Why thank you, beethoven, for your insightful and nicely articulated post.
The KKK are ABSOLUTELY not Christians! Where on earth did you get a ridiculous idea like that? The majority of those who fought to end slavery and get equal rights for all races in America were Christians whose motivation was their love for humanity and belief in the Bible's teaching in equality. Any half-way decent book on the subject will mention that.
Some of the KKK claim to be Christians in order to (usually unsuccessfully, thank God) gain support from the largely religious population in the southern states where their organization is based. However, even the heirarchy and titles in the KKK are based in the occult and every single one of the tenets of their beliefs is directly oppposite to what is in the Bible.
I speak of what I know- I've read through the New Testament more than 30 times in the past 2 years. Nowhere does it encourage racism, and in fact a great number of the books in it deal with treating other races with love and tolerance.
PLEASE don't confuse real Christians with those fools in the KKK. They wouldn't know God if He landed on their heads.
im not going to say much about the differences between the 2 religion as i am a buddhist..... however i came from malaysia whereby the majority of the population are muslims and currently i am studying in england, the majority of the people here are christians
i just dont understand how can some of the muslims be so extreme in their thinking about taking other innocent life as part of jihad, though i can say that some christians can be very extreme as well
anyway its just a minority of the muslims that are confused and poisoned as i believe that all religion in the world exist to create peace amongst human
to the muslims Allah is the most superior being in the world.they dont believe in reincarnation and retribution, the same goes with christians....different from buddhism and hinduism
however, i found that some of the prophets or nabi for both religion are the same person. Even "Adam and Eve" appeared in the Koran by the name of "Adam dan Hawa"(malay language)
I got the idea of KKK being Christians because it used to be just a Christian group just there to practice Christianity and share there religious views and that is until one person's stereotype made other people believe that the stereotype is true and such and well... you get the point. Please do note, I did say extremist...
Go read the old testament then, I mean, it teaches how to kill nonbelievers, kill false prophets, kill gays lesbians and all that such... It is still part of the bible...
On a note, would you call some of the Islamic people that suicide bomb a believer of Islamic religion? If you say yes, then you must say that KKK is Christian too, cause they're both extremist parties of religions.
I hate (yes, hate is the correct term) all that divide and love all that join.
If a religion divide people it's not a religion.
So if Christians say they're better or that they have "the truth" maybe someone can take distance from this: this is a division.
Muslims and Jewish and Christians are fighting one against another.
If it's real that God or Allah or Jehova is their father how can this father call such their sons?
I don't blame people but Guides.
I meant spiritual guides: religions teach us to live together not to fight!
If you teach different you are a killer.
IPSE DIXIT.
they share sum similarities in terms of people in their history but theyre beliefs are fairly different from each other...i think ...lol!
i think the Christianity is the right way bcoz it's the first religion. n the bible says
Mark 13:5-6= "And Jesus, answering them, began to say:"Take heed that no one decieves you. 6"For many will come in My name, saying'I am He.' and will decieve many."
and also, the Islam came 600 yrz-i forgot- after the Christian, it says that the Quran is the bible which has been revisioned, fell from the sky n the witnesses at that time were camels.
those r nonsense
lol, i got a good chuckle out of this, please don't be so close minded, and learn some history while your at it. Christianity the first religion? Please tell me what religion moses was, oh thats thats right, He was Jewish, Judaism came way before Christianity, remember even Jesus was Jewish for awhile. Further more what about the thousands of years before Christianity? Please don't further my view of ignorant Christians. Anyways I voted for Buddhism
the bible says that one way so that we can pray to God juzt in the name of Jesus, not others.
umm ya well i was only upset over the fact that you claimed Christianity to be the the first religion ever. Of course most religions are going to say that they're the only right religion and all others are wrong. Even Catholics claim that all other denominations within Christianity are wrong and aren't going to heaven even though they pray to dog in the name of Jesus as you claim. Honestly if your right and only Christians go to Heaven, count me out, I'd image it to be a pretty boring place not to mention pretty empty.
uhm, i dunno, my teacher said bout it. i think i didnt heard clearly. He said that Islam came after the Christian. it has been revisioned, it means Islam is wrong. no one cant revisioned the bible, God wouldnt make wrong ways to us. n after Jesus had died, the bible came, n it means we've to believe it, the way He gives to us.
we cant feel like bored or lonely or wut in heaven, it isnt the same as we live in the earth.
i think its a peaceful place n we'll live peacefully in it.
FIX'D
Can't believe you accepted such a ridiculous argument from your teacher.
No, they weren't. The first patriarch of Judaism is Abraham, and it continues the the line of Isaac, then the Isrealites start at Jacob/Isreal of which we later have the Jews.
