Hey everybody, I got a serious matter to discuss today. It's some sort of
dilemma actually. A lot of people around me are totally obsessed with getting a
drivers license. They prefer to start their first driving lessen right on their
18th birthday (you gotta be 18 here before you can drive), get their license
ASAP and start terrorising the neighborhood with their bad driving skills My
colleagues and family members are telling me to get my drivers license too,
since I'm already a bit older (in fact, I can barely remember I've ever been
18), but I don't care about driving at all.
Okay okay, I admit it: I would like to drive, but I think driving's pretty scary
I'm getting all nervous when I see more than 4 moving cars around
me, and I totally freak out when I think of stranding on a crossroad or
something. Maybe you've got some tips to help me get over these ridiculous fears
Hmmmm.... Well, first of all, like everything, the fear to the road will be gone
if you practice, first try to practice close to home, give your car a little
"stroll" around the street when there are no cars at all, then try
driving to work, after this start trying to drive further and further

That's a nice tip Lance, to practice close to my home, since I'm living in a
lively neighbourhood with many young (and noisy) families with lots of children.
Big chance I hit at least 3 or 4 kids while trying lol
Then again, in that case maybe I should just do so ***devilish grin***
But I appreciate your advice, and I guess you're right about first trying to
practice short distances. I'll consider it. Thanks!

driving! i got a drivers license but haven't driven a car ever since.. and i'm
getting along just fine.....
I don't think I like driving either, I mean, I'm already having trouble getting
by just riding my bike lol
But to travel by bus forever ain't a picnic either Maybe
I should just go for it and get that license after all***sigh***
I got a drivers license. You can get your license here at 16. The worst that
happened is a flat tire and a split second collision. I did not collide with the
car but it was really close.
It was f@#$%n scary. But driving to me is fun.
well, i'm having my driving classes these days.....you need to pass a driving
test to get a licence here and yes you need to be 18 too....i've had i think 6
or 7 classes till now and i'm still stuggling to handle the gears.....steering
is simple.....reversing is a problem.....well, during my first driving
class....when i pressed the accelerator....the car jumped....it was so scary

OK, I'm glad it was a good advice, maybe I should do it too (I'm still not a
driver and here you can drive when you're 16)
O, by judging your age and your reply earlier I figured you already had your
license, lol! Guess not...
Well, if you decide to take lessons, good luck!

Don't feel too bad! I got my lisence about two years after all my friends did,
and I still generally drive less than them (I have no problem just being a
passenger). As far as overcoming your fears, I can't really add to what's
already been said: just practice a lot, and start out with easy stuff like
parking lots and residential streets.
Are you a little unnerved or are you thrown into a panic if there's a lot of
cars around you? Some people shouldn't drive, and I'm not being condescending,
because I absolutely hate to drive, and I want you to be smart if you don't
think you can.
I understand what you're saying and it's true; I really hate to drive, partly
because I have a nervous and paranoid disposition and partly because my area is
known for its unusually high number of accidents (thanks to ridiculous winding
roads and hordes of drunken teenagers living around here). Also I don't have a
car of my own so I can't really practice. Fortunately I don't travel much.
like what has been said, practice makes perfect. the more you drive, the more
you get used to other cars being on the same road. i've seen people who i
thought would never learn to drive learn to drive by sheer determination.

What a nightmare! Plz be careful on the road!

I failed my permit test (the written one) once and the actual road test twice. I'd say that makes me an expert.
