If you were going to start a brand new series that had both a manga and anime version, which version would you rather start off with?

I personally would start a series off by watching the anime version. For some reason I "hook on" to a show better watching it in motion, rather than reading it first hand. Even though I may miss a few things in the manga version, I would still be happy starting a series with all the bells and whistles of an anime the first time.

anime, Manga takes to long for me.

Personally i would start off with the Manga. Then watch the anime, because some anime are diffrent compared to the manga like Samurai Girl:Real Bout High School. Manga is totally diffrent from the anime.

Hmm... i can understand why everyone would start with anime. It is easier. Well, me thinking about it. I could really start either way.

i started with anime. I watched DBZ first then went to Sailor Moon, then to Digimon when i was very little, back then i didnt know what it was called, but i realized the style of art work was different than other shows and i loved it. It wasnt until about a year and a half ago that i started out reading Manga, but now, i mostly stick to Manga

Just like One Piece! I perfer to stick to the manga. Its WAY better. Anime...they dubbed it too much.

I'd say check out manga because just about 50% of all animes are manga spin offs otherwise browse anime titles and go off judgement.

I best star with tne manga. coz the anime clean somes parts f the original history

That what i am saying! In the maga they dont dub anything but the curse words, sometimes they dont. But the anime that are dubbed like One Piece i cant stand. But i love the One Piece Manga!

Manga definitely. Manga is cheaper, longer, and more interesting. I buy a manga: I read it right away. I buy an anime: I may not feel like watching it for months (The case with a lot of my anime's, DVD and fansub alike).

Usually, I'll rent the first disk of the anime off of Netflix and watch the first episode or so to see if I like it. Then I end up buying the manga and reading it at the same time that I watch the show. If they don't have the series on Netflix, I just buy the manga. I tend to enjoy it in it's origonal form better.

I usually watch the anime before I read the manga... it helps me understand what is going on exactly (characters, world relations, etc) before I get to the manga. Sometimes, however, the anime subs aren't the best... so it can be confusing at times. Overall, I think I like the anime before the manga... then I appreciate the manga for being so complete with the character development and scenerios. Then, after I've looked at both manga and anime... I understand the complete series.

Ah...I usually start off in manga...because it's original, you know, it came straight from the author's heart without being revised by the producers and everything...

I agree. Buy, the first disc of the anime to see how it is and then i'll buy the manga and finish it and then start on the anime again.

For me it really depends, because i hate to read manga off my comp. So if we are talking about something like i was buying them out of the store i don't really care, but i can't stand to read manga of a computer screen.

Anime, I don`t like manga so much

I started with Anime, and now a bunch of years later I'm still going for Anime..I only read 1 Manga I think..and that would be Ichigo 100%...i dunno really about Manga...maybe I'm missing something big here~
Take Death Note for example..I'm watching it since the first released EP 1 and haven't touched the Manga even though I'd die for that show..

Deathnote owns... Most of my friends go for anime to..But not me.

Well i started with anime,but i love manga too 'cause usually in anime are some things changed or the story isn't even finished,so i watch anime and of those that i like very much i read the manga too

i whink i'll go with manga.. idk, just like them better. but anime rocks too! =]

Depends on what kind of genre it is. If it is mostly action, then anime is the best. If more about mystery, etc. manga will be my choice.
