well... yeah, that mainly the reason I'm opening this thread... In this exact
moment I'm wondering how we've been able to survive in this world of today... so
much violence... so much degradation and pervertion.... Right now I'm feeling
depressed because of a series of events that have happened in the last 3-4
days... First of all my closest friend's grand-father died... I know it doesn't
have to do with me being dissapointed with the world but it's sad anyways...
second... I find out that one of my... lets say former best-friends is a
reckless drunk killer, he got really drunk one day and when driving back home he
tipped his SUV over and killed a 15 year old boy and injured six more... this
makes me think: what have we gotten to? I mean... he's just 16! and now he's a
killer and he won't be punished! I predict, becuase money buys everything in
this world (that's the third thing I'm dissapointed at), you see that guy is the
son of a very famous designer here in my country so he'll just pay some big
bucks to the judge or whoever he has to pay and that's it, he'll be out in the
streets again, unfortunately my country's legal system is full of corruption
(that's the 4th), every week or so another case of bribe or extorsion appears
concerning an important person of my country's law system, the 5th tihng is,
again, my country's legal system, but in the judicial branch, you see our
country has the biggest criminal, pedophilical (if that's what you call a person
who likes kids, in a sexual way), and perverted freak in jail, he raped,
tortured, and killed over 150 kids... and he kepta record of ALL OF THEM. He had
diary in which he wrote the experiences and everything he did to the kid, plus,
all the kid's data, B-day, age, school he attended to, route from house to
school, most frequented places, etc. Now that person (Luis Alfonso Garavito is
that person's, if you can call him that, name) is about to go free to the
streets again! There's a political group here that is trying to input
death-penalty to rapers, and murderers, like him. But NOOOOO there are people
who really think that a maximum of 30 years in prison (that's the MAXIMUM TIME
someone has to stay in prison for ANY serious crime in this country) will change
a person...
I could keep on going with this list, but I don't wanna waste your time and I
gotta do some things of my own....
so..... there ya go world!

PS: sorry for my horrible grammatical error in the thread title.... -__-
The world is fulla disappointments. The best countries underperformed at the
World Cup, the economy crashed in 1998, the Titanic sank needlessly due to the
arrogance of man, Hitler ordered the murder 2 500 000 Jews, the Arab countries
are always at war, the world is filled with blind Nationalists who don't see
that they're as bad or worse as their enemies.
if you let that stuff get you down too much, you'll never be a happy person. Do
what you can and feel good about what does go right in the world.
I agree with falconx2000. But, I will admit, it is hard to focus on the right
when there is so much wrong.... But, then again, I'm a sort of negative person,
so don't mind me.
well think about it the is what it is because of what we make of it, the
decisions we make after others. expecting the world to become better just like
that means going against the way of life of just about everybody even if their
way of life is wrong. im also disappointed in this world but i realised theres
no point dwelling on it unless you're gonna do something about it and if you are
expect to be disapointed alot of times because the world isnt ready yet to
accept people like that so if your gonna do good do it for the sake of doing
good because alot of people may or wil look over good deeds. so if you atleast
want the life your in to be abit better do some good for the sake of good, not
so u can be praised by others for being good. and remember the reason for an
action is just as important as the action itself because the reason determines
what kind of person you are, if you choose to help some just so they will help
you back the that action wasnt out of charity but selfishness. also dont expect
too much of people because we all have our faults so as lon as their bad sides
arent to bad just accept who they are and try to focus on their bright side. the
world is in chaos because of our selfish action, when we fail to consider how
someone feels or how our actions will affect others. the world isnt perfect so
live with it but that doesnt mean you cant try to make it a little better and we
have to start somewhere, you can expect to reach the top of the ladder without
first climbing the steps in between. but disappointing enough kindness alone
will not dissipate ALL of the darkness, some people have just reached a stage
where reason is nothing because the world has proved to the the being fair or
kind isnt going to make their life any better so sometimes you have to become
strong to protect the things the are good because there will be people who would
try to take it away for self reasons. im christian and i believe in God and my
guardian angel deeply but i think thaty just praying to make things better
without acting upon it will accomplish little so i pray to God and my Guardian
Angel to give me the strength to make the change and they pick me up when im
down. I just pray that if you are going to do something about it, that the world
wont consume you aswell so toughen up with love hope and courage not hatred and
bitterness or you will be just like the bad people you dislike. and try to keep
control of your emotions cuz without restraint you will blindly succumb to your
desires. so try to think about what i said cuz there wouldnt have been any point
for me to write this novel lol.
