I know of several titles out there that are pure mech-based. Front Mission, Mech
Warrior, the various Gundam titles (bleh) and for MMORPGs I can think of RF
Online, which is decent for a week or so.
Can anyone name me a title of a game for something single-player oriented? If
not, then maybe just post your favorite mecha-type anime or character. Thank
you.
Super Robot Taisen (Wars) Original generation 1 and 2 for GBA, or Original
Generations for PS2, or if you want to see mazinger Z and company in them try
Super Robot Taisen Alpha (PSone), Alpha 2 and 3 (PS2) MX (PSP) or W (DS),
unfortunately the last ones are in japanese and there's no way you can get them
in english
If your PS2 is moded Try A.C.E (Another Centerys Episode) there great games to
play the missons are easy and tons of mechs from animes you know and love
Gundam(Wing,Seed,X),Eureka 7, Robotech, Patlabor, Macross+ and many more!
If you're still looking for a great Mech-related type games both within and
outside of the RPG-genre, then I wanted to echo Xenosaga, Episodes I-III (PS2),
Super Robot Taisen: Original Generations 1 & 2 (GBA) and recommend Konami's
Zone of the Enders 1 & 2 (PS2). The latter isn't an RPG (though it does
follow some conventions) but it's both heavily mech & anime based as you
mentioned being interested in -- and they're some pretty darn excellent games
IMHO. I see now that 23rl23rl23 recommended these as well, good call.
I just purchased Front Mission 3 (PS1) recently, and that may be something that
would interest you as well. Good luck in the search.
You can try Zone of the Enders for PS2 as well as for GBA or You can try MS Saga
which is pretty good and the mechs in the games are actually from the Gundam
series.
XENOGEARS NUF SAID
XD well not really.. but its a good game... for ps1 though so if you're gonna
whine about graphics =/........
then got xenosaga =) i liked xenosaga... was good too..... though it was very
flawed lol sadly i'm a hardcore fan so i know exactly which flaws it has T-T
Just hafta bump to mention Space Griffon VF9, extremely rare though, sadly. RPG
and Survival Horror elements. Yes, survival horror. With mecha. You'll be amazed
at how well it works! I fired out a couple bricks in the mine area.
Playstation and Dreamcast, good luck with it though, I've never even found a
working torrent. Just something for you to keep an eye out for when checking
ebay.
Parasite Eve from Squaresoft is something I considered survival horror, and I
liked it. That and the Aliens Trilogy, which only had a very small yet important
addition of mecha.

One of the most interesting games from Polyphony Digital Omega Boost (PSone) and all parts of Zone Of The Enders (PS2).
Oh sorry. It has to be RPG like Xenogears (PSone) or Xenosaga (PS2).
