What Scary movie's your top Choicee? How did you did discover it? What scene freaked you out the most?

Comments Welcome.

Well, when I was a kid: "The Blob" - "The Fly" - "Hellraiser"

Watching television back in Italy.. ^__^

Uhm, a lot of scenes freaked me out... ;D

I have seen the scariest movie in the world. It has brutal graphics, like you have no idea how it is so damn realistic, and people die in brutal ways.I wasn't allowed to watch it but i sneaked and watch it while my parent weren't home.

Brokeback Mountain O_O

the one rob zombie directed

The 1st Alien movie.

Shutter-it's one of thailand's horror movie.I suppose it's got the same effect as The Ring(Jap). It's deadly, man.

I guess Saw 2 was pretty scary, especially because you see what the people are being put through. The tension was too much for me when I saw it, I couldn't wait for the ending! And the plot twists of the series are impecably done.
By the way, Rob Zombie directed 2 movies, "House of 1000 Corpses" (and I agree it is very scary, not for the faint of heart!) and "The Devil's Rejects", a sequel to House of 1000 Corpses.

Silence of the Lamb....and any movies by Alfred Hitchcock.

For me it's definitely Tales from the Hood, I'm just watching this movie and it still gives me chills and the twist near the end scared the S@$# out of me!

here' s a plot summary from IMDb.

When three drug dealers (Samuel Monroe Jr., Joe Torry, and De'aundre Bonds) are called to a funeral parlor to collect a stash of drugs, they are greeted by the creepy, eccentric Mr. Simms (Clarence Williams III), who proceeds to tell them four moralistic tales of terror regarding the deceased who lie in his parlor. The first tale concerns a man murdered by crooked police officers (Tom Wright) and the officer who begins hearing his voice from beyond the grave (Anthony Griffith) to avenge his death. The second story deals with a boy named Walter (Brandon Hammond), the monster who torments him (David Alan Grier), and the teacher who realizes that something is wrong (Rusty Cundieff). The third story deals with a white supremacist running for governor (Corbin Bernsen) who lives in an old house with a history of racial violence and who refuses to heed the warnings of the supernatural presence that occupies it. Finally, the fourth story deals with a career criminal (Lamont Bentley) who agrees to undergo a horrific behavioral modification program overseen by a government-employed scientist (Rosalind Cash). The stories each become gradually scarier as Mr. Simms go on and as the drug dealers begin to lose their patience, until they are ultimately given what they have come for - and find that there is something much more evil to the funeral home than they ever realized.

B. Witch Project 2. It's the one. Why ? Well me and my dad couldn't watch it at 12 AM... We had to w8 untill the next day, and try it while the sun was on the sky :D

Scary Movie 1. Lol no, the scariest movie I seen is 100% The Exorcist. I couldn't sleep for weeks! Than again Jason X nearly made me to puke! But Dracula (classic)? Nah, It was even a bit funny.

I am not a big fan of scary movies, if i ever want to watch a scary movie it would have to be in the daytime, with the lights on and a big blanket to cover my head. and yes i am a scary cat. anyways the movie that i saw in the dark right before i went to bed was the B. Witch Project. that movie scared the living day life out of me.

"The Exorcist" for me too! This is really scary! I had dreamed the evil after this movie... o_O

:nya:

Texas Chainsaw Massacre... the 2003 version, not the old one. Damn that movie was creepy. Seriously, the ending scene nearly made me soil my underdaks.

Alright, this may not be scary at all, but it really scared me when I was a child. If I'm not wrong the title is "The Ultimate Disaster Movie" with Mr Bean sneezing on the famous Whistler's Mother painting and ruining it. Until today, seeing the painting just gives me the creeps.

i hate scary movies cuz i am so tense throughout the whole ordeal...but when i was younger i watched 'Long time dead' and i got freaked.

"Suspiria" by Italian director Dario Argento. I guess it would be qualified as a 'supernatural slasher.' The first ten minutes of the movie contain one of the freakiest death sequences I've ever seen.