Yes Mr. Satoshi-kun, I totally agree with you. I am a good christian myself and
I try and pray to God and my guardian angel every night. I'm just the kind of
person you mention there, I always try and be nice to people, put up a big smile
every day, even though it may be the worst of days... I try and help out
everyone I can, not looking for something given back to me, but many times I do
it it sort of gives a negative effect, remember that kid I mentioned? the drunk
killer? when he was still a good friend of mine and was in my school I did him
the a gigantic favor, I did his end-of-the-year english essay, his mother had
just died and well... he wasn't in any shape of making a 30 page story... I
shouldnt've done it because even tohugh I earned his eternal gratitude and
trust, next year, he flunked totally, by the end of second bimester he was
thrown out of my school (which isn't a school like others...) because of bad
grades and... sexual abuse.... can you believe that? I helped him pass the year
and he just gives a damn and flunks the next one? (I actually told him all this)
since then I sent him to hell, go screw up your own life...
about the other things... I do have a lot of trust in many people, which has
turned out very fatidic for me... having been cheated on, ripped-off, betrayed,
loads of times, but still I have some believe left.... I don't think I will ever
fall into my desires, as patience and self-control are some of my greatest
virtues... I plan, to try and change this world, to:
1. whenever I have kids, raise them in a good catholic way
2. try and influence my close friends to... well.... be good...
and 3. make myself a much better person than I am now....
I thank you for praying for me.. I shall pray to God too so he... gives people
like you good lives and keep you out of harms way.....
I see what you see. I can understand how you feel because I am experincing the
same things as you. This world is never going to be perfect, no matter how hard
man tries. I believe its all our own fault. Even i do lie, i do steal when
young
Depression is a daily part of life, and learning to live day as it is is the key
to enjoying. No matter how short the time you have to enjoy, it is still
enjoyment.
I'm ready to die, having learning how to enjoy this short moment of life.
hell yeah... who dont? well, the people who have it all thinks the world doesnt
sucks!
but it sucks a lot even if u have it all, becuz on that u can
injustice.
But i'm very dissapointed, becuz we should live a better life, all as equals...
But that thing is kinda utopia.
I think u should make it better for those who dont eat all days... for animals
that get molested by us, mere humans, who are baring with our lives
too.
let's make better life for nature, and for what she brings.
the world is full of disappointments, be it the men in my life (family,
boyfriends, guy friends that I'm not dating, whatever) teachers, leaders, myself...
live life to the fullest, change what you can, and remember the serenity prayer.
if you're interested, PM me and I'll give it to you.
I am a firm believer in Karma. If you hurt others or have done other a
disservice on purpose, lucky acts or acts of good intent will never come your
way. Otherwise the evil or disharmony in this world will swallow you up mentally
and spiritually. The system is broke but can we fix it?
We all feel dissapointed of the world from time to time, but we must accept and understand that the world can't be
the way we want it, coz we all want different things. Some of them are
bad, others a good, but they aren't the same and when people disagree it's when
things like those you wrote, happen.
If you want to see a difference then you have to do it yourself; small things
can make big changes!
The battle of Armageddon must be fought. Jehovah God's purpose for the earth is
to restore it to its original Paradise state and to have mankind live on it in
peace and perfection "with no one to make them tremble." (Ezekiel
34:28; Micah 4:3, 4; Revelation 21:4) What, then, is to be done with those who,
by their crime and violence, would mar the security of the restored Paradise? No
system devised by man has yet successfully dealt with such a problem. The only
way to ensure perfect peace is to eliminate even the threat of wickedness. Yes,
God must destroy the incorrigibly wicked for the sake of those who want to do
what is right. Out of love, he acts to clear the earth of those who would ruin
it. (Revelation 11:18)
But no one needs to die. "[God's] will is that all sorts of men should be
saved," writes the apostle Paul. (1 Timothy 2:4) And Peter, also writing
under inspiration, states: "He does not desire any to be destroyed but
desires all to attain to repentance." (2 Peter 3:9) God has arranged for
the "good news of the kingdom" to be proclaimed so that each
individual will have opportunity to work out his own salvation. (Matthew 24:14;
Philippians 2:12; Galatians 6:5) You can live forever in perfection on a
paradise earth. The choice is yours. (Romans 2:5-9; Ezekiel 18:23, 32) Is this
not what you would expect from a God of love?
Jehovah's actions at Armageddon will be with mankind's best interests in mind.
Think. How do you feel about the present world conditions? Do you like them as
they are? Do you feel secure under the threat of nuclear annihilation? Do you
tremble at seeing violence increasing, your own neighborhood becoming less safe?
Do you fear for your children and their future? What relief do you see? Has any
government ever shown that it could bring peace and prosperity to all mankind?
