so Halo 2 was realeased this tuesday and many people missed class just so they could "be amongst the first to play it" but, is it really worth missing class when your life is depending on it?? what i mean is, up hear in northbay canada, many people decided to skip class just to play halo 2, yea it is a god game and al but no game should be worth missing class when your in colledge right? i plan to get it but you don't see me risking my career for it. this also seemed to happen back home in mexico city, aparently 1/10 of highschool was missing because the did the same thing. soo wats your opinion on this?

I used to skip school just to get a game. I remember when FF7 came out I kinda drop out for 1 year ( the teacher was also blackmailing me) but I did cause I was a hardcore gamer back then. Now I just got Halo 2 but I didn't really play it much and I don't know why they made it out like it was so great. It's almost the same as the 1st Halo. I guess, that's the only thing they got going for the Xbox. In the end it's just another good 1st person shooter. I'm waiting for TimeSplitters: Future Perfect.

Halo's an alright game, but to skip schools too crazy. If I skipped class for a game
my mom'll kill me...:)

If you dont want to go to school then dont, go play Halo2. I dont like it when there's too much hype and too little quality to back up but Halo 2 is a good game so I dont really mind too much.

hmm ya halo 2 is great. especially after u beat halo 1 countless times and read the books 5 times each. but still missing school just to play it? thats absurd. school is waymore important than games.

hmmmm, I'd skip school for the game, yup.

I don't see anything In school that I couldn't learn on my own better, faster.

*rofl* Why? XD Probably because Halo1 was the only game worth considering getting an X-Box over. Um... well, then again just one day of class isn't absolutely critical. :\ Conversely, I'm with you. Wouldn't miss a day just for a game release. Just a handful of hours it's over and you can get it without wagging. >_>

i didnt skip my school for the game, but maybe i should have :D
its really good, i really needed something after endeslly playing halo 1
great multiplayer options too.
the only bad side about it is the pistol i think, it was my favorite weapon in halo 1 but i havent found an use for it in halo 2...sad

pffff i wouldn't buy an xbox for halo ever, maybe ninja gaiden...

i really thought halo 2 wasn't that good

I got my copy that night (monring, 12am) and never played it till the next day (after getting some sleep from that night, going to classes, and work). It's only now that I got sometime to play, but so far, I've been only able to put in 6 hrs so far. Thats from playing Wednesday night, and Thursday morning.

Yea, college to me is a little more important, and work...well, I need the money in order to pay for the rest of my freaking bills. So, playing Halo 2 right now isn't really one the top of my priority.

So far, the game isn't all that great, personally. It almost feels like Unreal Tournament 2k4. But then again, maybe thats is just me.

I saw alot of Halo 2 advertisements in many magazines and also a tv commerical for it. And, alot of posters and signs in many retail game stores too. There was alot of speculation that it would be game of the year. I guess the pr guys did a good job of promoting it early.

People actually waited until midnight in front of game stores to 'get it first', c'mon people, get a life. It's not the best game in the world. Far from it. There's plenty of 1st person shooters out there.

Hello... So Halo 2 huh? Well yeah, I would buy it but I don't have an Xbox. If it came out for PC I would just reserve it and wait until I have time to buy it. a lot of my friends bought it already and they think they can make me jealous by talking about it to me. Halo 2 is very over rated. It's just like the 1st Halo but a little better, like a newer version of a car. :\ :hmpf:

halo 2 is fun but i don't know if would be worth missing school though. I already beat it and i didn't miss school.

It's in all in your mind scope. To some people, one class isn't that important. To others, school is only something their being forced to go to in the first place. So, it doesn't really matter. I mean, really, it is one class. In all honesty, it's not going to change your life. That's the truth.

Some people skip class for no apparent reason. Just to sleep in, or hang out with friends that they see every day. At least playing a game on opening day is some kind of excuse...

...lets see..Halo 2 + Game Of the Year Award + One of the Most Popular Titles = people WILL DO JUST about anything TO GET.....hello its Halo, you just can't beat it.This game has everything you could what,i recently got the Special Edition one and the game has everything that Halo 1 had and made it 10x better!I mean what can be better than killing every aliens @$$ and trying to save the world. The story gets really good and the graphicvs have gotten really good. Its starting to look like Half-Life 2 and Doom 3 got some compition to face.I mean, just go to the nearby ebgames or gamestop store and PLAY IT or go get the first one...i'm not lying when i mean you'll love it!!!REALLY!!

they play cause theire addicted, if they are like that anyways, i dont think it would matter if they missed class, they're probably barly passing anyways

and for the rest of the ppl, they shouldnt be influenced so much on hype, i bought halo 2 because i liked halo 1, i didnt care what all new was in it, and online multiplayer was a big bonus

I agree. Collage is way more improtant but if ur in universtiy.
hell man, forget about games lol
u'll have a hard time.

We may have gone into the big city to buy it, and got back at two, and played until five, but then we went to sleep went to class, and played it for the rest of the day. You need to know when to do it, early in the morning and late at night, that way you play and go to class, everyone wins.

i think halo2 is good, better then halo1 was but i will never skip my school for it,
alltough i admit im doin lees about school because i wanted to play it some more lately ^.^

I got the halo 2 soundtrack yesterday and i have to say that the soundtrack was better then the game.

Halo 2 isn't really that hot. The thing that hypes it up is the fact that many console gamers haven't realized that shooting games on consoles suck.

I work at Gamestop and play more games than most people out there, and I can pretty much say that Halo 2 did not live up to the hype. I picked up Fatal Frame 2: Director's Cut over it if that says anything =P

Half Life 2 > Halo 2

=)
