first of all i still don't get your discriptions of "yaoi" or "yuri" but since you metioned "hentai" i'm guessing there both form of something sexual? O_o i'm just guessing here... fix your grammar a bit more?

Yaoi is lesbianisim, Yuri is homosexuality, Hentai is Perverted (the actual translation of the word). Wheather someone feels that they should look at material of this kind is very personal and is usually based on their religious and social backgroud. I simply have little to no interest in such topics in a story. If it is small and a sideline to the story it does not bother me, but if it is the reason the story exists, I will skip it.

oh..well, if this is what the forum is about, then it's the person's decision. to be honest if i had to pick, neither. i'm not saying i'm against lesbians or gays, it's just i'm not the kind of person that likes the same gender.

Like codewulf said, it all depends on your background and beliefs. I personally enjoy ecchi/hentai/yuri/whatever, but my g/f acts like "eww, you like that stuff!" So it's all really a matter of opinion. But I personally don't see the big deal in it. I just don't like the people who talk shit to others about hentai just because they themselves don't like it.

i think it all really boils down to the person's character as to whether its "ok" or "healthy" for him.her to watch yuri/yaoi/hentai.

personally, i think yuri and yaoi is ok, but i don't like hentai because...its porn.and well, i think porn is distateful.

by watching too much yaoi/yuri, a person can start to think that it's normal and although it's not wrong to be a homo, its not particularly favourable because of circumstances.so if you're a person who is likely to be influenced greatly by what you see, perhaps yaoi/yuri should not be what you're watching

I think it's fine...people have different elements that may do it for them, so why not let them do their thing?

In my opinion, it depends on your age and maturity. If you're..hhmm...for example: 14, I'd think I'd perfer that age group looking at yuri or yaoi, depending on it's lvl of romance (if you get my point there. >.>) HENTAI however...it's pretty much anime porn of which is not very meant for that age. I don't think hentai is very good. Then again, people have different tastes and beliefs in things as well as religious beliefs, so I can't say anything for a fact. My point is that it should be based of age/maturity and your tastes and beliefs.

its the other way around my friend, yaoi is the gay, brokeback mountain stuff, yuri is the girl on girl!

but I like yaoi (a little). I read fanfictions yaois of several animes but I nerver see Gravitation or Loveless for example T.T

personally, i don't mind yaoi or yuri. hentai, i'm not too fond of. but really, i can't say. i haven't watched much, if any yaoi, yuri, or hentai. and even if i had, it's really up to the person watching it if they like it or not. people have their opinions, and if one person hates it, another could love it. every person has different tastes. i don't think that people should bash others just because they like or don't like yaoi/yuri/hentai. for some people it's okay, for some it's not. it doesn't matter to me. i won't bash people for liking it. all i can say is that it's the person's choice.

Well, it's okay to took at all of them, you shouldn't hate people on their preference. I like watching hentai, and yuri is all right too, but I'm still uncomfortable with yaoi.

None of those things make me sick. Hentai is weird, it's boring, and I have little interest in it. But both yaoi and yuri are plausible and wonderful relationships between two (or more) characters. Except it can get a little tedious in the same way het gets tedious; too much blind romance leads to barf.

I think the right question would be why would not be ok?

There are no better or worst. It all depends on the person's tastes, for example I'm pure yaoi, I can tolerate both hentai and yuri (tough this one makes me shibber) but if I sais that was the best an horde of people would jump at me just b/c either they don't like it or just have their personal fav.

-Hentai is just pure anime porn (most of the time the story is plainly not a romance matter, but just the sex which gets like 80% of screen time anyways O_o)
though sometimes yuri could be like that too, since hentai and yuri are often in the same catagory or grouped up together in the same anime. (girl on girl, very common in hentai series)
lets just say yaoi and yuri are alot more "pure" then hentai.
-unlike hentai, yaoi and yuri are more based on the relationship, and the romance in the story, "more of the forbidden love without all the lust". (most of the time that is)
"I love you, but I can't" type of stuff.
if you like yaoi or yuri your more into the story or conflices between the charatcers. Im not saying hentai doesn't have it, but hentai something purely for your enjoyment to drool over.
but im sure yaoi and yuri helps poeple be more opened minded.
of course its ok to watch/look at them. Normally... girl like yaoi, seeing 2 hot guys is hot and its the opposite to guys, they like yuri because to them seeing 2 girl together is hot. and hentai is for both, to pleasure all those lonely people out there.