Has any ever been able to eliminate sickness or death from the earth? Instead,
have not conditions worldwide worsened despite man's technological achievements,
and often because of such developments? It is only God's righteous Kingdom that
will fully satisfy the needs of mankind. It is only by means of it that true
peace will prevail over all the earth. The battle of Armageddon must be
fought!
Armageddon is actually the best thing that could happen to our globe! It will
put an end to the nations' selfish suicidal course. It will clear out the
systems that bring misery to humankind and make way for a truly righteous new
system of things where all man-made sorrow, pain, and death will be forever
removed. Then 'the former things will have passed away,' according to God's
promise. (Revelation 21:4; 2 Peter 3:13)
We must remember that God in his wisdom knows what is best for mankind and what
is needed to achieve it. Even human governments have proposed and engaged in war
to rectify seeming injustices or to fight for what was thought to be a noble
cause. But only God has the wisdom to fight a truly just war. Only he can fight
a truly selective war where right-hearted individuals, wherever they may be on
earth, will be preserved. (Matthew 24:40, 41; Revelation 7:9, 10, 13-17) And
only God has the right to impose his sovereignty over all the earth, for it is
his creation. Yes, in order to remove all traces of wickedness forever, end
injustice, oppressive false worship, even the cause of sin, and fully sanctify
God's holy name---Armageddon must be fought. And it will be, because "God
is love!"
To bypass pretty much the obvious statements of your points, I am one of those
individuals who luckily enough stands out and away from most of the problems you
see here in these worlds. Even though there is a firm saying that "no
matter where you go, you can't always be safe," its how you live your life
the way you want it to be, the groups of people you wish to interact with, and
where your lifestyle normally lies that defines your gradual position and your
surroundings.
I already know that the world is already a big disappointment. I likewise too
disagree upon the actions of others. Sometimes, I feel that I have no absolute
idea why some of these people are the way they
are. Then you have the trolls, the arrogant, and the seemingly mindless
roaming around making life as worse as it is. I don't need to point out facts of
proof that indeed this sort of corruption does exist. Everyone has felt some
kind of it one time or another in their entire lives, whether it would be as
acute as an argument behind a neighbor's backyard, to the real problems of the
matters [which I won't bring up never being in that kind of position
before].
The good thing I can obviously bring out to my views is that I disregard all the
negativity as best as I can and put some positive influences to my life. It has
nothing to do with shunning yourself away from the public. It has nothing to do
with ignoring all those whom you believe to be controversial individuals to talk
over with. There are indeed good people out there that can make you feel as if
life is indeed worth fighting over. I have seen many wonderful things that have
happened throughout life, and not everything can be determined as disappointing.
You just have to adjust to what you feel is "right" in the world. I
would rather be outside having a wonderful discussion with my best of friends in
a library of at a nearby convenient coffee shop, than go off at night,
dismantling faces, and ruthlessly destroying the peace of fellow bystanders out
there. That's just me.
Whew and here I thought I was the only one who was thinking this way...I feel so
dissapointed about our world since the beginning of my childhood...I think the
perfect anime for this is GUNDAM SEED and GSD cuz it really taught me alot of
negativity when u base it from that anime and in real life its not far as to the
similarities go...HATE,VIOLENCE,GREED,DECEPTION,BETRAYAL, and all the others are
manifesting itself in our world...I HOPE THAT YOU PEOPLE WONT FEEL THE PAIN THAT
THE WORLD GAVE ME...
Well yeah the world is going down the crapper, senseless war are going on,
extortions are happening, drug lords are ruing the streets, perverts are being
set free after an alotted time, and the list can go on and on.The trick is to
keep looking forward dont let the horrors of the world get you down, If lyou let
these disappointments bring you down everytime then you'll never be happy and be
able to get through life.
So look forward to the good things that mai come and be positive and optimistic
for your own sake.
I understand how you feel. I have a goal that is right in front of me, yet it is
almost unattainable without illegal actions. It reminds me of the study of the
caterpillars that crawled in a circle for three days around food in a small
container before starving to death. Their goal (the food) was right in front of
them, but they never made it.
yup. pollutions, endangered animals, extinction of animals, gobal warming, wars,
riots, disease & viruses. you name it. sometimes i wondered why we want
things untill this kind of extent.
yes, people are greedy, self-centered, selfish, power-hungry, and just downright
disgusting most of the times around here, and there are wars, diseases[also
man-made btw] & i've seen the possible threat of human extinction by our own
hands, soo yes, theres no doubt that the world has failed me on soo many
occasions
there is no hope for myself in the future and all seems to be filled despair
whereever you[meaning everyone] go and i'm bitter becaue the world has failed
me. It didn't turn out the way I had wanted it too and feel betrayed.
if people did change, maybe things wouldn't turn out so bad for many like
myself, but i guess i will never know.
