hello i wish to address the fact that i am now a Restricted Member and do not
think it is just. the facts r i was put on Restrictcion because i was accused of
enlarging scans. this accusation is untrue for the following reasons:
1. after the 1st unjust warning i was confused but decided to reread the rules
and found nothing in them that i did wrong as i didnt resize any images.
2. i am a member that truly enjoys MT and trys hard to aheare to the rules
3. i did NOT do any enlargeing. i find the scans and upload them as IS i DO NOT
modife them at all the only scans i have ever ever resized were my own and thats
cause they were too big and even doing that is rare for me.
4. if the scan quailty is not up to par i wish the moderater had told me which
scans had the appearice of being enlarged so i could weed out the scans i find
or had in my collection so that i do not upload bad scans as this is not my
intent to cause problems or to make more work for the reviews of said images
[not that this is really a point i\'m just still wondering about it.]
i really enjoy MT and wish to be a full member again as soon as possible i am
not trying to make trouble or anger anyone please understand that.
i hope to have made my case clearly. thank u for ur time.
i keep it short... you may not have done the enlarging but it may have been
enlarge by the 2nd party which you get the scan from... thus resulting in you
being warned for enlargement...
Basically it was negligence of not inspecting carefully the scan that cause you
to be restricted... Usually enlarge scans are easily noticed... it does not have
smooth lines and images are jagged... But some enlarged scan are harder to see
but still it usually have lousy quality and the picture are blurred... take note
that sometimes the person you took the scan from, trys to hide the
imperfection...
i feel bad that you did get enough assistance for your doubt after the first
warning about the scan and unknowingly ended up being restricted.
Quote by deathsseraphimyes it did
a great deal but is there anyway to my becomeing a normal member
again?
i believe it is said before that restricted member can be unrestricted only by
the moderator who restricted you... For now the only best way is to be at your
best behaviour during your restriction and participate as usual... The moderator
will decide for him/herself when it is best to lift your restriction and note
that it is believed to take a long span of time before they will lift the
restriction...
(So dont expect to be unrestricted within a week)
Edit: if you want to argue more talk to the mod that restrict you... I believe
if your reason is justifiable enough she will unrestrict you.(but i believe that
odd is against)
Just to clarify that the issue regarding resizing is covered in the Policy I'll
quote it:
Quote: All submissions
are to be submitted in Joint Photographic Experts Group (JPEG) format and may
not exceed five (5) megabytes in file size. Resizing of submissions to meet
minimum size criteria is prohibited.
Enlarging is bad because
it renders the image useless for wallpaper making purposes which is the main
reason for the scan gallery to be. And as a submitter it is your responsibility
to make sure the scans you submit comply with the community's requirements. In
other words, if the scan resizing was done by you or someone else does not
matter, you submitted it breaking the rules. I've been looking at the
quarantined items in your gallery (the recent ones) and they are very blurry,
which is a sign of a resizing masked by blur filters. So the warnings are not
really unfair.
When you received the first warning the normal procedure would have been that
you got informed (not only by reading the Policy) of the ways of the community.
I do understand you feel our actions seem a bit strict but you have to realize
that the size of the community requires us to take action in such a
way.
As for your chance of becoming a regular member again, restrictions are
temporary and their duration will depend on your behavior in the community. All
I can say is be patient and if you do things right you'll go back to being one.
First off, it does not matter at all who did the enlarging. If a scan shows
visible signs of enlarging it is not acceptable and should not be
uploaded.
I've reviewed your gallery again, and I stand by my decision.
The first warning was issued for this scan, which
displays many compression artifacts (and on top of that, I've seen the original
sized image; it's not nearly that big).
Now, normally I trust personally scanned images to be of good quality, but in
your case I've come across many that are suprisingly low quality. I suspect
you're trying to scan images that are simply too small to make good scans of
(maybe 2" x 2" or smaller). I usually let these go without an official
warning, and that's what I did with yours.
What got you the second warning was this scan. I won't
accuse you of enlarging it yourself, but I simply refuse to believe that you
couldn't tell it was enlarged when you were submitting it.
Let me remind you again, it does not matter who did the enlarging. If a scan is
obviously enlarged, whoever submitted it is responsible since they didn't look
at it carefully before submitting it.
And just because I sense it coming... Yes, "just" two enlarged scans
is enough for two warnings and a restriction, especially considering how many
borderline scans I found when I looked through your scan gallery
carefully.
You will be unrestricted if I feel you understand the rules enough not to break
them again. I can only advise you to take this gracefully about this and not
draw attention to yourself. I will determine how long your restriction will last
myself, but I will tell you now, it will be two months at the very least.
i understand what u r telling me Marissa but the Jinki Extend scan was not even
a scan i posted that is was a sceen cap from one of the offical websites and all
i did was very badly fix the fingers on the robot i will even give u the website
link to prove it http://www.tv-asahi.co.jp/jinki/ i
dont think its fair to say i enlarged that scan when its just a sceen cap thou i
didnt relize the backgroud got a distoted when i saved it after trying to fix
the robots fingers i think its the compression settings i'll have to try and fix
them but i didnt enlager it. anyway the only reason i drew attenion to myself as
u put it was because i think its only fair to tell a person excally what they
did wrong not treat them like a common criminal. thank u very much for ur taking
the time to explain to me.
I don't know what you're trying to prove by showing me the original picture,
it's much smaller than the one you submitted. Additionally, the policy states
clearly that screenshots are not allowed to be submitted as scans. I'm willing
to believe you misinterpreted that part of the policy, but I'm not about to
believe that your image editing program enlarges things all by itself.
it doesnt enlarge the image but my sceen size is widescreen so the screen cap
was as large as that before i edited the image to fix the fingers on the robot
and messed up the compression settings but dont belive if u dont want to its
really not the point anyway to agree or disagree on one single image. i got the
answer to my question so theres really no need to contatue here. i'd like to
thank everyone who took the time to help me. anyway see u all around ^^
also Marissa i wonder why u think everyone thinks u suck? i dont i just think ur
doing ur job and no i'm not trying to butter u up its just the way i feel. thank
u for explaining what i did wrong. i will do alot better next time.
you arent even allowed to submit screen caps to Minitokyo as far as i know, well
to go into the gallery anyway, as they are not 1) your creation, be it
wallpaper/indy art. 2) A scan from a magazine or poster/other printed
sources

A little tip on submitting scans; it would be ill-advised to take scans from certain freeboards, which some images have gone through prior resizing.
i've never taken scans from image boards but i'll keep that tip in mind for later usege.
