I am wanting to put up a piece of my work. I don't know if I should put it under Indy Art or Scans. The main cause of my indecision is that I don't know what the difference between Indy Art and Scans are.

So if you wish to spare time and enlighten me, then please begin typing!
(If it helps, the art is art that I hand drew, then colored with color pencils)

Hmmm. My second post never submitted.... I'll just have to post again.

From research and looking around (wouldn't that be research, too?) I am believing that Indy art is fan based art. Indy could even mean independent, but I'm not sure.

If this is true, would that mean that scans are professional/published work?

Indy art would be art made by the users. Other terms for this include fanart and doujinshi, but anime-styled original art is also accepted as indy art. Vectors also fall under the indy art category.
Scans are official pieces released by the companies, and come from places like magazines, promotional flyers, calendars, DVD/CD covers, manga, etc and so forth.

Oh, thank you. That is going to help me greatly.
