I perfer Intel but AMD is good because its cheaper and has a better processing speed. i guess it dpeends on which you perfer. AMD has a lower processory speed by it processes data much faster thatn Intel

All the AMD cpus are so cheap. I dunno why people prefer buying expensive Intel...I can't stand Intel CPU's anymore.

I prefere AMD cause is cheaper than Intel. I tkink my next processor will be Athlon 64 but only when Microsoft release FULL AND stable wersion of WinXP 64.

lol, well does Microsoft ever release a full and stable version of anything? Granted that's not quite fully fair, cuz' they're the target of many a hacker, but also, it's not like they're blameless either.

this exactly

+ 3Gbhz ^^ but I perfer processors 64 bits ^^

hmm.. i like both. actually i have an intel ^^

Quote by RandomshinichiI'd choose the upcoming K9s, i.e. the Dual Core Hammers. Those would be my fav, although I'm stuck with the Socket As for now, no money

Mmm.. dual core goodness inside.

Quote by TaMai prefer Intel cause they doesnt overheat.... and handle long processes better

AMD's new Athlon64 processors don't overheat as much since they use Cool n' Quiet technology which can reduce the clockspeed = reduced temperature, a much better improvement than their k7 lineup

i think it doesn´t matter which one you buy, amd or intel, as long as you have an infinite amount of money. but i prefer amd, beacause i like them :) , you get good performance for less money. so i´ve never baught intel, but seeh this crap often enough at my friends pc.

thought i know both got their pros and cons...
i'll go for intel cause its more reliable i guess? ^_^'
if i have a budget.. maybe i would get an AMD then hee

I just usually buy intel cause thats what I've used all my life. I don't like to switch around =P

It's weird how people still live in a three year old world. Amd isn't a bad processor brand anymor. It is faster, cheaper and cooler than the Intel.
And about the stuff that Athlon64 can't run some software. Where did you get that idea from? Athlon64 runs excelently in 32 bit mode compared to Intel's 64 bit cpu:s that runs poorly in 32 bit mode.

I'm not an Amd fanboy, I just choose the best cpu. If Intel makes a really good cpu that beat the crap out of Athlon64, then Intel has the lead :)

I much prefer INtel and while I've been hearing some good things from time to time about AMD what I heard within the last few months about problems with the AMD chips not bheing as fast as they sued to be kind has me worried.

I'm curious why Intel hasn't put out a better performing CPU like AMD has been doing.

Now:
games: AMD 64
Cheap good proccessor. Intel Celeron
Hyper threading, well The AMD will kill intel good time. Read Reviews at [H]ardocp.com

AMD Athlon64 Intel suxs crap

Go amd!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

honestly, you cant go wrong with either intel or amd at this time.

i used to be a huge intel fan, now im running on an athlon xp-m.

when my 2.4B @ 3.33GHz computer got stolen, i opted to get a cheaper, athlon system. i just plopped the laptop chip in and got it to 2300MHz. i figure this will last me a while.

and whoever made the comment on if dell switched to AMD that intel wouldnt be #1, youre mistaken. intel has so much brand and name recognition and spends billions on marketing, never in the near future no matter what will they play second fiddle to AMD. maybe if intel has some catastrophic stuff happen, and even though AMD is winning the performance battle right now, intel has many plans and tricks up their sleeves.

but seriously, you can go wrong with either at this point in time. anyone who says otherwise is either biased fanboy or zealot.

Dell IS going to use AMD. Read it recently, link:

i go with pentium, cause it's more reliable in my opinion. AMD is fast and more powerful but it lacks compatibility and stableness.

I'd have to go with AMD, they both clock in at nearly the same speeds, AMD costs less also is better for networking and such so it's a bit stronger too.

maybe because Intel use MHz and AMD use Effective Point to mark their CPU performance(xxxx+). even an oveclocked Athlon XP 2000+ can overcome Pentium 4 2,6 GHz at the same clock.(yes, it could!)

maybe i'll choose AMD for my next computer.

*shrugs* ive been using amd...im happy with amd..nothing wrong with it...amd clock speed are rated to intel clock speed..but the fact is ..amd true clock speed is much lower den intel..
eg 2000xp+ is running approx 1600mhz...but its equal to an intel 2gig..

hence y i go for amd..n its cheaper =D

Get a real chip - go 64 bit and go sparc! :) Just kidding.

As far as AMD vs. Intel goes it depends on you budget and what you plan to do. For most people, AMD is a better choice, but there are a few caveats. First, there are some hardware issues with AMD and the motherboard chipset with some high end graphics cards. In this case high end is over $1,000.00, so for most people this is not an issue. Also I have seen some minor software glitches - but nothing major. The real issue with AMD is that they have a hard time producing enough chips to really challenge Intel.

i think their Opteron chip might change that, with Itanic doing so poorly, but they need better penetration in the market.

AMD is cheaper and works just as well as Intel.
Intel is supposed to be higher quality, but I don't see any difference in quality.

AMD it is =)
