I think you have misunderstood the argument. Ichigo would go to save ANYONE. The
difference is, when Ichigo wants to save Rukia, he was more distraught. He kept
having flashbacks of Rukia in the rain during his time at Urahara's shop. He
lost his frowns a lot of times. With Inoue, there was no flashback, no rain. The
rain is a very important symbol in Ichigo's life. Even Zangetsu himself said,
"I hate the rain, Ichigo. When you are sad, it rains in your inner
world." And when he left Soul Society, Ichigo said in his heart,
"Because of you, Rukia, the rain has stopped falling."
It is without a doubt who Ichigo has feelings for.

This I agree. From the manga, it is dead clear that Ichigo and Rukia's
relationship has gone to another level when she returned from Soul Society.
That's the reason for Orihime's jealousy and sadness.
As i have not watched the anime for 20 some odd episodes, i will simply go with
description of characters. The glasses-arrow guy was showing some sort of
affection to the inoue, so they might get hooked up. Ichigo sees inoue as a
clutzy little sister character, and seems to only care about her in that sort of
way, so i'd say rukia!

Yes I have seen the newest chapter. But I still think that Ichigo will be
together with Rukia in the end. Ichigo is Bleach's hero and main character. So
it is in his 'job description' to save anyone that is in trouble. But when he
saves Rukia, he seems more desperate. Just like rabchil said.
Renji is very possible, if Ichigo did not appear in Rukia's life. Read Chapter
0b, which was included and released in the Japanese version of Bleach Volume 23.
As for Orihime, it is a bit sadder, because even if Rukia did not appear in
Ichigo's life, she wouldn't have a chance anyway, because nothing would have
happened, Ichigo would not look at her in any other way more than a friend. Read

From these two chapters, it is clear that they are fated to meet each other.
Fate brought them together, the story of Bleach started with the both of them,
and it will make sense for it to end with the both of them.
I really think it's clear that Ichigo will end up with Inoue, and if not, I'm
also sure that he won't end up with Rukia. Reading through these posts, there
have been some who present quite clear evidence to the contrary, however, I feel
they neglect situations where the feeling between Ichigo and Rukia is not
conducive to a relationship at all. They, in fact, treat each other like
comrades, like two people who fight together and bond through that experience.
Yes, there is intensity and strong feeling for the other on both sides, but
romance? I think not.
Think about Ichigo's character for a moment. What do you think he wants? What is
the one thing that he is always trying to do? Protect and help his friends. Do
you think Rukia would stand for that? She's a freaking shinigami. No way she'd
want him all up in her business trying to protect her all the time. On the other
hand, Inoue almost asks for protection. She has some amazing abilities, but
lacks the drive and willpower to use them (but oh won't it be so sweet when she
does...). She has that element of need that I think would appeal to Ichigo based
on his character. That, and the aforementioned chapter clearly shows a character
professing romance for another, something that has not been blantantly shown in
this anime yet (except for people now dead. how's this for a prediction. Ichigo
+ inoue, inoue dies, ichigo becomes like his father, all alone.).
I suppose you could argue that it's all a ploy to make us think that Ichigo and
inoue will get together and maybe there will be a freak twist later, but right
now I say money's on inoue.
Most people does not realise that the chapter which shows Orihime declaring her
love is nothing new. Her love was made known since Chapter 2. In fact, the
recent released chapter, Chapter 0a from Volume 23, shows that her love was
present even before Rukia entered Ichigo's life. And yet, there have been no
development in their relationship beyond that of a friend. The fact that Ichigo
has not reciprocated in the 5 years running of Bleach, and his growing
relationship with Rukia, including Orihime's jealousy, speak volumes on how
painfully one-sided Orihime's love is day by day.
I think people have failed to understand who Ichigo wanted to protect in the
first place. From Chapter 0a, he wanted to protect helpless SPIRITS. He feels
their pain whenever they disappeared into thin air, he didn't understand soul
burial (because Rukia hasn't come into his life yet) and he wanted to put a stop
to all these pain he was feeling. Because of Rukia, his circle of protection
extended. He had said, he could not protect strangers from monsters in the
beginning. But Rukia broke his depression, which he had carried on himself since
his mother died. She gave him a new resolution after the Grand Fisher episode,
from here he started to see that he will protect EVERYONE from Hollows. However.
People again misunderstood that he obtain his shinigami powers for the sake of
his friends. No. Ichigo re-obtained his shinigami powers for the sake of saving
Rukia. It was for her that he bothered to train. It was for her that he left his
family to go for training, to go to Soul Society (family which he cared for,
which he wanted to protect). It was for her that he must obtain Bankai. It was
for her happiness, that he let her stay
in Soul Society. Because it was her decision. And he respected it, by saying,
"If you have already decided....then it is good that way,". We could
see that he told her to get a rest for 'tomorrow's journey'. He had fully
expected her to return to the Human World with him. Wasn't that clear enough? As
for her? It was for him that she left him suddenly one night, even though we
could see that it pained her to do so. It is for him that she had to act cruelly
so that Byakuya will spare his life. It is for him that she denied her true
feelings (that she is becoming attached to the Human World), and it is for him
that she was willing to accept her punishment and die. Such heavy implications
are placed on their understanding and bond with each other shows that it
surpasses comradship on every level. Chad and Ichigo are comrades. Yet Rukia and
Ichigo's relationship is also greatly different from Chad and Ichigo's. Every
single scene of their reunion and separation was done in double or full pages,
if not more. What do you think the author is trying to tell us if there is
nothing more than 'comradeship' going on? We don't see such heavy emphasis on
the emotional impact placed in these drawings and panels when Ichigo and Chad
meet again, when Ichigo and Ishida meet again, when Ichigo and Inoue meet again.
Fast forward into the Arrancar Arc. He was deep in depression when Chad, Tatsuki
and Inoue were hurt. No-one, if you remember, could cheer him up. His father's
normality kick to his face couldn't. Orihime's gentle reassurance couldn't. It
was Rukia's re-appearance in his life, Rukia's words that struck a deep nerve in
him. If you were in love, everything that person says, or do, will affect you,
no matter what. Fast forward to a few chapters. Ichigo as we know, repeatedly
refused to join the Vizards. He snapped and gave in, in the chapter after Rukia
was hurt. And that was also the chapter where Orihime had caught Ichigo looking
so tenderly and utter misery at Rukia. Tell me, have we seen Ichigo with such a
face like that in all 241 chapters of Bleach when his friends or family were
hurt? We see it in this chapter because the author wants to stress to us
readers, that THAT look IS important. You said that Rukia is a shinigami, and
she didn't want people to protect her. That's true, that was what Rukia said to
Ichigo when he looked at her with guilt on his face. She said, "Do you
think you are responsible for my injuries? My injuries are my mistake. I am not
so weak that I need your protection." That is Rukia for you. But do we see
Ichigo listening? No. He went to the Vizards anyway, to get rid of his problem,
so he can protect everyone, including her. In the Soul Society Arc, Ichigo said
to Rukia, "Your opinions are rejected. I am going to drag you out no matter
what. I am going to save you, no matter what you say." He knows she is
stubborn. But he wants to save her, protect her anyway.
Even if you do not acknowledge these subtle romantic hints, that is fine. But it
is a fact that their relationship is the main relationship of Bleach, and one
that undeniably has the most potential to develop into romance.

I can't decide! Inoue and Ichigo is good, but they're more of a brother-sister
relationship... although Inoue really really loves Ichigo.

However much I like the Inoue/Ichigo pairing, I'm kind of hoping he doesn't end up with anyone, and Kubo leaves it to our imaginations.
