The grass colour is much better, but maybe make the farther grass
lighter/more hazy to give a sense of depth? Also, the black-haired girl looks
like she's floating on the grass, she's not as naturally grounded as the others,
if you know what I mean
hmm... I'll have go at adding a hill in there somewhere
...not sure how to go about it though lol but I'll try ^^;
and I'll see what I can do about making the grass have a bit more depth to it
I also kinda noticed the thing about Rin being slightly floaty myself lol
I'll see if I can find a way to fix that too...
anyway, it really did help so thanks a lot ^^
*gets to work on it*
yea the second one is much beter and could u tell me how u made the gras and the
clouds? (couse i know that renderinmg clouds doesn't work because that wallie is
deleted :P)

ok, I think I've just about made Rin a little less floaty ^^;
and I added a hill but I'm not sure if it's how you meant or even if it's in the
right place...
I also tried to make the grass fade slightly at the back
...but I'm not sure if that's right either ><
anyway, if you can let me know if it's better or worse now I'd appreciate it
^^
@CloudyHeaven: the grass was made using a photoshop brush at different sizes and
on different layers
(some layers horizontally flipped so the grass doesn't all point the same
way)
but the clouds weren't so simple, and I can't really explain how to make them
since it was mostly trial and error
using different filters and ways of brushing till they looked like actual
clouds, sorry ^^;
...My first attempt was so bad because after taking quite a while with the
extraction
I was getting a little bored and put virtually no effort into the background
><
However, it's a mistake I won't be making again ^^;

Sugoi! A major improvement from your first attempt. I think it is definately ready for submission in the gallery. Great Job! ^_^*
