Yup yup... My fianl examinations are drawing close... less than a week
away!!!
If you live in NZ, you'd realise how NCEA is the worst education system
ever...
Besides.... having seven three-hour exams is not any fun at all...
Even worse, we've had mock exams which are pretty much the same thing except it
doesn't count for anything...
So.. that totals up to 36 hours of exams for me this year just the end of year
ones... =_=')
Anyway, the point of this thread???
You could contradict about your education system, tell us how we all hate
exams/tests or feel free to add in anything else relevant.... ^^

I'm VERY lucky at the moment, no school currently, otherwise Exams plague me
like nothing else...always looming over my head and freaking me out! DAMN them!

Too bad you have to do SATs.... and why does school start half way through the
year??? I've always wondered about that.... ^^
But SATs can't be as bad as ncea.... it doesn't even make sense... and no other
country knows how to handle it or accept NZ students.... :P
EDIT: exentric... 22 papers isn't too bad... I get nearly 50 papers through out
the year over 6 subjects... TT.TT That's like 6 papers to do in each exam!!

Yep! SAT's basically determine what college you'll be going to and if you'll get
a paid scholership or not, no joke its really THAT important. ALOT of people
over-stress themselves out about it, I was included. I took them twice......to
better my score.

of anything thats that much....I know I've really done alot of homework in my
time, but even then that sounds a bit too much.

What they've done with NCEA is that they've chopped up each subject into bits so
you can't fail the entire subject unless you 'not achieve' (never fail with
ncea... always not achieve and even worse, no percentage marks... so annoying)
every peper in the subject curriculum... =_='

you'll get a paid scholership or not, no joke its really THAT

Yup, I'll back that claim too. SAT's are the first thing looked at, second
would be your GPA. Now if you're applying to a public university, that's the
end of it. They've got so many applicants that they can shut down the
acceptance process right there and the UC (University of California) system has
more than enough qualified students if they go by that alone. Now if you're
applying to a private university, then they might be able to look at your
extra-curricular activities. But that's usually only done for tie-breaking.
So in the short, yes. The SAT's are the single biggest thing for college
acceptancec (mainly cuz' they're decided in a matter of hours and the high
school GPA is done in four years). Oh, and don't forget to mention that the
SAT's are gonna get - kinda - harder in the next couple of years.
Oh, and as for my exams. I just finished my first set of midterms. Four
midterms in a matter off two weeks. Not really bad, but seeing as how each one
counts for about 30% of my grade in those classes, they're
nerve-racking.
Well, I do wish all of those out there with more exams good luck, that is unless
you're in one of my classes. Then I wish you the worst of luck, so you'll
affect the curve even more and give me a little grade boost =P

don't like papers, projects & homework (except for math & physics
homework). I tend to score better on the exams than on things like english
papers or research project type things

mental blackout in my head during exams hehehe... and something I forget the
answers....darn!!! but I sometimes get a high score though even I hate

form and they mark our work using the NCEA system!! It's tough and unfair!
i like math only because i'm good at it but in my school each day we have least
teachers
and the ones we have dont now how to teach(and if they now how to teach i'll
hate all the subject to but it'll be much easier XP).Anyway i'm crazy to get out
of that informatic school i'm in.

procrastinate like crazy (like right now) and end up cramming everything last
minute. My grades don't show that though, so it's all good

yea exams do suck, i have finals coming soon as well which are the week of my Bday. haha what a way to celebrate it!!
