well every time when i have bought a new game or i started watching a new
anime...
i get to focussed on it and it effects my school grades and
attention....
i even tried to take distance of it....
but it didnt work...
i just keep on thinking about it until ive finished the game or watched all
episodes....
and that takes a HELL of a time....
but lady luck has helped me for years but i should pay back the debt
someday....
ive had the same problem my grades droped dramatically when i first started
playing final fantasy X
all i could think about was how i was going to beat the next foe and advance
further into the game then finish it ..............my mom was really mad at
me......everyday after school i would race home to play
the bad thing was that i knew that it was efectin my grades...........but i
didnt care because its still happenin
I always dropped studying for games and anime. But I never let it hurt my
grades. Study soon as you go home for an hour or 2 then play :P or before you go
to sleep lol
When I was in grade 10, I use to play a MMO all night and hardly sleep at all
then go to school. Only class I didn't do good in was French class since I
didn't really care. Just remember learn from the asian work hard then play lol
I think it is true that "fun" stuff are a bad influance for the
school grades. I don't lose my attention at school, I do someting even worse, I
skip classes and watch the anime I want to watch. I am a good student, but I
have my ups and downs :P.
Something similar happens when I go out to much with my friends. I take care of
my mestakes after 2-3 days, the only thing that bothers me is that my parents
are not understanding me...
@Kazakian
Life ain't fair. That is a good thing . In other
words u had fun playing/watching anime while other got borred with homework and
stuff. Try to see the good part !
I suppose you could always resort to educational video games...but then I would
be forced to poke my own eyes out with playing cards.
It all depends how you balance out your work and gaming, leaving time set aside
for one thing or the other. Focus on one thing during its time, and the other
during the right time.
Yes of course! Try doing your work and put your anime-viewing device in a
different room so you don't think about it. THen study or do whatever you should
do but give youreself a break every now and then. Of course, I SAY this but here
I am MTing instead of studying (15 breaks/hour doesn't make good progress hehe)
I don't think so...
Coz... All you have to do is to know how to organise your time... ^^
Take my friend for an example... She organised her time... Like... For how long
she plays... And for how long she studys...
And keep to it... And she got real high marks in exams...
More higher than me... A person who only study when it is near examinations...
(I study only because my mum calls me to... hehehez...)
It would happen from time to time. But learn some self control. If you give
yourself up to every fun opportunity, then eventually you're going to lose
opportunities they you once had but had to drop because of things. Who knows, it
can go as far as drug usage!
Definately not if handled properly. At times in school I just studied and left
out the fun stuff, for me this made me start to dislike school and because of
that I didn't go as well. Having a bit of fun is essential to being sucessful at
school.
ometimes that happens to me. Most of the times i try to finish my hw as fast as
i can if i know i can do it fast! anyways it can affect very badly and have its
concecuences
It depends, self control is very important in this case. I admit sometimes it
does take my attention away when I am supposed to be doing school work, but I
still do alright in school.
For me if i get a new game or watch a long anime, my grades would remain the
same or even go up sometime lol. I just end up spending the whole night doing my
work and look very cranky in the morning for school. But as of now i guess i
can't do that anymore since i am pretty much dead now because of my schedule.

has any of you have the same prob as me?

lolz, i took homeschool and it was much easier to find time to do the stuff i love like watching anime or reading manga... =3
Hah, Depends on what type of fun.
I always dropped studying for games and anime. But I never let it hurt my grades. Study soon as you go home for an hour or 2 then play :P or before you go to sleep lol

As long as you don't slack off so much that your grades drop below passing, I don't see anything wrong with it =]
well, ya it does bring down my sch grades so tt is why i normally play after my exams
lol, it's the other way around with me, since i have much more free time to do things i want to do for fun, my grades got astronomical :P
yup...i really try to work...but watching tv/anime is just so addicting....
Sadly... YES. Everytime i start watching anime or playing a good game ( like FINAL FANTASY) school starts going crazy. sometime life isn't fair

You have to find the right time to do it. Doing something obsessively will of course affect you. It can help, but it can hurt too.

Haha.. not really.. I think it all boils down to time management.. haha

Well, it all depends on yourself.
My grades was pretty good even though I seldom studies
What you're saying is perfect excuse for parents to ban you from anime and game. But I perfectly understand the problem here.