...also...

"Cape Fear" Take your pick, both the original (with Robert Mitchum) and the remake (with Robert DeNiro) are equally chilling. It's about an ex-con who terrorizes the family of the lawyer who failed to keep him out of prison. The freakiest scene is in the remake: the villian brutalizes his victim (a young woman) by twisting her arm to the breaking point, and then biting off her cheek...all before beating her to a pulp.

...Lastly, there is the recent gorefest, "Hostel." Eli Roth has gained a reputation with the degree of gore in his films (i.e. Cabin Fever), but this film pushes it. Not to sound rude, but anyone who doesn't have some kind of reaction to what happens in this movie should have their head checked.

I don't watch scary movies anymore but as a kid the child's play movie's had

scared the crap out of me. That movie was what started me on the path of not

sleeping with a teddy bear anymore

HAHAHAHAHA! Especially if you went with your best friend to watch it.

Horror and comedy are the two most devaluated genres in the movies. Is difficult to find good ones.

And there are opnes that are good and I didn't like, as "The Ring". But I can't deny it was one of the best conceived, acted and directed.

I like old (and not so old) school:

1. The Exorcist
2. Alien
3. The Shrine
4. Coppola's Dracula
5. The Ring
6.Coppola's Frankestein

Yeah, I forgot The Blair Witch Project. I think it didn't came to my mind because the 2nd dissapointed me so much.

Whanna get really scaried?

Read H.P. Lovecraft tales. Not all of course. Because he had a long life (well, not long, he died of cancer, but enough to write many stories) he had some bad tales at the beggining and the end of his career.

Lovecraft created and ended a whole new genre in horror: the cosmic horror. No, it's not prescily about aliens. Lovecraft it's only second to E.A. Poe, and after reading him you'll want to trow all your Stephen King books to the garbage

Read:

1. Pickman's model
2. The call of Chutulchu (whatever that's written)
3.The color out of space
4.The Red Wood Horror
5. The strange case of Charles Dexter Wrigth
6. The Dunwich Horror (not so good, but for starters)
7. The Hound
8. The messenger at the portal
9. The Horror museum
10. Under the piramids

That's but a few of the good ones that I could recall.

One advice: don't believe that a book such as Lovecraft's "Necronomicon" exists. It never did. It was Lovecraft's invention, and he told so during all his life, but none of his reader's believed him. Some satanist wanted to gain some money (like painter Giger) and took some Lovecraft's lines and mixed it with garbage from Anton Lavey. The result are evil hybrids. Don't feel tempted, they'll only fool you.

But Lovecraft's stories are great.

My vote definitely goes to The Ring. There's something about the paranormal and bizarro that gives me the willies.

To tell you the truth, i've never watched any scary moveis in my life....(a little bit embrarassed)...

1) Texas Chainsaw Massacre, my friend saw it too and now hes scared to go to Texas, and my friend Aris is moving there next yr.. o_0

2) Saw III, I saw the previews for it and thought, 'its not gonna be scary', and it was to me, haha x_x

::others::

3) The Grudge/Grudge 2, that movie...was just..plain stupid..(to me atleast...) I didn't really understand it, and I wasn't screaming or anything at any scenes..

4) The Exocist, I didn't think that movie was scary either, just, iono...I didn't get it lol

5) Freddy Cougar, I was scared to sleep the night I saw them all (it was a marathon on a few yrs ago X-P ) and I was afraid to sleep cuz I thought I'd be killed in my dreams T_T

6) Pet Cemetary and some other movie (I forgot lol), Pet Cemetary..I was afraid to have pets cuz I thought they'd come outta the ground and try to kill me ( XD ) I saw that movie...when I was about, 9 yrs old? and I didn't get another pet 'til I was 11 yrs old..Isn't that sad? X-P

War of the Worlds. o_o; That was some scary stuff.

Or the original Nightmare on Elm Streets, those were scary too.
