the word "country" means fairly little to me as I've spent equal
amount of my life in various countries/places. i was born in a taiwanese family
in HKG while it's still under the British rule. i stayed in taiwan for a while.
i studied back in HKG for a couple of years. i went to the States; i was in
Australia during uni. days. i now reside between HKG and Shanghai.
To me, the country that has done something for me was in Aussie Land. She taught
me a lovely Aussie accent and shares her love of a sunburnt country with me.
But, am I proud to be an Aussie? Maybe not. I know very little about the
country's history, i can't relate, i am yellowish skin not white. The Aussie
calls me China man while Uncle Sam calls me the bloke from down under.
After landing myself a job in HK, due to my lovely accent, HKers label me as
"the guy whose english sounds funny". And when i'm in taiwan, i've
heard people referred to me as "the guy who can't speak our dialect".
When i'm in Shanghai, people find me amusing for reasons yet to be found out.
Bottom line: no, i can't see any reasons why i could be proud or love &
embrace all these countries/places. All i can come to appreciate is the nature
wonders and beauties they offer.
"All you people up there...in city hall,
You're ******* it up for the people that's in the streets!
This is a song for the people in the streets, not the people city
hall."
Couldn't resist the Tenacious D reference \o/
Yeah, I suppose I like the U.S. I haven't had that much reason to hate it more
than any other country.
All the countries and nations are just like kids at a playground. There's the
bullies, the nerds, the geeks, the poor kids, the rich kids, the bullIED, and
the average kids that are more like scenery. Unfortunately, the U.S. falls under
the bully category at this point in time but they aren't the only ones so its
not like I can just be mad at the U.S.

country could seem better but as the old saying tells, there's no place like
home.
where ever you go and travel there is no place like your home land .....
sometimes you would think other country may be better than your's but you will
return to the idea
Not as much as i know i could. The united states are in some difficult times
right now and the country isn't really in it's best shape.Even though i should
be thankful for what it is i just can't seem to think so.We could make some
choices that would make alot of us more proud.
erm..still.ok..but not so love..dun know how to say..many problem at my country..but they still don know whats going on..!

I don't really like my country, but I like my language. Wouldn't give up this part of me no matter what.
I want my own county not a country thats trying so hard to send me to Iraq to get shot.
