OMG it seems that humans are not the only ones to be homosexual or bisexual! :o I was researching on film noir for English and came across words i didn't know so i decided to click on them and one thing led to another - a serial killer, necrophilia X-O (its so disgusting!), to animal sexual behaviours! I was so surprised! Its really gross X-P, but it turns out that some species of animals use stuff in their environment the way adult humans use toys! o_0. Many zoos even have male penguins pairing off as couples and use stones to substitute for an egg! One particular zoo gave them a real fertilised egg and they raised the female chick successfully! :nerd: Another example is a pair of male swans which made a female swan lay her eggs, shooed her away, and raised the eggs by themselves! The thing is, they raised the cygnets even more successfully than normal male-female couples! I think its got to do with something like two males are better at protecting their territory and eggs than only one...

Anyway, i didn't know that! How many of you guys know about this? Or didn't you know until i posted

Well... that's it for now! I have more examples but it's already shocking enough for me ^_^'

rahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!
ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!
SERIOUSLY MAN! WATS THE WORLD GANA B NEXT? OK MAYB I DONT WANA NO! BUT THAT IS SO CHAT, BUT HEY u gota say... its actually sounds hilarious! ahahahahahahahaha LOL! i cant stop larfn!

I knew some stuff like this, about chimpanzees for ex, they masturbate and have lesbian sex (saw it in a Discovery documentary), but I didn't knew about swans and penguins. I honestly don't think it's homosexual ism, it must be something else, a behavior disorder, a hormonal issue or something. Oh well... this world IS falling apart after all...

Well... they did say that the heterosexual animals had more brain activity than ones that mate with members of their own sex... so it might be a disorder... :nerd: heheh ^^

I hope your not insinuating that homosexuality is a disorder of some sort because i belive it was in the 1970's that the APA(American Psycological Association) cleared that Homosexuality was not a disorder or a mental inbalance of any sorts, but a natural way of living.

As too the world falling apart i hardly think that homosexuals have anything to do with it, i think the majorty of bad acts in this world come from heterosexuals(and thats coming from a heterosexual), wars, genocide, and the denial of human rights come about usually due too predjudice, not unlike predjudice that is aimed at homosexuals, just at a higher intensity.

This is not a shock to me and it is a shame that more do not realize that homosexuality/bisexuality is natural, and bits of information like this are proof.

I couldn't have said it better. I've known about this for a long time, and this only proves that homosexuality/bisexuality is natural, and that humans are in no way superior or different from the animal kingdom; we're a part of it, not apart from it.

I learned a long time ago (Discovery Channel) that giraffes preferred homosexual relaionships. I was very surprised, but I guess giraffes have needs and wants too.

Wow... i guess the majority of people know about these things...

It's possible but it dosen't mean they'll except them as facts, or as proof that homosexuality/bisexuality isn't a sin or isn't unnatural...

Seems so obvious you're being sarcastic. >.>

FIRST OF THE 1ST.........

as mentioned before by others, homosexual in animals aren't new. It's also prominent among Bonobo apes[ http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bonobo ], which is said to be closer to humans' ability such as self awareness. yet, we still see nothing troubling with them. in fact, such act is part of their togetherness in their community.

to point out the errors here, i heard some alarmed conservatives claim homosexuality endangers the balance of human life cycle. but why aren't we see this [balance] happening in animals either?

i'm rather amused if some people put animals' homosexuality as sin. well, why isn't tigers' devouring others' flesh a sin? ;)

maybe, homosexuality is one of nature's birth control methods..

Not really anything new, but it's somewhat interesting in that homosexuality isn't unique to one animal.

i dunno about it, all i know, animal need a female to have sex, there's no homosexual animal....

Perhaps animals are just less choosy than humans. They mate with the opposite sex for the sake of reproduction, but have sex with members of either gender for the sake of pleasure.

Except for maybe the animals mentioned here and humans?
