Mine was "sayonara," which means "good-bye, farewell." I heard that from Sonic Adventure 2:Battle.

haha....nii-san from fma =P
it means brother, but ive seen it in other places, so i dunno

konnichiwa, genki desu ka? arigatou, etc

Konichiwa and ohayo

my first word i learned was mmmmmmmmmmm....
i think -baka=idiot-

Domo arigatou, Mr. Roboto...

I think Baka and Arigatou...

Knochiwa too. ;)

I think the first one that stuck with me (and I knew what it meant) was Arigato
It was from an elementary-level book about a kid involved in karate. There was a decent glossary, but that was the only word that I actually remembered.

Of course, there might have been something further back, but we're testing the limits of my memory already.

First words...if I remember it might be Arigatou but there were a couple more words that I learned before it.One of them is BAKA!:p

Konnichiwa! ^o^
Hai~
:3

I believe it was "itchi" wich should be 1. To say that karate would teach me things I'd actually use today^^'

mine was "arigato"

My first word... ohayo!

I would mine was definitly Baka

Haha, mine would also be Baka, as with so many people before me! I learned it because my friend called me that when I was younger.

Mine first word was "kawaii" which is probably the second most used word among otaku 8d; At least all my friends kept using it so I learned it...(:

TOYOTA too! : ) :D

Ohayo gozaimasu..and it took me hours to keep that word in mind >.<

ermm.. it has been years ago.. well..
arigato or sayonara i think? >.<

Arigato. This is the first japanese word I've heard personally.
I just pointed directions to a japanese national when she blurted that word, with matching bow. o__o

Curious, I asked my father (I LAB MY MULTI-LANGUAGE-DRIVEN PAPA NYIAHAHAHAHA) what does that mean. I'm so dumb. XP

I don't remember mine. Probably some baby word that my mom use to say to me all the time when I was little. Like shii-shii or iya-iya. haha~

If I remember correctly, it was "kawaii" or cute.

My friend back then used it excessively.

mmmm.... -_-
I think it was 'Arigatou' and...... oh! And 'tomodachi' cuz i used 2 have a japanese childhood friend,,, those are the first japanese words i've ever heard. :)
