I've already tried to edit it so then it would match up to the MT standards, but
it seems as though theres always something missing in this wallie. Right now, I
think I've kinda added way too many things in the picture because the original
idea was to keep it plain and simple
Edited Version (with wings): [link]
- I was looking through my pictures folder and quite a few pictures had some
type of wings on the person the picture was featuring. So, I decided I should
try it out
Suggestions on what I should change/improve please !
Currently working on it with the help of your suggestions
Changing the name from Shining Star~! to A Light in the Snow
Thank you everyone for you suggestions! If you find anymore mistakes or
improvements I can make on a certain area, please post a comment on it
UPDATE
Going to use the version without the wings and see if it is allowed to stay
UPDATE2
I think my wallie is finally accepted =D been there for the entire day! Thank
you everyone for your comments and tips on my first wallpaper
I think the main thing is that the background is just ghosting - meaning you
took the scan, enlarged it and put the layer on "soft-light" or
something.
The scan was actually too large for the resolution size of my monitor so I
resized it to a smaller resolution and cleaned up the entire image of the image
loss. Then I added a glow effect to the white parts of her uniform because on
the original image there was a slight glow from the light coming in from the
windows. I forgot to mention the image I posted here was slightly edited in a
few parts: I lowered the Gaussian blur on the red and white parts of the
uniform, made a swirl effect on the star, and added the 3 feathers. The original
image I had posted on MT was accidentally overwritten when I was saving this new
one
Since the effect I had tried to make made it seem like the scan was just ripped
off of the picture, is there any way to made the scanned image look as though
there was a glow of light around her, but not as much as the glow illuminating
from the star.
Edit: Also forgot to mention I added an OuterGlow effect using blue to make the
glow effect (the shine I was trying to make) around the scanned image.
it may be just me, but the star and the word sayuri looks pretty jagged... which
sorta ruins the smoothness of the wall. Also as said above, your not allowed to
ghost x.x... other than that its pretty nice
yea, you might want to update your wall with chloe-chan's suggestion. MT doesnt
allow ghosting. You see the same scan of the girl on the bg that you have thats
really see-through? thats called ghosting and you're not allowed to do that on
MT. You need to take that off before you submit your wall again. The star also
looks a bit pixellated like you enlarged it or something, but I might be wrong,
since the diagonal lines on the star are at such a steep angle, you might just
get pixellation. If you want your wall to still look busy without the ghosted
image in the background, why not try some patterns?
Oohh! So thats what the ghostring was... It was actually OuterGlow (with blend
mode "screen" and blue colouring), InnerGlow (with blend mode
"screen" and a blue) and lowered opacity. Ok, now I think I see what
the problem was.
Edit: The ghostring was actually the original size of the girl I took from the
scan xD
Edit2: The jagged parts of the star and text were suppose to give an ancient
like effect without using a texture. I'll fix that right away
Edit3: (Expanded on what I did)
