I have a problem whether deciding what is the better weapon, guns or swords? :pacman: :pacman:
I'm kinda leaning towards swords... but it depends on the user... :x :\ -_-

I'm with swords here I like the variety of moves you can do with it

i do agree with swords and user but also the type of sword becuase knight broads sword is different from a samurai sword.

Swords are easier to draw well, but guns can look amazing with enough practice.

I guess it boils down to the question: what are you better at drawing?

I usually draw daggers. I guess I'll pick Kunai ;)

Swords are great if the person know how to block bullet with them or great dodging skills. ^_^ But if the person doesn't know how to, then GUNS! =D
For me, I prefer guns... ^_^;

I couldn't decied i've seen anime when a sword master would stop bullets, like it was nothing and i've seen anime when a master gunfighter could take down an army of guys with sword. you there no real winner in this. it really all depends on who weids what and how good they are with it.

hmm... if I m Black cat it would be guns... ^^
If you are dexterious the gun is way cooler ^^

I think that the sword/katana is more elegant so there for is what i like best.....

i am a long range support type of player so i would definitely choose gun besides i have quite good dexterity

if there is an option of magic then i will definitely choose that

in all honesty, guns are the better weapon. u can shoot someone running at you who has a dagger, sword, or any other older weapon. its a simple matter of point-and-shoot. so long as you can aim well enough, it wont matter how good another person is with a sword or knife. although admittedly close range its closer to even, but not by much. also Train from Black Cat rules... XD

gotta be guns man....even in close range gun are great and effective, unless we are talking about some kind of super sword that has some sort of godly powers. Other than hat its gotta be guns. Kurnai and shuriken is even worse, its just like a smaller version of a sword, no? i wonder if someone can throw a sword like thety do with knifes or stars lol

Guns are way better actually before the person armed with a different weapon could attack you... you would already like shoot that person down.. Bang!Bang! you kno.. lol..
yea.. but ya hafta aim well..
ya but u kno even if u have bad aiming u could like better off kill that person before he could get near 2 u since that might be a chance of u hitting him... n hitting him would cause that person to slow down/react 2 it yea than u can haf more time at shooting at him even more so yea..
swords are cool though

i vote sword....why? eto.....coz if u master a sword technic well enough...u can both do defensive n offensive attack at the same time....

In a real world situation, guns are far superior in most cases due to their range, ability to engage multiple opponents, penetration, and ease of use. Older weapons only begin to look attractive when the ammunition issue comes into play, or absolute silence is needed (actually, some special forces still use long bows for that). Beyond that, no contest.
Even in anime, it is only when a significant fantasy element is involved that you'll see swords being more useful than guns.

However, that said, the truth is that you cannot identify a "best" weapon because it is entirely subjective. The situation is the primary factor, with the user a secondary. Even the listings here provide far too much generalization. Guns are broken down into pistols, submachine guns, rifles, machine guns, and shotguns. And even those can be broken down: pistols into automatics and revolvers; submachine guns into PDWs and SMGs; rifles into sniper, assault, bolt-action, repeating, and semiautomatic; machine guns into heavy, medium, light, SAW, and general purpose; etc. Not to mention that all can be further characterized by the round they fire, which makes a big difference. Each has a unique role, and you'll find many of the listed variants appearing in any given army.

With bladed and blunt weapons, it's even more pronounced. Consider just how many variations there are on the shuriken, or the sheer number of types of sword. Heck, even the wooden swords have numerous variations. Bladed pole weapons? I can think of over a dozen versions just off the top of my head, with at least 5 different battlefield roles. It goes on and on, and I can't even begin to touch on the vast number of different weapons, and the equally vast number of roles they fill.
You do tend to see the over-use of certain weapons in most media, anime included, but this is because of cultural bias, with certain weapons being accorded stronger "coolness factor." These are naturally the most popular, even though not always the best. You're simply expected to suspend disbelief as the limitations and weaknesses are completely ignored. They do it with everything: swords blocking bullets, people magically dodging ranged attacks as they move in for the kill, the magic misses, and even guns show up with infinite ammo. It's the way things are.

But really, when it comes down to it, the only constant, and the only weapon that can truly match against and defeat an opponent in any situation, is a good head on your shoulders. All the rest is merely accessory.

Gunswords :D

They both are actually even in use of combat because they both have something they excell in. but if i were to chose between the two i would pick the sword because to me it seems to fit my fighting style a bit better and it's a lot cooler than a gun, but the best thing you can use is your body or martial arts because it's the one thing you can fully control and it's a lot more versatile than it looks you can go from punches to breaking wrists and snapping throats in a blink of an eye and although it may be a close range thing it makes up for speed because you aren't carrying anything which will help with less weight so you can run faster and besides without a body you can't even wield a sword none the less a gun. so it's body for me but as i said before between guns and swords its swords. lol

Non-firearm combat is the most elegant as well as the bloodiest. I can help but think that there would be a lot less people killing in this world if they were required to be up close and personal with their opponent. Watch them take their last breath, looking into their eyes as the light fades from them and they die.

Most normal people would not be able to handle that but given a gun most normal people somehow have less of an issue with pulling the trigger.

Swords...where is the fun in shooting people. Also, It takes more skill to use a sword...

Swords, atlhough Guns are much faster and easier to use. Swords are elegant and classy in my opinion, and mastering it needs alot of practice and patience. I love the moves and it's swings. It's hypnotical and very beautiful. I love Archery too. Archer characters always attract me in movies and somehow brings out one's sharp wits, analytical mind and sophistication.

if in games, sword better...if in real life, gun better...

my fav wepon is the sword and i only say that cos iv practist swordsmanship for about 6 yers now

well my fav wepon is kunai 1 u can use it as close range and since it is short it is harder to break 2 u can use it for far range like a shuriken bur more staight. it might not be al mighty but if ur quick and precise u can hit a vital point and kill them easily.

I really love swords like Katanas, but guns beat swords in the reality.
Marterial Arts are something special, you don't need anything, just your own body.. and that is your weapon.

But in the end I prefer swords <3

Guns. Vash the Stampede would definitely beat Rurouni Kenshin, not that I have anything against RK. I love RK, don't get me wrong.
