Well, I have been wondering for a while. Which do you like more? The PSP or the
DS? The PSP gets my vote, hands-down. I was just wondering which one others like
more. (If you are curious, I like the PSP more not because of the media
features, I really don't give a crap about them. It's because of the massive
screen and beautiful graphics. The PSP can immerse you in the world in which you
are playing in, while I find that near- impossible with the DS. Plus, PSP has
333 megahertz, DS has 74. End of story.).
Although the PSP has the advantage in graphics, I think that the DS wins in
games. The touch screen has allowed for unique games such as Brain Age, and Big
Brain Academy. Metroid Prime Hunters is also a unique game, in the sense that
it's probably the best first-person shooter available for a hand-held system
because of it's realistic aiming system. One also cannot forget WarioWare:
Touched!, being the ultimate test for relfexes and just insane minigames.
The DS also has the advantage in classic games that are appropriate for the
average child, and yet teenagers and some adults can be seen playing those same
game. Titles such as Mario Kart DS, Super Mario 64 DS, and Metroid Prine Hunters
(yet again) come into mind. Advance Wars: Dual Strike is probably the best
strategy game for the DS, and is acclaimed by many as a great game series.
Castlevania: Dawn of Sorrow is also an amzing title, and is played by all ages.
Games like Castlevania are huge in space, so having an extra screen to serve as
a map is a life-saver. Instead of opening a menu and checking your position, you
can simply look up, then get back to your game. This is true for games like
Mario and Luigi Superstar Saga: Partners in Time. The extra screen also comes in
handy for a game like Metroid Prime Pinball, where instead of having a
transition to view the top half of the board, you can simply look on the top
screen.
If I have bee purposed the PSP for it's multimedia capabilities, I'd rather a
PALM PDA. They're developing even better models than PSP capabilities.
Besides, PSP takes an amazing and disturbing amount of time for loading
games.
No thanks. I don't see a future UMD's rules. Well. That's what I see, but
everything uses to change.
I think they each have their good points. Originally I did not like the DS...but
when DSLite came out...wow...that thing is lookin sharp now. I like the new
games coming out for it, New Super Mario Bros., Super Mario 64 DS, some Sonic
game look like the original...(Metroid Hunters?! I think not...I played the demo
you have to move around and aim by using the freaking stylus...how lame is
that?!). Well anyways...I dont think they directly compete with each other...do
they even have much of a simliar line up?
They are both good, I voted for PSP however just cause I own one, and don't have
a DSLite yet...
I would say DS, since it has more games and touchscreen.
But PSP does have better graphics and some stuff that DS doesn't have
my friends showed me this on youtube http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SaYnqCm0uE4
lol
Me, looking at the PSP "Hey why's the screen blank?"
Friend: "Oh its just loading the loading screen."
"high score like games" <- that is an interesting way to
characterize DS games.
DS obviously... what's the point to play games that are better with a big screen
(PS, PS2) ?
While the DS adds a special touch (touchscreen and dual screen)
And I like to play short periods with the DS... without loading time.
I am looking forward to play the new DS Zelda and Pokemon.
I'm a huge Sony fanboy, but in all honesty Sony's Gaming business has been going
downhill (hell it's almost free-falling now... ' ) since
the introduction of the latest 7th generation consoles (Xbox 360, Nintendo Wii
and PS3). The Nintendo DS has outsold the PSP in ALL regions, even in Japan where Sony has a massive following. The
matter of fact is that Sony rely waaaay too much on brand naming and image.
There's almost no substance, and dare I say "love".
I'm much more inclined towards buying a DSlite than a PSP, because the
multiplayer function on the DS appeal to me more as a casual gamer. The PSP
appears to have a much larger selection of games available but frankly, the DS
just seems more fun. Having said that, I've never actually played either the PSP
or the DS :P so my opinion is purely based on anecdotal evidence
I like both, but I prefer the DS. IMO the DS just has a whole lot more games
that are actually fun, the PSP has a lot of ports which is great if you're new
to gaming, but not so great for everyone else. The DS has a lot more original
titles as well as better support and more good games on the way.
For example SquareEnix has 6 DS games in development and 2+ GBA games (also
playable on DS) while they only have 1 or 2 for PSP. The situation seems to be
similar with a lot of developers.
DS for me! I like all the possibilites for games you can play. Racing,
adventure, etc etc. There's a little bit of everything and I love that. Besides,
I've always been a Nintendo fan. Only thing that'll ever tempt me to buy
something from Sony in terms of game hardware would be the PS2, only because of
all the anime games.
