and now i'm not even that

You used to look at me with love and a fiery passion

now all i get is disdain and no respect

or try to cover things up
now all i get are white lies
and shifty looks

I used to think
all I needed was you
but now my heart is broken
and my spirit too

Those are some hard times. I wish your friend some better luck on finding her true love.

As for the poem, it sounds like someone rambling on about this and that. The rhythm is all broken. Considering what the poem is about, that is how someone would sound if they were breaking up and wondered why. So good job
