I agree with you. it's disgusting. i am a major...*searching for word*...well, i
just really really really hate cursing. it's vulgar and gross and immature and
sounds so stupid. and in children, it's just worse.
I agree, people who curse all the time are just immature. They can't think of
anything meaningful to say so they just spurt out any bad word they can think
of. Children pick it up from these people, and it's just sad. I hope the kids
become smarter when they're older and use better words
How could that ever be a good learning tool? Most people don't even use them in
a way that makes sense. If people who throw the curse words around in everyday
conversation actually inserted a synonymous word in it's place they might
realize how stupid they sound. Sadly, I don't have much hope for the mass
populace of the next generation not just because there is so much more tolerance
of foul language, but apparently a lot of people seem to think it is
"funny". I don't know about other countries in this area, but comedy
movies nowadays where I'm from seem like they rely on cursing and sexuality as
it's primary source of laughs rather than clever humor. It's rather depressing.
*Sigh* I'll say this again, words can not be "bad". It's not the word,
it's the emotion or message behind the word. No one wants to change the attitude
of these words, they simply want to change or replace the word. I can say ass as
long as I'm talking about a donkey, but when I'm talking about someones ass,
it's suddenly bad. And the logic you people are using. It "degrades my
personality", "makes you look like a criminal". Who gives you the
right to say such things about other people. I'd say that's a lot worse than
some random person saying fuck. Maybe you should step back and think about what
is truly offensive or vulgar.

speaking bad language
It's not about looking cool. It's about the first amendment which was put in
place to protect even the most heinous Neo-Nazi speech and the painful blather
of idiotic tree huggers. Men and women fought and died for our right to freedom
of speech.
I wasn't flaming you or anyone else, if anything, they were flaming me and other
people. I was merely pointing out flawed logic. Saying that "Bad"
language is hurtful then saying bad things about the people who use it. Am I the
only one who sees the irony in that statement? Bad language isn't the words you
use, its the conveyed emotion behind those words. The intent to insult someone.
Do you honestly think words like myopic, despot, moronic, etc, etc are any
better?
"Bad" words change with time. In the 1800's you couldn't say arm or
leg or anything else referring to anatomy. That's why its called light and dark
meat on chicken. It was offensive to call it breast or leg.
Occasional cursing isn't bad in my opinion, but when the F word or some other
such nonsense is used almost every other word it only makes the speaker look
foolish. When a f*** is in order i'll be the first to say it. Other times i'll
think of something else to say.
well it's not always the kid's fault, you must remeber that kids always mimic
what they hear and see from their elders, if the elders use it or they watch
shows that have it in it, then here comes the ending bad result of it
the kids of tommorow are in grade school and they Know more curse words than a elephant weigh's.
if you think this is the kind of language that kids at that age should speak or learn POST IT!

Bad language in school is not a good learning tool at all.
If it becomes a habit, it will just degrade your personality.
the bad language makes looks you like a criminal to anyone

Agreed...
BTW, we all have different perspective on the matter, so please don't flame us if we are heading to the opposite direction...
Just my 2 cents

Using any word over and over again is never a good thing unless it's a preposition, linking verb, etc.
