Obviously, I am not from america, but the one thing I know for certain is that
america 'bastardizes' anime. This is obvious when I saw the opening sequence of
Shaman King; the entire lyrics was
replaced with "Shaman King" repeated multiple times while playing rap
music in the background.
Because, as I said earlier, I am not from america, I would like to know WHICH
animes were bastardized.
IMPORTANT: PLEASE READ THE LIST FIRST IF THE
ANIME YOU ARE ABOUT TO ADD WAS POSTED !BEFORE! ADDING THEM.
The ones I know for sure were 'bastardized':
Yu-Gi-Oh!
One Piece
Shaman King.
I don't know for certain, but I'm guessing Dragonball Z is one of them. Hard
rock riffs coupled with the "lyrics" going
"dragondragondragondragon... dragon ball ZEEE" again and again. Sounds
like bastardization to me.
Technically, I guess Robotech counts. Which would technically include the shows
Super Dimensional Cavalry Southern Cross and Genesis Climbed Mospeada, who were
edited to fit into the whole Robotech continuum, even though the shows
themselves aren't related to each other.
Also, very minor change in Disney's release of Kiki's Delivery Service, where
the intro and ending theme is changed into something a bit more modern and
poppish.
naruto really sucks in english versions. in fact every english translation of
anime sucks! except chobits i admit its a little better. though i only chi's
voice. bah i think the voice actors are all not serious at all in translating
the anime. just some lame and half-done translation!
I know that any anime they show on cartoon network is pretty badly butchered. I
wish that America would just leave anime to the fansubbers. I mean goddamit,
I've recorded myself saying some of the dubbed lines and I put way more emotion
into it than the voice actors.
Naruto definetly. I hate Inu Yasha's dubbing too. And anything from
4kids. They killed Inu Yasha, oh wait, i started hating it my self, but still
the dubbing was one of the main reasons i started hating it.
And... and i didn't really like dubbing for Bleach. Ohh, poor Hitsugaya-kun, how
will he sound? >,<

Choose a word other than "bastardize." You all should know better than to intentionally use such language.
And this thread is only going to turn into another superlative, just not in the "best of" category.
