Which browser do you use or want to use?
Which do you think is the best?

From latest post:

Quote by chaos850I'm expanding this thread (I can do that right?) to basically discuss anything and everything about web browsers. Which browser are you using? Why? Ask questions about your browser here and perhaps we can help. Voice your complaints and praises. Also, I would like to discuss the new Google Chrome. Are you using it? What do you think of it? Is it good? Fast? Secure? User-friendly?

I use Firefox the most, plus it loads faster. And tabbed browsing rocks.

Well I'm using it right now so it's my choice but Opera is good for me too so I use it sometimes

I'm pretty sure there is a thread like this already :/

Anyway, Firefox is customizable, and there is a huge programmer-society that provides us extensions for everything :)

Opera also is customizable, but there aren't that many easy-to-use extensions.

IE is one joke of a browser, okay? I consider it rather a spyware than a decent application.

Firefox all the way for me :) I guess other members have already mentioned the reasons. It is just very convenient and fast :)

By the way, what other browsers are out there aside Firefox, Opera, and IE? :o

I use Firefox and I love it,not only you can change the looks of it,it's faster and even when something went wrong that you had to incorrectly close Firefox,it will ask if you want to restart the last session.(unlike Internet Explorer, there you had to search through everything again to find the place you were surfing about)

There's one called Netscape, but I don't know much about it.
^_^'

Oh Netscape! Yeah I forgot about that one. All I know is that Netscape and Mozilla are closely connected to each other. I heard Netscape funded the Mozilla project. Our professor in one of our tech subjects had mentioned Netscape Navigator as one of the earliest Browsers in Computer history. :)

I prefer Opera, but then again, I'm heavily into web programming and design, so anything that plays well with standards gets a few bonus points, and Opera being the top browser for standards (plus being light and fast) make it a very tasty choice.

Firefox comes in as a solid second, but I generally only switch to Firefox when I want to use the StumbleUpon extension.

All other browsers come in a distant third, and IE comes in Last - 1000. I am sick of having to develop for IE, and with how MS did the whole standards vs. how-it-was-done-before bit in IE8, it'll still be difficult to work with. Never mind that IE7, despite being out for over a year, has only recently surpassed IE6 for market share, IE8 is going to be four or five years before it is dominant enough to really warrant being able to ignore the old if IE statements.

Of course, I also have a text-only browser, to get an idea of what my site will "look" like to a blind person with an aural reader without having to drop large amounts of money on the more common ones. I've found that if a site reads well in Lynx, then it will generally read well in the aural browsers.

Opera.

I use Opera coz I like the gestures and the coltrol you have on what loads on a page and what doesnt. The customizability of the interface is also great. You can just put links and buttons wherever you like. I also use Firefox when I want to save pages, coz for some reason my Opera doesnt save pages well. I guess if opera didnt exist I'd be happy with Firefox. Infact, if Firefox didnt exist I'd learn HTML code and view pages in that. (anything is better than IE, and I actually hate IE8 more than all the others)

I use Mozilla Firefox and Opera together in Windows. In CentOS, I use Lynx and sometimes Mozilla Firefox.
ealpha-scorpio, there are more browsers besides Internet Explorer, Mozilla Firefox and Opera: Camino and SeaMonkey, by Mozilla; Apple Safari, KDE Konqueror and GNOME Epiphany.

Firefox for browsing.
Internet Explorer for updating Windows.

Firefox, then Opera, then Safari, preference in that order. I'm a windows user, but I kinda like Safari when I use it at school.

...ie sux lol

Firefox is the best. You can get so much extension for free to expand you firefox, and, Firefox is safe enough for me.

Firefox. Simple, plenty of options for customization and it loads up general web pages faster than the half-functional joke known as internet explorer.

Firefox is the fastest browser of them all but use the highest memory.
Opera uses low memory but not as fast as Firefox.
So Firefox is the best xp

Netscape Navigator is dead, AOL ceased all support and recommends using Firefox

holyPaladin, check the chart at http://blog.pavlov.net/2008/03/11/firefox-3-memory-usage/, it shows that on the long run IE is much worse.

Personally I use Firefox 3 (nightly builds), it's stable enough for me and much faster than v2. I choose it because it makes developing websites easier - there are some really helpful extensions which make my life easier. With time I got accustomed to it and it stayed that way.

The second one on my list is Opera, I use it occasionally when I have to check its rendering. Some say it's better than FF, some claim otherwise. I think choosing between the two is a matter of personal preference as both of them work really good.

The last is IE, which I use only for updating Windows and fighting with Microsoft's ideas about rendering webpages. It got a little better in IE7 but it still isn't usable for me.

i like IE but i don't like IE7

Firefox is the best! ^^ I use firefox because it is quicker and more manageable but I also love to use Opera

I love FireFox the best! :) It's easy navigation, tabbed browsing! ;) The scripts also are the best. :D Opera comes in second. I am really not familiar with Opera but it's pretty decent as it is a bit similar to Firefox so I manage once in awhile.

One thing is for sure. I really dislike IE right now. I am not able to open any webpage at this moment. Too many spyware and adware. Too much popups if no popup block software/program available. I wonder why MS continues to work on IE when all they're trying to do is do a similar navigator like FireFox. x3

i've been using opera coz its speed. But, after i try Firefox 3 beta, i switch into firefox 3 :D

Mozilla Firefox, cause i rely on the add-on like NoScript and Adblock Plus.Mouse gesture does not only exist in Opera,i just need to use another add-on for mouse gesture in Firefox.Just make myself more secure on the web. There are some memory hog problem with firefox, but i heard it will be solve in the upcoming new version.

firefox i use the most.but i use opera and explorer.but i dont use this 2 really often because firefox is fast

Mozilla Firefox! The best! I hope the 3rd version :D
