I don't let my parents and relatives disrespect my likes and dislikes. I respect
their preferences. But, there's one thing: I'm 31 and I pay my bills. I think
when you get your place, it's easier to get your respect.
They poke fun at my interest in anime and manga, but they know how big of an
influence it's had in my life. I think they respect it for the most part. That
and they buy me anime/manga stuff on holidays. ^^ I watch anime with my mom
sometimes. She seemed to enjoy Last Exile...
My mom threatened me not to watch anime. But when she saw that my manga was in
Korean, she thought it was a wonderful opportunity to 'practice my native
language' Excuse me, I'm American! My dad at first tried to look disapproving
but then he got kinda interested and reads Garfield and Naruto . I got
furious when he folded the covers haha
My mom tried time and time again to band me from anime, but I never stop! As
long as I can continue to hide my fansubs from her, I'm still in buisness!
Nope. I take care not to watch the really racy/explicit stuff around my mom, and
she doesn't mind. She even asks me to put on Howl's Moving Castle sometimes,
since she actually likes it
No, not really. (this coming from a 28-year old who helps with paying the bills
and family and has a full-time job) And they don't realize that I've got more
DVDs (a great majority of them are anime) than my relatives.
Not at all. As long as I do my work and get the job done, they don't bother me
whether I watch anime all day long or not.
I've got plenty of anime DVDs and they never comment much about them.
Never, though that brings to question do they know every kind of anime (take
that however you choose...) there is. But my parents dont particularly care, but
like everyone else, it is because I keep up on my work (if I didn't, anime would
be used as a scapegoat for my failings... let's not hope it comes to that!).

They think its immature and slightly silly, but they also klnow that I'm nearly 20, live away from home and am capable of making my own decisions.

the only time is if they see that im still awake at around 5am. but they just tell me to go to sleep
