Realistically, a gunman would have a huge advantage over a swordsman in most scenarios. As far as the cool-factor is concerned... Idunno. I like the mechanical aspect of guns, but swords are beautiful in their simplicity. Eh, I choose a gun AND a sword lol. I have two hands, after all.

i'd definitely say guns are better just 'cause realistically, they are far superior and more reliable than any bladed weapon (n i'm army; not bias either since i also took kendo before i joined the military). although having both in each hand would be awesome. or maybe something like squall's gunblade would be awesome, too.

martial arts are cool, especially de moves yo cant see : D

I much prefer a sword because it has a better conrol(control the life of your enemy) even it heavier than a gun because if you press the triger, you can't stop it if you sudenly change your
mind.

If you want a fast-paced fight, then gun will be a good choice.
But, if you want a dramatic (plus cool background music) one, then sword might come first in mind....

A professional swordsman can't block a bullet. If he did, it would be by pure luck. Unless your refering to anime and such.

Um... swords usually. But it depends on the sword and depends on the character.
i really like Inuyasha's sword in the beginning but then i got tired of it because it's so big and bulky...

Sword. This is because with a sword, the character can show off his/her skills, guns are overrated.

when it comes to animes -- swords! they're classic and there's always that mysterious aura. It's like with guns, you drew and then shoot, but with swords, every move is like an art itself. (of course it's different when it comes to real life)

pfft! guns are overrated, i'd take a gunsword over them any day. swords kick ass too.

I put in a vote for swords, as I'm rather fond of them myself. Anime swords often seem to be more than a match for guns, anyway. :P
