I submitted this wallpaper earlier, but it got rejected, so I worked some time
on it, and now I wonder if it's good enough, or what more should I change in
it...
Here it is:
It features two of Hellsing Millenium organization characters - Rip Van Winkle
and captain Hans Gunsche, but since they didn't appeared in OVA yet, I had to
take pictures of them from manga. Any advices are welcomed.
The blue is definately something different from the last one. I like it though.
The contrasts between the manga is pretty neat and different from the other
wallpapers. I do think that the text comes out too strong and it doesn't seem to
fit with the wallpaper as well as the manga does. Maybe if you added some of the
patterns that are seen with the blue, or doubled the layer and added some
filters. Either way, it looks pretty nice!
My guess... (I like it the way it is...) but to make it flow better... you might
want to try cutting closer around the characters and blending them into the
background with the transparancy feature. Or
perhaps place Rip on the bottom with Hans in the back... with only 2 or 3 pics
tops. Also, you could get the pictures of Rip and Hans where they are both in
their 'attack' poses. If you want some scans, I'll send you them... just let me
know.
I can't make wallpapers very well, so I can't critique. However, I still like it
how it is.
Hm, I think you should make the blue thing stand out less. The text too, it
really is too contrasting and shiny compared to the rest of the elements.
Second, some textures would look good on this. In fact, if you don't plan to
vector the images, it would be better if you used some textures, indeed. It
would make the main characters stand out more too
Hate to rain on your parade, but the extraction of the characters isn't quite
there in some places. The blue seems out of place and unnecessary, and the text
totally overwhelms the characters. Make the text more transparent so that it's
part of the image not just sitting on top of it, and I'd reccommend doing
something abstract in the bg incorporating the red and yellow that you used in
the text.

some crits: the fonts of the type don't work so well here- i would delete all text and sign your name at the bottom at around 1 or 2 pt maximum.
the extraction needs more work- there is a lot of edge tear. have you tried the pen tool?

also the colors are contrasting and don't seem to mesh well.
