hello everyone! I am worried about my pc's health. When I was browsing the WINDOWS folder I noticed a very noticeable amount of folders that starts with a $ - sign, in color BLUE font and with filenames relating with uninstall. But the most bothering thing is that almost all folders contain spunnist.exe. I am really bothered because there are a lot of them.

I search about spunnist.exe but I can't get a concrete description and information. I am worried if it is a virus or something related to that. I have an anti-virus and I scanned it with it and the result says that it is just a normal file.

I would really appreciate it if you could tell me about it.

First of all it's spuninst.exe not spunnist.exe. No wonder there is no solid info on this.
There is no need to worry about it because those are hotfixes such as
security patches, windows enhancements, or updated drivers. Most of them are
obtained through Windows Update.
Also they are mostly hidden so users will not mess around with them. I suppose
you have enable show hidden files?

oww sorry i typed it wrongly, but i search the net with the correct spelling. I did not activated viewing hidden files, but I can view them. I restored the folder settings to defaults, but still I can see them. Do you know how I can fix it?

I hope this helps... but seriously
I suggest you leave them alone.
If you don't want to seem them, just highlight all of them.
Then right click go to properties and check the "hidden" option.

Thank you so much! I will keep it hidden.^^

In Folder Options under the control panel there is an opion to show hidden files, make sure that is off if you actually want them to be invisible. Also you should tick the box about hiding system critical files.
