What you guys think of the movie called Parasite Eve and the samurai
movies?
I totally like samurai movies I have a Japanese fixation on Japanese movies.
HERE A QUOTE FROM ME:
I've seen quite a few japanese movies. I think I've got a collection hidden in
my room somewhere. I'm not really into samurai movies but just like Onimusaru,
I've seen Shinobi. It's a good movie but it doesn't live up to the anime;
Basilisk, which its based from.
Favourite Japanese movie so far is Taiyou no Uta or Battle Royale series.
I'm an addict to japanese films and I have, to date, seen all that are in
america and currently working on buying the ones I liked and currently searching
for some new ones that have been released in japan...I do watch other foreign
films like korean, thai, chinese and sometimes I'll watch a good russian movie
with a good plot, but rarely though...my favorite gere for japanese films is of
course horror (in my opinion japanese can scare me better than american ever
could in their movies) and I also like drama, thriller and sometimes a romance,
but the romance I love is where, regardless of their wanting to be together,
they both die in the end...love tradegies...probably why I love japanese films
so much they don't believe in happy ever after endings
I've only seen a few, but the ones i've seen I've liked. Seven Samurai is an
awsome movie. (the anime isn't bad either, but not as good as the movie) When I
was little, I watched a ton of Godzilla movies. Though most of them are just fun
monster movies (never a bad thing), the original is more of a social comentary
than purely a monster movie. I got the version that has the orginal Japanese and
the released in America versions for Christmas. Its good stuff, and I recomend
it to anyone who likes Godzilla or movies in general.
I also saw a movie called "Karate Bull Fighter" staring, i think Sunny
Chiba. It was on IFC late one night. It was much better than the title
suggested.
I'd like to see more (and more serious) Japanese films, but don't usually have
the time or drive to do the research. Any recomendations for us busy or lazy
folks?

I kinda' like the film adaptation of Death Note. There are 2 parts to the movie
- Death Note and Death Note: The Last Name (Well, 3 if you include L's spinoff).
Might be worth a watch for those interested.
I think Japanese movies tend to be difficult to westerns understanding... They
comprise subtle feelings from their most particular culture and has a kind of
logic that's difficult and over dramatic for grasping.
Even though I kinda like some... Not that I've watched many.
i've seen quite a bit of japanese films and i like them. i watch a lot of
foreign films though, such as korean, italian, chinese and others. if i had to
pick a certain genre i'd say something with comedy/horror, my favourite movie
genres. just from memory i would say that some of my favourite japanese films
are Odoru daisosasen, koroshiya 1 and of course Battle Royale, all of which are
good films IMO. other films i would recommend, though not for everyone, are
Chinjeolhan geumjassi, suspiria, Janghwa, Hongryeon, Ong-bak and Oldboy.
Noooo! They are horrible. My personality splited for two independent pieces
after seeing one of them. Scary, what people can do with a good begining of a
story >,<

I seen quiet a number of japanese movies. Most of the ones i seen are pretty mediocre.
The only one that actually stands out for me is Azumi, and
maybe Shinobi as well.
Cool I saw Azumi but I haven't seen Shinobi. What is it about?
Have you seen any anime?
