Is there anything wrong with a guy who is into anime meant for a female
audience?
I'll admit here that I watch anime like Cardcaptor Sakura, Mao-chan, and Petite
Princess Yucie partially for the cuteness factor. There are some great shoujo
stuff out there, and I've pretty much gotten used to the fluff in order to enjoy
them.
(Though, it's kind of hard to ward off the stares I get when I buy such titles
in the stores)
I'm in the opposite predicament; personally, if you like the title, then try not
to worry about it. As someone I know once said to me, "Try not to overthink
things too much." (Obviously, the poor thing doesn't know me that well,
otherwise they'd be aware that I overanylize EVERYTHING ).
Anyway, don't worry, if it's something you like, and it's legal, then go ahead
and enjoy the anime-I'm still getting used to the violence gore in some shonen
anime and manga, myself! Though, some of the fight scenes are very
well-coordinated, in my opinion. .
Have fun!
i like a lot of 'girly' animes and 'kiddy' animes too
doesnt describe who u r totally as a person...
its jus one aspect of u
i mean i play sports and work out
and i hit the heavy bag/speed bag/double-end bag often
soooo if u wanna make fun of me for watchin 'girly' anime
then dun blame me if u find my fist in ur face ^___~ hehe
naaaah jus j/k....i wouldnt huwrt anyone ^__^ lol
besides...girls r encouraged to fill more "man" like roles
nowadays...
i dun see y guys cant do more 'feminine' stuffs
I suppose that as long as you like it, then it shouldn't matter what you like. I
would watch Cardcaptor Sakura and Fruits Basket if I had the chance. I
personally read some shoujo manga. It's not something I would like to stick out
there, but that doesn't mean I won't enjoy doing what I do. I think that looking
at things that were targeted for a different audience just makes us more open
minded than others. In my opinion, enjoying it is what should matter.
I'm not the kind of guy to call someone's masculinity into question. We as a
species (should) have moved beyond stereotypical definitions of gender roles and
interests.
If we don't, we'll never evolve into beings of pure energy and DAMNIT I wanna be
an energy-person!
Besides, I like Inuyasha, and that's kinda romantic-y.
I got this nickname from admitting to watch girly anime around my friends years
ago. They thought calling me shoujoboy would make me mad, when really I just
figured it fit pretty well. Girly stuff is my niche and I wouldn't have it any
other way.
I admit that I really enjoy "girly" anime, Petite Princess Yucie being
one of them. I'm not sure why I do, but for some reason they just really get to
me. There is nothing to be ashamed of eros21.
Idk, I always find it hard to watch cause im a little more self concious than
other people that i kno. I do like it, especially tokyo mew mew. Cuteness factor
is pretty high, but the whole 'strawberry bell' thing is a little corny.
Although I do like some of these 'girly' or 'kiddy' animes, im still WAY more
into titles like Neon Genesis, samurai Champloo, Chobits, and those good ones.
Even though I'm mostly into comedy and sci-fi anime, I find shoujo anime quite
enjoyable. Ultra Maniac and Pita-Ten are examples of shoujo anime that I dig.
And I happen to enjoy the Kamichama Karin manga. Funny stuff.
I watch "girly"anime, in fact it is largly what i watch, and ive
covered my walls with pic of anime girls, and it doesnt bother me. if any1 has a
problem with that, or they dont understand, i just tell them to f*** off. But i
also like war games/movies, hardrock/metal, and other viloent things. so it
doesnt really describe my whole personality, like some other guy said, it just
describes one asect of it not every1 needs to know about.

bother what others like or dislike?
I asked partially for curiosities sake, though I guess like a few people here, I
am a tad self-concious about what I watch (especially among the non-otaku).
I actually thought the proportion here would be smaller, but I guess I was
wrong... glad to know that I am not the only guy who likes shoujo/kiddy anime.
My dad walked in when the hitachin twins were staring at each other that way
(they do it at least once per episode).........i was half tempted to show my dad
the porn i stashed on my com to convince him i wasn't gay '
There aren't such a huge anime community here so few enough people know of it at
least. Of those few you get fans that watch anything anime they get their hands
on (like me!). So I can basically watch what I want and no-one will know what
I'm talking about so I don't talk about it. So i can watch whatever I want (if I
can get it).
If its availible I'll watch it. I have watched some titles and afterwards heard
(or read) it was considered bishounen. (Explained a lot). That I don't really
like.
But plain and cute shoujo I don't have trouble with (sometimes, however, I just
have to remind myself what I'm watching.
If anyone does make a comment I can just say that I collect anime and that I
have seen more than they so they can just strangle themselves with their
mouse-cords. A friend (and semi-Anime fan) did call me a pervert recently for
being such a big fan. But that was after I called him something else (can't
remeber what - we were drinking at the time, so all's fair).
me personally i don't think there's anything wrong with buying girly anime or
manga or kiddy either, because i'm into romance and so most romances are girly,
and i'm the kinda guy that wishes for a romance like and an anime.
Hell no! I watch Chobits ( I think it's a girly anime) and I love that show! I
like girly anime's. So,
to answer your question, no,theres nothing wrong with that.
It's like asking, "Can girls watch boyish anime?" lol

Nothing wrong with that at all. I know a bunch of guys who like Card Captor Sakura and Fruits Basket. I don't think any lesser of them.
It's only freaky when they cosplay as Sakura, ughhh.. *shudders*

I immensely enjoyed Princess Tutu. Anyone has a problem with that?!?
I do. Not.
I do if there's a hot anime girl but i dont' really paid attention 2 the story of the plot i just try 2 look 4 her and keep flipping through channels

Does Ouran HSC count?

No there isn't anything wrong. Different intrests, thats all.
I know some guys that can sit through yaoi and Sailor Moon. One of them is dating me. (I'm a chick, by the way)
If a girl reads or watches Revolutionary Girl Utena, does that make her a lesbian? Same concept.
if the anime is good it doesn't if it's 'girly' or not
me personally i don't think there's anything wrong with buying girly anime or manga or kiddy either, because i'm into romance and so most romances are girly, and i'm the kinda guy that wishes for a romance like and an anime.
