:)
1. PRINCE OF TENNIS omg. So much music and all of it is freakin awesome.
Especially Oshitari's songs, so sexy *__*
2. Naruto, even though I've never seen even one episode My
friend is a big fand an she sends me some song from time to time, they're mostly
awesome. I love Scenario and Nagareboshi ^^
3. FLCL. Same as above - haven't seen it, but my brother gave my FLCL songs by
the pillows~
4. Wolf's Rain. I have both soundtracks and listen to them very often...
instrumental songs are great for falling asleep :3
5. Bleach. OPs and EDs are great, BGMs are not badd too
1) Prince of Tennis (I love Wonderful Days so much)
2) La Corda d'Oro (Brand New Breeze is the best)
3) Gundam Seed/ Destiny
4) Ayashi no Ceres
5) Black Blood Brothers
Aria the Animation/Natural OST (Choro
Club)
While the OP and ED themes are present on both of these, the majority of the CD
is dedicated to Choro Club's atmospheric and beautiful instrumental works (with
Senoo on Piano.) Their range encompasses the lively (AQUA, Natsu no Yousei), the
uplifting (Tenki ame, Hoshikage no Gondola), the melancholy (Mangetsu Dolce,
Kagaribi no Nocturne) or the mysterious. (Yuunagi.) Aria has, amongst other
things, provided me with the best music I have ever heard in any anime bar
none.
Aria the Natural ~Vocal collection~
(Round Table, Choro Club and more.)
This CD has pretty much any insert song from not only Aria the Natural, but also
Aria the Animation. Not only that, but you also get alternative versions of
various opening and ending themes AND various in-show singing pieces. For me,
the insert songs stand out simply because they've included some pretty damn
competent musicians to the roster, which really give the songs an extra touch I
don't get from a lot of anime themes. Between this and the original soundtracks
AND the "Piano collection ~Staglione~", I know I can trust the
(hopefully) upcoming Aria the Origination OST CD to be a worthy buy purely on
faith. I know I'll be looking forward to the show, as much on strength of its
music as anything else, and that's saying a lot.
Asatte no Houkou OST "Truth"
(Nobuyoshi Mitumune)
This show is another one of those shows that had very noticeable music, which
eventually lead me to seek out the soundtrack. Easily enough, though I nearly
choked when I noticed the CD had forty tracks on it. Which means that the Asatte
soundtrack basically consists of a whole lot of short ditties. Don't get me
wrong; this is some good music (for pretty much the same reason I like the Aria
soundtrack.) Still, there is some melody reruns as the CD progresses, even if
it's differently played, so that's a slight negative, I guess. Also, I don't
think it would have hurt to have the FULL versions of the OP and ED themes,
but....
Petopeto-san OP/ED theme single (Mellow
Head feat. Isako Saneyoshi)
I have no idea why I like this one so much. (Especially the ending theme.) Isako
Saneyoshi has an... unique... voice, to put it mildly, and the whole music style
feels off key, as if it were being played on a school concert/play of sorts. The
ending theme is utterly mellow and endearing, though, with silly rhymes and
made-up words, making it a nice lullaby of sorts.
Nekomimi Mode (Dimitri from Paris)
Well, actually, he's Turkish, but what's differing nationality between good
musicians? Anyway, the first time I heard (and saw) the opening theme to
Tsukuyomi Moon Phase, I was definitely wondering what kind of crack these people
were smoking. (And after that introduction to the story too.) What's more, I
knew I had to get a hold of that song somehow. And, holy crap, the singer (and
Hazuki's VA) is none other than Chiwa Saito, who also did Aika in Aria, and,
eventually, the insert song Kami to Hairpin to Watashi. Talk about your
difference in style. O_o
And lastly...
Haibane Renmei OST and the Haibane Renmei Image
Album (Artist unknown for the moment.)
And so I return for more atmospheric instrumental music from what is basically
my favorite anime. The music varies more here, I think, and definitely has a
more mysterious element to it, which isn't the least bit strange considering the
source material. Still, one has to notice the opening theme and ending theme out
of the many pieces, the former for actually being an instrumental, which is rare
in anime. But my favorite track is definitely "Breath of a germ", a
violin-and-flute piece that jabs me straight in the heart with its soft
gentleness.
Incidentally, the image album contains a lot of songs that never appear in the
anime as far as I know, but definitely sound like they belong there. Well, with
the exception of "Free Bird", easily recognisable as the opening theme
transformed into a full-fledged song, and a well sung one at that.
Madlax - My favorite OST from my favorite composer, including many of the songs
I listen to the most. My top 10 tracks are nowhere, saints, I'm here, hitomi wa
kakera, Elenore, people are people. Madlax, places of the holy, flame, and lost
command.
.hack//sign - My second favorite from Yuki Kajiura. Top tracks are key of the
twilight, the world, yasashii yoake, a stray child, in the land of twilight
under the moon, limits, cyber-slum, mimiru, open your heart, and to
nowhere
ARIA (both series) - This was one that caught me off guard, but consistently
wonderful vocals and instrumentals have played a major role in soothing me in
times of strife. My favorite tracks include Barcarolle, Coccoro, Undine,
Euforia, Rainbow, Just For You, Amefuri Hana, Symphony, Natsumachi, and
Shiosai.
Gundam SEED (and Destiny): Mostly the vocal tracks here, as the bgm was
generally more standard. My favorites are Akitsuki no Kuruma, Hono no Tobira,
Anna ni issho datta no ni, Invoke, Reason, Life Goes On, Kimi wa Boku ni
Niteiru, and Ignited.
Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex (and 2nd Gig & SSS): These just
barely beat out some of Yoko Kanno's other works, but are the ones I listen to
the most. Favorite tracks include rise, replica, inner universe, what's it for,
player, torukia, cyber bird, I do, from the rooftop ~ somewhere in silence, and
GET9
Runners up include (again, in no particular order): Noir, My-HiME, Z-HiME (Mai
Otome), Aquarian Age, Macross Plus, and Coyboy Bebop.
1.ARIA(All series):Such a wonderfulness music can do.Soo beautiful and the slow
rhytm is so relaxing and stress-relieving..The best of best thanx to Makino
Yui..
2.The Melancholy of Suzumiya Haruhi:Listening to HareBare Yukai makes you really
happy!
3.Shakugan no Shana:The lyrics fits greatly with the anime.
4.Code Geass:Cool,especially Colors by FLOW.
5.Naruto:Cool.
1. Gundam Seed/Destiny (one of the animes with the best songs I've ever
heard)
2. Code Geass (lovely BGM. I like Mosaic Kakera and Hitomi no Tsubasa)
3. Fate/Stay Night
4. Tsubasa Chronicles
5. The Law of Ueki (Falco and No Regret are my fave )
That includes the BGM, all the songs used in the series (OPs, EDs and inserts, as well as image songs ).
My top five would be:
Cowboy Bebop
Noir
Tenkuu no Escaflowne
Stellvia of the Universe
Gundam Seed
What's yours? Thanks!
Rurouni Kenshin
Trigun
Cowboy Bebop
Tenchi Muyo
Princess Mononoke