Ever since I was little I had a huge green GB which needed 4 batteries and it
had the best variety of games that kept me occupied with fun! Now much more
advanced with a sleeker & cooler design, it still is the best portable game
console out there. The price is reasonable and the games are great!
I like the DS better than PSP... the games are more fun in my opinion, since I
don't own on myself... but I play one every single day at school or my friends
house... DS has alot of fun games... 4 player Tetris... will make you swear more
than you ever would while playing PSP... =P
Because its inovative games i would prefer n-n tthe DS , its clearly that games
like METEOS,BRAIN AGE,METROID PRIME hunters, WARIO WARETOUCH, would never feel
the same as in the PSP, believe me there is not
a better console for multiplayer X__x , how ever Psp has aswell good points but
its games will not feel that fresh air that feels the DS ,cause by the many
remakes -__- that looks and feel as the same with extra bonuses`(extra
things)....
like GTA Liberty Cities xD,...also feel the same mario 64 DS
well the PSP has great RPG that looks amazing O_O , belive it or not they re
quite good,
well as a conclusion i would say that THE BEST handheld console is the one you
like the MOST. n_nbecause its innovative games, amazing graphics, amazings
multiplayer that killed time(4 hours as if they were half hour D(own
experience, 4 players inMPH and meteos, 8plysMario KartDS),online
gaming,multimedia,great RPGS etc
well thats my comment.

XD sorry cause of my grammar ;P
Well I own both so I can't really decide between the 2, I like the DS because of
its download play ability and the few games that work really well with the touch
screen and I like the PSP because of the amount of RPGs on it and power it gives
the games
I've yet to decide which one to buy since I'm sorta out of the league in video
games for a while. My last console or some type of video game system I bought
was Playstation, which is probably too long ago for anyone to remember. Now i'm
leaning towards maybe PSP since you can program it somehow to play games via
memory card? I'm not too clear with this sort of technology, but my friend has a
psp with a maxed out memory card with old games such as mario 1 2 3 blah blah
blah and so on. Maybe I can throw in some anime wallpapers and some anime to
watch on-the-go if I do buy a psp
I dunno, Im a sony kinda guy but i was really dissapointed with the DS. Like the
games arent all that goof ya kno, only like ports and crap. I do like lumines
and generation of chaos. Also Im pretty sure a lot of games would be better if
there was a second analog device.
The DS has a lot more games. Nintendo always has fun games. thas pretty much it.
If you ask me, you should add another option to the poll. "Cannot be
compared."
I don't think you can compare the two considering they're both in different
markets. The PSP is in the multimedia handheld department while the DS is a pure
gaming machine with optional media add-ons.
But in terms of just games, I'd have to go with the DS, cause I'm a Mario fan.
Well, I have been wondering for a while. Which do you like more? The PSP or the DS? The PSP gets my vote, hands-down. I was just wondering which one others like more. I would choose the PSP! Cuase you get to surf the net and stuff. And plus my friends have a PSP anyways.
Although the PSP has the advantage in graphics, I think that the DS wins in games. The touch screen has allowed for unique games such as Brain Age, and Big Brain Academy. So, obviously, I voted for the DS.
ds has new web browser!
http://cgi.ebay.ca/NDS-Lite-Nintendo-DS-Browser_W0QQitemZ140018270739QQihZ004QQcategoryZ62053QQcmdZViewItem
psp is superior in graphics and power all together....
but ds games
are quite fun! so it is not fair to compare them.
I personally have both the PSP and DS lite..... and love them both
!
DS, because DS is REAL gaming.
If I have bee purposed the PSP for it's multimedia capabilities, I'd rather a PALM PDA. They're developing even better models than PSP capabilities.

Well i c it this way...
Psp is mainly graphics, and the games are mainly sports and racing. MAINLY...
The dc has cheaper graphics... but is mainly high record based games. So u try to surpass ur high score like games.....
You cant say that one is better than the other "Only in technical view". If u like sports over high score like games, then psp will suit u...
And if not, the dc will... its as easy as that...
DS, I already have one am I'm happy.
DS for me. Download play FTW.
On the subject of Metroid Prime Hunters, you can change the control style in the options menu if you don't want to use the stylus.
dont like Sony so it would be Nintendo DS i love Nintendo
"high score like games" <- that is an interesting way to characterize DS games.