Islam was started by Mohammad, a few mellenia later. Islam traces its ancestrial and cultural roots back to Ishmeal, as the Jews trace theirs back through Isaac and Jacob, but they aren't the ones who started each. The Ishealites weren't that different from the Hebrews as far as I can tell up till Mohommad, I believe the group Moses goes to when he leaves egypt and whom he takes a wife from were supposed to be Ishmealites. Not certain on that one right now though.

One of the rules of being in the KKK, at least at one time, was being a Protostant.
They were against blacks, Jews, Catholics, evolution, etc.
They aren't strictly recognized nor supported by any particular christian denomination as far as I am aware, but the members are generally members of various protostant christian denominations.
The fact that they, in fact, go against the beliefs and practices of Christianity doesn't change that, just makes them idiots, but lots of supposedly christian orginizations throughout history have done the similar (and many orginizations of other religions have likewise gone against their religion).

Catholics do not believe that other Christian denominations aren't going to heaven. The ones who like to say that are they anti-cahtolics trying to make people hate catholics. They say alot of things acting as if they are speaking for the Catholic Church, quite often in fact, and rather distastefully.
I'm not sure the wording right now, but Catholics believe we have the fullness of whatever, but that there are insights and parts in almost all other religions (not just christians either), and theres more to it than that, its kinda wordy the doctrine, but thats to be as precise as possible. Sometimes i think that makes people read the first 5 words though and assume the rest and thus get the wrong idea.
Anway, after that, we don't know what will happen. We believe that others can go to heaven, and that those who could not know Christ through know fault of their own, but did live a rightous life to the best of what they had available to them, probably will go to heaven, but we don't really know, and its not our place to decide and judge who will go to heaven and not, thats up to God, and He'll decide based on His own justice and mercy. This extends to include that other christians CAN go to heaven, but its up to God how that works out.
And priincess: you don't seem to have a very good grasp of christianity, and history, and other things, and your making us look bad.
Little side note concering other things said earlier: Jesus was not jewish most of his life: He was jewish ALL of his life. Most of His followers were Jews as well. In fact, the early christian Church was part of judaism. There were several groups in the Jewish religion, kinda like the various groups in Christianity and Islam and Hinduism, etc. The follows of Jesus became their own new branch, The Way, and later seperated/ were kicked out of judaism after the destruction of the temple and the rise of power among the Pharasees within Judaism. This is why we talk about the Judeo-Christian tradition, since Christianity didn't simply pop up on its own, but has its roots in Judaism.
omg....
Jesus died n then went to heaven, those r in da bible. then, He said that it's the only true way for us, He sent da bible by His prophets so that we can learn more bout Him. He wont give wrong way to us. thats y we should accept the bible as our belief.
sorry, but i know nothing bout the jew..
You should try to learn about the "jew" as like Gau said its the basis for the Christian religion.
You do realize that Jesus was a Jew himself, don't you?
By the way, Jesus did not send us the Bible. The Bible is a collection of separate and individual books written by different people at different times for different purposes. Realize that the 39 books of the Old Testament (46 if you're Catholic) were all written well before Jesus's life time, and that when you read the Old Testament, you're actually reading the Jewish Bible because they are the same thing.
Thanks EternalParadox for Clarifying that for them.
Off Note:
You know when i went to Catholic school, they taught me that, it's just surprising how many people I've met don't know that Jesus was a Jew.
It just goes to show how similar the three major religions are, they borrow each other major characters yet people don't realize this and nit pick over the prophets, and thats really where the main difference is.
yeah, The Bible is a collection of separate and individual books written by different people at different times-they havent seen each others, n the points are the same-bout the Son of God, Jesus. hows that? Jesus guide them, so they cant write wrong things, add or miss some words of God.
I think that Christianity is totally different from Islamic beliefs...I recently did a little research on this and I found out that Muhammed supposably did miracles that were very similar to Jesus' miracles....but the entire Quran doesnt mention Muhammed doing any miracles at all....in fact he would tell people that he refused to do miracles. Also most of the people who wrote about mohammed were about 100-200 years later, making the entire subject seem questionable, seeing as they said they know about mohammed's miracles, considering none were ever mentioned...But thats all i wanted to say...i just wanted to separate the two.
See this is what I was talking about, Christianity and Islam have lot of same basics yet people argue over the prophets, I mean didn't god say in the ten commandments not to worship anyone but him, yet all of these problems concur when people fail to listen and worship these different prophets.
Did you read The Koran?
I've studied the contents of the Quran.I've seen what the basic message and ect was. Also,i studied most of all its historical value.
Your avoiding the direct question...But we know you haven't read it, because you said in an earlier thread that you didn't even read the bible.
I'm glad you can use quotes, it does help
