I read them in the book store but I'd rather read at home. So people don't see my outrageous expressions.

I read mine usually at home or in the park. Some of the more expensive ones I read in the store, then buy them later if I like them. XD

Why not? I can read manga anywhere allowed.
Unless you're reading some h-manga...

I read *some* manga in public and leave the *others* for at home....

i read manga in my pc xD. But i wouldnt be embarrased at all reading it in public, i think i'd even be proud xD

Hahah u r just like me!

i read manga wherever, whenever. nobody cares, people are more worried about their own little lives than what somebody's reading. most of the time i read it on the train on the way home from work so i dont have to see the same scenery again! or before going to sleep at night. i'm a high school temp teacher, and a lot of the students know i read manga and love anime, and a few of the kids have caught me at Borders bookshop and said "miss what are you doing here?" but they think its cool... well theyr there being little manga readers too hey?....

o.O Why wouldn't you. If your too a afraid to let people know you read Manga; I wouldn't even know why you would be ashamed. Then people shouldn't even read Manga or be in the fandom.

I do it often, but outside of work. My bosses don't give a damn about what I do on my own time in and out of the office as long as it doesn't embarass the firm. I don't think our clients would be so understanding, so I keep the around-the-work reading manga/watching anime on my psp or playing a psp/ds to the bare minimum (only to and from work).

I have reduced the IE window this is in to about the size of the text box so a client can't surprise me...

That said, I do all of the above on the metro and, if it's a good part, walking home from the metro (too crowded usually on the way to the metro). On the rare slow day I walk to the nearby borders and plunk down and read a manga/draw/paint on my lunch break.

That said, I wouldn't read something ecchi or something that might even have ecchi scenes in it (I flip through it before I decide where to read it) on the metro. Same way I wouldn't read a maxim or whatever on the metro (or at all, but that's another matter) or play a gory video game on the metro or even in public. Just because I'm cool with it I don't think I should necessarily run the risk of someone prudish or some kid seeing it.

That said, I've never lived in a particularly liberal area and I think there is really no special stigma around manga or anime v. comics or cartoons amongst the general populace. I'm sure plenty of people don't even know the difference. I remember when I was younger (like a long time ago... when I was like 12-16) I would occasionally get heckled a little. But so what? People will always tease you a bit and growing a skin and knowing how to tease back is an important lesson in life... don't you think?

I read manga in the train

I personally don't care what people say when I'm reading something anymore.
I'll read a manga anytime, anyplace, anywhere.
But right now, I just read them on my monitor.

i read manga every place i go and dont really care about the people around me but it is really funny when im reading some real ecchi manga and they get a look of what im reading that makes me giggle inside
