I'm not sure about that, maybe when i'm around 17 or 18 years old i'll give up on anime. I mean when you're an old grandpa or grandma don't you think you'll have oredy forgotten about anime? Think about it, i've only like anime for 5 years now. The most years you could even like anime was 10 at most (maybe more, correct me if i'm wrong) but that's still a lot!

I've oredy kinda gave up on anime...but i at least read manga still. Sooner or later they'll make a new japanese animation that will be even more popualer than anime. So we just all have to wait and see what happens ^^

I already only read manga sparingly, the money spent/time enjoyed per volume for manga is always hard to swallow...kinda like cigarettes I guess =P. So I could easily see myself quit reading those entirely in the not-so-distant future. As for anime tho, I easily watch more anime than regular tv. Sitcoms (Citcoms?) on tv lately just aren't funny, the canned laughter alone makes you just wanna hit your tv w/ a stick and scream "That wasn't funny! All your 'jokes' weren't funny for the last 30min!" There are rare exceptions like 2 1/2 Men but they're the exception, not the rule. So I think I'll prolly watch anime for a long, long time yet just for the laughter. I'd say the time I quit watching anime is the time I'm so old that the antics of the hundreds of animes w/ teenage leads just makes me feel even older.

This is an odd question to answer ... I mean, I stop watching anime sometimes, but eventually I get back to it due to time. But in terms of forever, I'm not sure, we'll see where my life leads me. I know I get bored of things easily, maybe when anime starts to suck in my eyes I'll stop, there's no way I can say when I'll stop ... As for manga, it is in the same boat. My dad still watches cartoons at his age, so why can't I watch anime when I get his age or older? I don't think it matters, unless you start to think "Oh, this is too childish for someone my age". It depends how you think, and I'm a child always at heart. It looks very unlikely I'll ever stop right now, but who knows?

Never. Im in this for the long run. Anime has shaped my future, and ill never get over it. And tahts fine, cause anime is so nice!

Let me just say that I'm approximately twice as old as some people that frequent this site. Therefore, I doubt the likability of anime will ever truly go away. It may fade, but it's here to stay!

Why ask this question? The age group of reading manga or watching anime in Japan is 2-80+. Manga or Anime is just one kind of entertainment. Why don't you ask your parents when to stop watching movies or silly soap drama? In japan there is alot of manga or anime with very serious plot and story lines. Manga and anime is just one kind of art form or media to bring out the artist messages, it can be entertain and with a deep meaning as well.
For example. Like "TOUCH". After 25 years, Japan still made a movie of it. So If your parents see you watch that movie will say something like "You finally grow up" or what. But if they saw you reading "TOUCH" manga, then they will say something like "Why don't you grow up?"

So All I am saying is.....Why have to stop. As long as Japan produce good animation, there is no point to stop, just like as long as Hollywood or Euro or any other conturies in the world produce good movies, we still go to watch it right?

I don't know if i'm gonna stop or if I do, but if i don't then it isn't so bad. I like anime now so if I continue on to watch anime then that's what i'm gonna do. Besides, if you stop watching anime it's because you choose to, right?

hell thas like askin what stage in life u'll stop watchin tv or movies. anime and manga are just things to do for entertainment, so i guess as soon as i want to stop being entertained, then ill stop.

Haha, some old people DO tend to stop watching t.v, and some old people DO watch anime, but the numbers die down the older the age group. Most of us say age doesnt matter,but in society these days, you are considered weird to be watching these things at 80. Some don't care, but some do get affected by these factors.

These are referring to people in America and Aus, of course. Japan will have much different views about this

People who aren't into it and think they are only cartoons (in a derogatory sense) are always going to have something to say. What I tell my friends is 'you don't have to like it, just accept that I do and that's that'

..*grins* no- manga/ anime to me, is just like a book or another tv show.. so i don't see any reason why i should stop read/watching them.. for as long as it reinvents itself without becoming dreck / appaling.. otoh, i do have faith to the Japanese people.

I don't think I'll ever stop watching anime. It's always fun to watch anime series, so I don't see the point of stopping, unless the anime series that will come out suck.

I don't think I'll ever stop. I may cut back on in a bit for school/work but I don't think I'll ever completely stop watching anime.
