i like both, tough i prefer modern cuz for me it's really important the drawing
and quality ^^, and modern ones have better quality of image and sound ^
I like modern anime because I'm really picky about quality. I like HD modern
anime because of all the details and crisp edges and nice colors. Old anime
usually lacks a lot of color and has a noise-like filter on it (especially the
really old ones) that kinda sucks all the color out of my life. Although there
are some really good old anime, seeing them in HD, improved colors and detail
will make them better.
I love both. In my eyes, if you find yourself picking one or the other than you
are not a true Otaku, just like the people that find constant repeats of popular
Anime series episodes to be monotonous are not Otaku at all even though they
claim to be. If you are a true Otaku then Anime, Manga, Eastern Style Video
Games are your drugs of choice and old or new, a hit from both it's all the
same. Carrying the same level of power of gravity no matter how old or new it
is.
Well, the story line matters for example NGE does not really matter it looks
like as it have a great story line. but the new look better and how good story
lines as well like FMA, Gundam Seed and GSD. They have great story lines and
they look great as well so I do like them more. There is one anime that I what
tosee because it looks great Last Exile and the tralier song is not to bad. My
favourite show is NGE directer cut that is just mind blowing good.
I usually like modern anime as the graphics are better. But some old animes are
good too ^_^
The old animes that I like usually have good storylines. ^_^
personally prefer modern... visuals much better... in every way..... OLD..
however can only come from what i grow up with, like ranma1/2... my favourite
anime of all time =) ... and one of my other favourites of all time is also
oldschool, tenchi muyo ova
I'd say modern anime, because I have the feeling that everything has to evolve,
it's like videogames, they complain because 2d games are now 3d, but it has to
be like that...... on the other hand, I have to respect old anime because
without it, modern anime wouldn't be possible.... but if you ask me..... it is
the only thing that old anime had...

I'm prefer modern anime coz have good point at visual and artwork. Usually anime that produce by 90s and higher.

i do prefer the old anime but not THAT old.
things like evangelion, to heart and akazukin chacha i consider old but still good
but actually, any would do as long as the story is great
and the graphics aren't too distracting to eyes.
i do love the newer animes like Rozen Maiden, Air, Basilisk and such.
They have the nicest character designs!

So, what exactly would be considered "old"? 20 years ago? Would 10 years be considered old? Or by "old" do you mean anime that predate CG animation?
