Sorry if this is a little random..... When would you consider someone old, like that you have to respect your elders thing.

Yeah id say 50 For sure to me that is when you are getting to that point

Wouldn't that depend on how old the person judging is? I mean, if someone asked me how old my parents were when I was 10 I would have said they were really old. Now that I'm older myself that age isn't 'old' to me. But if you're asking me right now (as a 19 year old), I''ll vote 'old' subjectively only as 60 years and older.

I agree with crsg...I mean. When I was little, 30 was like a century old to me. Now...I'd say about...50...60..sumwhere around there...

i reckon around 70+ would be considered getting fairly old, but even then they still have a good decent amount of years left :D

I would say 60 and above, though it all depends on the person's mentality.

by goverment standerds a "senior citizen" is at 65 i believe.

"once he/she was born" that's the fact, but if you were to ask 'when the wrinkles start appearing clearly on skin, then it's gotta be 40 ++ ;)

heh heh my mom is 53 and she has much energy to get me if i annoy her so i will say 60 lol!

I think 50+ is old... My mom is 53 too and she looks like around 45. But I already notice that she forgets things WAY easily and stuffs :D So I think she's ooooold~

oh...hrmmm....45 and above...hahaha...i call my parents old , hahaa my mum's 39...X-P...lol!....haha, wonder what she'd say if i ever show her this thread...hahaha...X-P...

i gotta say....40 and up..........

When you turn 20, you're already old. I'm in my 20's. Starting actually. I don't feel old, but I think I am.

70+, or perhaps even older... Into her late 70s, my grandmother was more active and involed in more projects than any other member of the family. The only thing that eventually slowed her down a bit was having to recover from an automobile crash.

It really depends on what usage of the word "old" is the intended one, however. Exactly how would you define it? :?

i'd say 60 and above... it varies with some ppl.. but the average age to be considered old might be 60 for me

For a guy 55
for a girl 45

ok...sry but i do not agree. my mom's close to 45 and she looks like 30 (many ppl don't believe her wen she says she's 40) and my father's older and well...he looks young too. Anyways, it shouldn;t be different for the sex either. If it was then it should be girls looking younger cause they're mainly more active than boys. Either way, they shoulc both be the same.

I think whether someone is old depends on the perspective. Most everyone is extremely young if you're using the point of view of someone that is in their 90s. if you're a little kid in, say, kindergarten, anyone maybe 18 and up would be old. Like i said, it's a matter of perspective.

30-ish? Considering mid-20's the peak of nearly everyone's life, at 30 you're gonna start feeling the effect of aging. Hell, I'm already starting to feel the effect of aging now... -_-'

It's difficult to properly define "old" as one's spiritual outlook can have just as great an influence as physical appearance. I've met a few people in their 30's who lack enthusiasm for life or the future. I see them as "old". On the other hand, a neighbour of mine (in his 60s) always carries an infectious kind of smile, is always interested in the latest gossip and exercises very regularly. Despite his advanced age, I cannot see him as old. He might as well be a youngster disguised in an old man's body.

Another way people determine how "old" a person is (and which seems to be the more common methodology) is by relativity. Take this general example: Kids will always regard anyone older than them as "old". Teenagers will look at people in their 20's as "much older than them". Someone in their 20s will regard anyone above 30 as "quite a bit older". The age comparison gradually shrinks in scale as one gets older. I'm sure a 90-year-old person will simply regard a 100-year-old person as a "fellow old retiree (or whatever)". Thus there is no way to define how old a person is as it is highly subjective.

It's not much of an answer but there you go. :)

I have no idea. Prolly depends on one's aspect on life and their perkiness.

hmmm

I would agree with this. even if a person is 100 years old, but they are still happy and enjoy their life they would seem younger to me than someone who is 30 but hates every part of their life and just wish it would end.

Around 40 plus bah, as long it`s 20 years older then me, must give fullest respect!
