it's chinese! if you learn chinese in depth, other languages are like cake walk..

i think that it is tamil because the words are totally different from chinese characters and malay !
and the indians have to read that ! and i dun think that not much people would want to learn tamil since the words are hard for people who r not indians to read and write and the pronounciation must be very accurate or else it will mean a different thing !

Really you guys. The most difficult language is Finnish but for the Finnish it's easy. English so easy and you guys really think it's difficult. Withought English you would survive for Swedish language courses.

English is the hardest language to learn. But everyone who already knows english thinks its easy because they already know the basics.

Definately Quenya. Trying to learn and write Elvish is freakn hard. Far out its killing me here. The sentence structure and stuff...

well chinese and mongolian probably (totally random) English is hard to learn but poepel only think that it is easy because so many peopel can speak a few wrods of the language

chinese

I think French and Spanish is really hard to learn, but I didn't have to learn them... But when I hear mexican speak they go like jhmgtrujhgfuighf to me ... ~_~

Quote by morri18I think it depends in the person and ur native laguage. My native laguage is spanish and for me is really hard to learn English and Japanese. it hard to learn English because of the pronuntiation and the grammar, specially the verbs, they drive me crazy!, and I want to learn Japanese but the grammar is way to difficult for me.
I've talk to other people about this subject and they've told me that the easier laguages are French and Italian and the most difficult laguages are Spanish, Chinese, German, and Russian.

my native language is german ^^ and i have to say that german is really hard to learn *don't think thats so easy, really* , because of the hard tone +for asian people like my parents who are vietnamese it's really hard to speak, cuz viet is a very soft language* plus german grammar sucks,... x_X* viet, english or japanese, their grammar is towards german much easier, i promise.

Tja, deutsche Sprache, schwere Sprache, was mein Mathematiklehrer immer zu pflegen sagt! ;)

to the dialect... uhm yes, for northgermans *berlin rulez X3* like me, don't understand everything in bayern (south) hihi, but i think germany is not the exception with all this dialects

I think that English is the hardes language to learn because English has such a wide vocabulary and the grammer is so hard to get. My mom still says, "How is you?" Especially if you didn't learn English at an early age. Chinese is pretty hard too. Anything that isn't a romantic language. If you learn Latin, then you can learn French, Spanish...

chinese as many here

japanese i think it is hard but I am trying to learn little by little.

Man everybody has a lot of difficulties. Mines would be Chinese, and other latin languages.

Japanese is so easy to learn but Spanish is very hard for me and i f**king live in brownsville, tx which is right next door to mexico. also did you people know that Matamoros in english mean kill the guards.

well since i was born in the us and know english, i wouldnt say it's that hard, hehehehe. but i think German is hard, i tried to pronounce the words and they wouldnt come out right...i was like forget it....

Chinese is hard! I speak Chinese. But learning to read and write is ebil! And the intonations must be hard for anyone that learns a different language.

English is now common enough that anyone will pick up at least a little bit of it.

But y'know, even though a lot of languages are based in Latin... LATIN IS FREAKIN' HARD! Not so much the vocabulary. No, the vocabulary is very easy, but the grammar is extremely complex. EVERY FREAKIN' WORD HAS ABOUT 15+ DIFFERENT FORMS! different for every gender, block, declinations, part of speech...

ah, good times trying to remember all 15 forms of the word "this" and when to use each...

not to mention the grammar sounds like yoda-speak to the English-speaking ear. ~_~

/rant.

Hmmm... I kinda know chinese, japanese, malay, indonesian, english, and tiny itty bitty bit of french. I think latin, french, well, all the roman languages are rather hard to learn. Chinese is hard to learn, speaking wise because I never got the tones right. God... the others are pretty easy. I guess, tho, I haven't really tried learning the more exotic languages, like finnish, swedish, arab, thai, or anything like that. So, I can only speak from what I have attempted.

This all depends on what your first language is. For example learning a language with similar syntax to you native language is easier than moving from English to French for example. Also while Japanese supposedly is quite a simple language, due to it being so vastly different to English, English speakers often struggle with it as Japanese also tend to have diffuculty learning English.

Well it's hard to tell, it's also depend on the person's background to learn a language. If you study English, then somewhat it is easy to learn French, but if you're Vietnamese and you learn English and French, it's also easy to learn French because Vietnamse and French have a similiar sentence structure, plus English and French have some words that resemble each other... It's really hard to tell, I think to learn to speak a language is not that hard but to learn their Grammar and their meanings, it's very hard.

Yeah, the language and the words are easy to learn, and grammar is hard.

dots... chinese, japanese and english is pretty easy(my native lanuage is japanese(Dad) and chinese(mum)), the only lanuage i can't seem to master is German....

my native language is chinese,i've learnt chinese for 12 years still i'm not confident enuf to say that i master chinese language.n when i am reading japan words with kanji i can guess what it mean n 80%+ correct.my point is: chinese is surely the most difficult language,n once u have nice chinese language basic, japanese is just piece of cake

japanese

Chinese without a doubt. Pronunciation is the keyword in this language. If you speak with low tone voice, or sound a different pitch you'll most likely end up saying a completely unrelevant word you wanted. Plus, there are more than fifty thousand hundreds of chinese characters all together.

english if u dont already know it. it can be very diffricult to learn. i mean i dont think one person alive knows every word of the english language.
