I'll be spending a few months over there, and I want to gather some ideas of places I should put on my list to visit. What kinds of ideas do you all have?

i would go to Tokyo because of the ridiculous technology and Okinawa for the beautiful, green, rolling hills and mountains. I'm going to go to Japan in a few years, hopefully.

kyoto. very traditional japan with technological advances of course.

i would go to osaka cus i liekl the place. Its pretty cool... and uhh definately osaka. I mean biklotus lives there and shes cool. Uhhh i think toyko is overrated.

I would go anywhere in Hokkaido because I like cold weather and nature.

mmm. I was thinking of Kagoshima for the food, and Okoyama for some of the greatest scenery. Does anyone else have any ideas?

I guess Tokyo since it's the most popular place in Japan, lol. Check out the Wangan, ladies, food and etc. I'll go to Saitama also I heard there was good touge action there. Okinawa? Man, I love the warm weather and beach. Plus I heard it was a good place. =P For anime, I think they would have them anywhere in Japan. Lol. So doesn't bother me where I go to get it. Also I want to climb Mount. Fuji. ^_^

Everywere! Tokyo, Kyoto, Nara... There are soo meny things to see. And I heard theat they whit the train it won't teke long to ghet from one city to another. I never whet to Japan but I like to read travel gides (not like Bridget from Tokyo Mew Mew ) and I think Kyoto is a very beautiful city.

I agree everywhere! There is just so much to see and experience that to single out one or two cities alone would be unjust. Depending on what it is you want to see and experience; like nature, techno, cuisine, tradition etc, perhaps get onto a tourist help site for Japan and take it from there. I myself would love to follow the tradition and religious routes as well as the path of the 5 rings.

Id want to go to a maid cafe at first to absorb the atmosphere,than go anime shopping like crazy!If I went there I dont think I'll ever come home,theres way to much stuff I would want to do.I'd probably marry a japanese woman so that I could become a citizen.

I'd travel up and down the country if I were going to be there for a while. I'd like to visit alot of the historic sites, temples, palaces, etc...

mmm, I'm Jap, so first I'd go Hokkaido to visit my grandparents. But after that I'd love to go and visit Kyoto ^_^ I love the way they speak ^_^

Wow alot of you folks seem to like Okinawa. I myself love living there. I dont get out much though, all that anime I download, and buy from onlines stores.

For Okinawa check out all the Historical sites, castle ruins, and rebuilt castles. Beaches, Ocean Park Expo, shopping!

I will try to hit Tokyo next year, see Fuji-san. North has snowboard, snow festival in Sapporo vacation time for me next year I hope!

Well if you hit Okinawa before August next year, look me up. I have a truck to drive around, and dont mind showing folks around.
