I'm not saying this one is the best but I think its
one of the best...
Ghost in the shell: stand alone complex
It's one of the few where you have to be smart
enough to keep up with the storyline and figure
out every single small thread of detail to know
whats going on. And theres tons of action so
theres no complaints in that department
Other than that one, Cowboy Bebop has
always been one of my favorites since the
very first time I seen it...
Normally I would say Neon Genesis Evangelion (since it's my favorite) but I
guess the best in terms of plot and animation is The Place Promised in our Early
Days. I haven't finish watching 5cm per sec so The Place is still the best anime
for me.
Best anime? Hmm, definitely Blood+ and Fullmetal Alchemist! Both are soooo
GOOODD! Absolutely amazing! The action scenes are totally superb! And the
characters are vey interesting as well. Edward, Alphonse and Mustang in
Fullmetal are really awesome! And the storyline is really cool too! The same
with Blood+, the characters are so cool! Saya and Haji are the BEST!
I think my best animes are:

and many more, they are about the same level (9-10 stars)
Uh... this is so hard to say that it's criminal, so I'll name the 10 titles I

Good plot, good character growth, a story with twists, action, romance....its got it all.
I would say Card Captor Sakura is the best. Then followed by The Melancholy of Suzumiya Haruhi.
Elfen Lied and Death Note.
Both where Perfect, as a third... I'd say Kanon 2006. the remake of the 2002 anime was Awesome
