Yeah, Tokyopop change almost everything that they translate, one obvious case is
in the Samurai Deeper Kyo manga where they suddenly go for calling a group the 4
emperors to the 4 kings when they changed the person doing the adaptation. In a
lot of the others you can see a lot of Americanisms cropping up. Its gotten so
bad that I'm only picking up series that I've already started, and one of those
I've stopped buying as well.

to exist, and this resulted in a power vacuum which various groups tried to take
advantage of. When America insisted that Palestine was destroyed to make way for

continued to support Israel and to impose diplomatic sanctions on other

I don't dislike all Americans, just the idiots amongst them, who seem to be far

Usually it's a large amount of the dialogue that is changed, although there are
things that could be considered important to the plot or concept of the series
that get changed/mistranslated/ignored.
As a study for the complete ignoring of plot there is Macross, which was never
translated, the characters were renamed and a completely new dialogue was added,
using the same animation but a different plot. There's a reason the English
version is called Robotech, although the company involved was not
Tokyopop.

Carcinogenic...well, because of preservatives, I think. Pa really hates
chemically preserved stuff, like canned things, just anything artificial...he's
a vegan, anyway, so he doesn't really have a problem with that...I love to cook
so I think natural preparation is still the best.

British, do not gamble with the British." on the other side it reads
"You will lose." In addition to this there is a fairly regular
competition between teams from various branches of the militaries of both
countries, the only parts regularly won by the Americans are things like the
parade marches, while in the parts involving marksmanship or room by room
clearance the British win.
The Middle East's problems are also due in quite a large part to the British
Empire. And yes the Soviet Union has been defunct for over a decade.

looking them up did involve an SAS sniper who dropped about 10 points over a
multiday shoot, three days of which it was raining. It's not so much poor as
extremely outclassed. It's also of note that they training for their special
units is roughly similar to the basic Uk infantryman's, and that US fire
doctrine is to use fully automatic weapons to make people stay in cover so that
explosives can then take out the target. This, and the numbers from damn, I
don't remember if it's Vietnam or Korea, showed that less than one in every
three hundred rounds fired from the basic troopers' weapon hit. [This is from a
mix of the conditions, poor training, and the low quality of their
weapons]
