I don't think they are, they were spreading rumors that they were going to
remake it for the PS3 and make it real time fighting (which would be totally
stupid)....but I don't think it will happen
They did a demo for the E3 convention to show off how the ps3's graphics are,
but didn't plan to follow through with making a game. However, many fans have
begged them to make it... but they still don't plan to ... to my knowledge.
They didn't discard it was a good idea, but for now they don't think they will.
in my opinion they will do it, the fact that they say they're not doing it but
they don't discard the posibility sounds like a strategy, I mean, let the fans
beg for the game, and develop it in secret, so that more people will buy it once
they launch it

The FF developers will be tied up for the next several years with FFXIII
projects, then after that the next Kingdon Hearts down the road, FF Dissidia is
in progress...there's just too many projects going right now...the Compilation
of FFVII is pretty much over.

Square Enix isn't going to remake any FF games for the PS3, using the new
engine. The head of Square Enix already announced there is NO plans whatsoever
to remake any of them using the new engine. Square Enix also announced that
since this year marks FF 20th year, they claim that all plans to make future
remakes or new games related to any game lower then FF12 are here by
dropped...this even includes the famous FF:VII, which the series officially ends
this year, the Final Final Fantasy VII is suppost to come out later this year,
however once that is out there will be no more games made relating to the
series. This is due to the XIII Project that is going to last for the next 10
years, which does include 3 new titles and a 4th title that is a MMO in
development. During this 10 year project all other FF relating games are suppost
to be put on hold or cancelled until further notice. The only exception to this
is the FF games ported to the DS and the Crystal Chronicles game that is suppost
to come out later. Square Enix announced that since this 10 year plan is
officially start once FF:XIII comes out, there is still time, but once it
starts, almost all the development effort will go to the 8 titles that were
listed at E3. This does even however effect the next Kingdom Hearts game,
however that is on hold as of right now due to believe it or not - Final Fantasy
Versus XIII, which is being developed by the Advent Children Team, Kingdom
Hearts Team, and the directors of Final Fantasy 10 and 12. Thats pretty much the
big reason why there is no FF:VII remake coming out...ever...

that the ff7 demo was only show how great the graphics are now in ps3. Its just
a demo, they don't plan to remake ff7 for ps3.

finish? So, how long do you think the game will be remake in PS3? A decade?
i think with the sales the PS3 has we may see FF7 on PSP, Wii or DS it is just
not feasible for them to put the game on PS3. They even said that they will wait
until the PS33 has a larger install base before they release FF13 do that it cna
have enough sales to generate a profit

Considering that remaking a (overrated and too emo, in my opinion) game like
Final Fantasy VII would be as expensive as creating a brand new one, I honestly
don't see why they would do it.
Also, I'm sick and tired of all this FF VII hype and enraged fanboyism. Game
isn't even half as good as its (annoying) fans claim it is, so meh.

umm 3 years is about avrage time frame to make FFX and FF12 so umm
FF7 would take atleast 3-4 years...
which isnt that long for such a big rpg...