The world is dissapointing, but only because of mankind's pursuit of power
(which runs parallel to the seven sins)...
By human nature...
...people lust for power...
...and although would prefer the easiest means to get it...
...will suck and steal from those around them for power...
...once obtained, people will boast about their triumph...
...while despising those with powers they don't have yet...
...Lastly, in fear of giving up these powers...
...They will destroy in order to maintain their current state.
As long as this pattern continues, mankind will resume heading down the path of
self-genocide.
...and to be honest, I couldn't care less. I know that I'm going to fry (after
all, betrayal, an extension of pride, is the gravest sin one can commit), but
I'll die a happy man if I know that Karma is true, and everyone will get what
they truly deserve.
Nope. In fact, we're pretty much as violent as we've always been. I'd argue that
its improved, because at least a few countries are recognizing the idea of basic
human rights, as in, the government in every country doesn't simply kill people
just 'cause.
well... yeah, that mainly the reason I'm opening this thread... I don't need to point out facts of proof that indeed this sort of corruption does exist. Everyone has felt some kind of it one time or another in their entire lives, whether it would be as acute as an argument behind a neighbor's backyard, to the real problems of the matters [which I won't bring up never being in that kind of position before].
The good thing I can obviously bring out to my views is that I disregard all the negativity as best as I can and put some positive influences to my life. It has nothing to do with shunning yourself away from the public. It has nothing to do with ignoring all those whom you believe to be controversial individuals to talk over with. There are indeed good people out there that can make you feel as if life is indeed worth fighting over. I have seen many wonderful things that have happened throughout life, and not everything can be determined as disappointing. You just have to adjust to what you feel is "right" in the world. I would rather be outside having a wonderful discussion with my best of friends in a library of at a nearby convenient coffee shop, than go off at night, dismantling faces, and ruthlessly destroying the peace of fellow bystanders out there. That's just me.
avoid the media, clear your mind, and you should be fine ^__^
peace love and crapz
There is too many dissappoitment and unfair things in life, but everything has it's own sense...
I wonder if sometimes people will change....
All the time, its really sad that so many people are just greedy, selfish and downright horrible, I just wish it didn't have to be that way.
Whew and here I thought I was the only one who was thinking this way...I feel so dissapointed about our world since the beginning of my childhood...I think the perfect anime for this is GUNDAM SEED and GSD cuz it really taught me alot of negativity when u base it from that anime and in real life its not far as to the similarities go...HATE,VIOLENCE,GREED,DECEPTION,BETRAYAL, and all the others are manifesting itself in our world...I HOPE THAT YOU PEOPLE WONT FEEL THE PAIN THAT THE WORLD GAVE ME...
Well yeah the world is going down the crapper, senseless war are going on, extortions are happening, drug lords are ruing the streets, perverts are being set free after an alotted time, and the list can go on and on.The trick is to keep looking forward dont let the horrors of the world get you down, If lyou let these disappointments bring you down everytime then you'll never be happy and be able to get through life.
So look forward to the good things that mai come and be positive and optimistic for your own sake.
P.s. life is to short live to the fullest.
I do. I'm so awesome that I think I've overestimated the world.
I understand how you feel. I have a goal that is right in front of me, yet it is almost unattainable without illegal actions. It reminds me of the study of the caterpillars that crawled in a circle for three days around food in a small container before starving to death. Their goal (the food) was right in front of them, but they never made it.
yup. pollutions, endangered animals, extinction of animals, gobal warming, wars, riots, disease & viruses. you name it. sometimes i wondered why we want things untill this kind of extent.
yes, people are greedy, self-centered, selfish, power-hungry, and just downright disgusting most of the times around here, and there are wars, diseases[also man-made btw] & i've seen the possible threat of human extinction by our own hands, soo yes, theres no doubt that the world has failed me on soo many occasions
there is no hope for myself in the future and all seems to be filled despair whereever you[meaning everyone] go and i'm bitter becaue the world has failed me. It didn't turn out the way I had wanted it too and feel betrayed.
if people did change, maybe things wouldn't turn out so bad for many like myself, but i guess i will never know.
The world is dissapointing, but only because of mankind's pursuit of power (which runs parallel to the seven sins)...
As long as this pattern continues, mankind will resume heading down the path of self-genocide.
...and to be honest, I couldn't care less. I know that I'm going to fry (after all, betrayal, an extension of pride, is the gravest sin one can commit), but I'll die a happy man if I know that Karma is true, and everyone will get what they truly deserve.
No, I find the world fascinating.
It is myself that I find disappointing.
Nope. In fact, we're pretty much as violent as we've always been. I'd argue that its improved, because at least a few countries are recognizing the idea of basic human rights, as in, the government in every country doesn't simply kill people just 'cause.
