Manga first, then the anime.

Anime tends too move to slowly for me, and I get impatient.

i usualy start with the manga... i like to get the story line 1st and then look at them in motion :P

Anime. I'm too lazy to read.

Manga. So that I know when to skip arcs I don't like if I ever watch the anime.

Manga is my way with few exceptions. I like reading very much, and prefer it over watching anime.

Anime. It gives you the concept on what manga could mean. lol

If you started off with Manga, I guess your a nerd or simply someone who loves to read from time to time.

If you started off with Anime, you might be a geek or someone who simply likes mature-toons or simply likes watching television.

Right now, I adore the Mangas - certain ones - than the Anime. FMA, I'd watch; HxH, I'd watch; Naruto, I'd read; and Eyeshield 21, I'd read; and Rurouni Kenshin, I'd watch.

As of right now, if I seen them in Anime before Manga, it better have awesome opening/ending music, or else, I'd read it. But sometimes, reading it give out a better concept, a more greater outlook of the story.

So, as of today, it varies on whether if it is good on the Manga or Anime. So, I cannot solely rely to one than the other. It just depends.

As of right now, Darker than Black, even if it has a Manga series, I bet it cannot overturn its fans to the Manga. It's just that awesome.

I'd start with anime to see if I like the series, because I actually buy all my manga and it gets really expensive after awhile... I'm not going to spend $100 on a series I don't like...

I started out with anime

It was anime, I think it was pokemon or dragonball z, I then saw the manga of each and it just on from there....

anime.....probably vampire hunter d. my first manga was naruto, during the filler period

If you start out with manga and then see the anime, then you get the pleasure of reading first before you watch it. Plus, animes get fillers when they get ahead of the manga, so you get off the true plottline with the anime

I started off with anime, then discovered there origins through manga, my first beginners for me were Dragonball Z and Ghost in the Shell.

I prefer to see the anime medium first, then I'll only get the manga if I like the anime enough(a little bias I know) Or though I'm not fussy either and would buy manga just for the sake of it some times X-P (since the UK is not the best for stocking manga)

I would most likely watch the anime first, then read the manga. And then compare! ^^

Anime. I think that anime better shows heroes and their feelings.
But i will also read manga if it contains more story than in anime is showed.

Sorry for my English, i don't know it well

I usually start with manga not only because I love manga more in general, but also because it's cheaper. I would rather spend $10 on something I may or may not like than $30 on something I'm not even sure of.

Probably Anime, usually when I read the Manga first I don't want to watch the anime anymore. <_<;

I generally like reading manga more than I like watching anime, so I'm more inclined to get the manga. However, my general rule is to experience whichever media came first. So, for xxxHolic, I'll read the manga first, and for Cowboy Bebop I'll watch the anime first.

It depends which one I come by first - but sometime reading the manga screws up the show - you don't enjoy it as much because they ruined the story - but if you don't know any better and you read the manga later then it doesn't ruin the process.

Usually it's anime, because reading the manga first feels like reading the ultimate spoiler. Interestingly it doesn't work the other way around and watching a good anime really makes me want to read the manga too. I do consider manga "easier" in a way, though. As in, I sometimes stumble across a manga I really like and then I'll get the anime too, but rarely the other way around.

Also, more often than not, the manga is more comprehensive than the anime, so you might find all the missing details in the anime annoying, but if you saw the anime first all that extra in the manga version works as an incentive to read it. A few times the manga has also explained some things I didn't understand or realize while watching the anime, which made me want to watch it again after reading the manga.

I wonder if it's because I watch anime first but the manga usually seems weak compared to the anime. And when it isn't then the reason usually is that the anime is way incomplete or just plain drops out parts of the story. Another thing I've noticed is that mangas often tend to be either complete waste of time or truly EPIC while most of animes are somewhere in the middle.

Nowadays I start with the manga, because that way you know the original story line and don't miss out on any of the small things. Also, reading it gives you more time to think.
If I enjoy a manga, I'll move on to the anime.

But people that do that have to be careful, because anime's often fly very far from the original storyline. People need to learn to understand the anime is an interpretation of the story. If it was exactly the same, it'd be boring to watch.
There's nothing wrong with altering the story, it's merely a different version of the same thing.
I don't understand why so many people can't accept that. But thats the only reason why it's difficult to start with manga. It makes people bias against the anime.

anime will come first, cos graphic is important for me

I would rather start off with the anime, but I always start off with the manga because it's cheaper.
>_>

I would rather start off with the manga, that way i know the original and full story since unless the anime is an ova, they usually skip out on lots of stuff. But i'd watch/read both anyways.

i usally stert whit the manga, cause i've learned the manga is always a lot better then the anime ^_^
