Remember Dear Catholic

One Eternity to expect
Death will come soon
Judgement will follow
Hell or Heaven forever!
" I will be with you until the consummation of the world..."
Konnichiwa Minna!
Do you believe that the end of time is near? For me I think yes. There are many visible signs that it is the beginning yet it goes unnoticed because we are swept away of the pleasures and worries of the world. Perversion is going crazy, global warming worsening, food and water supply is going scarce, new and deadly diseases, non ending political and economical wars and many more
This is just the beginning and it could get worse...
Not until Our Lady of Fatima's wish will be into reality then we are in borrowed time. We could have been finished long ago but Our lady stopped the hand of God to destroy us. Plus the Prophecy of St. Malachy. Our recent pope, which is Pope Benedict XVI, is second to the last Pope. His predictions was almost accurate especially about Pope Benedict the XVI.
The theologians translated...
Gloria olivæ
The Benedictine order traditionally said this Pope would come from their order, since a branch of the Benedictine order is called the Olivetans. St Benedict is said to have prophesied that before the end of the world, a member of his order would be Pope and would triumphantly lead the Church in its fight against evil. While the Holy Father chose the name "Benedict", this does not seem enough to fulfil the prophecy. Nor is it clear how Benedict XVI (a Bavarian) is "Glory of the Olives". Since he is said to have remarked in the Conclave after saying he would take the name Benedict that it was partly to honour Benedict XV, a pope of peace and reconciliation, perhaps Benedict XVI will be a peacemaker in the Church or in the World, and thus carry the olive branch...
The Last pope would be named as Peter the Roman according to the Saint's prediction..
In persecutione extrema S.R.E. sedebit Petrus Romanus, qui pascet oves in multis tribulationibus: quibus transactis civitas septicollis diruetur, & Judex tremêdus judicabit populum suum. Finis.
(In extreme persecution, the seat of the Holy Roman Church will be occupied by Peter the Roman, who will feed the sheep through many tribulations, at the term of which the city of seven hills will be destroyed, and the formidable Judge will judge his people. The End.)
I've heard of the End of Times all my damn life. My grandparents told me when I was 7 that I didn't even need to worry about graduating high school since the End of Times was near. Here I am 24 years old and still kicking. One guy I worked with was convinced 2007 was it because of all the "signs." How did that one work out?
Everyone gets convinced on their own that they have the whole End of Time thing figured out. The signs always point to the end, and yet we continue on. If the supposed End of Times happens while I'm alive my only reaction will be "Well ain't that a bitch." But I'm not betting on it.
Yup I know that everyone is somehow pissed about this parousia.
Still, a question bothers me, "Am I ready to die and face reality and GOD himself?"
We never know when we die or end of times will come. We are lucky that we are still alive and kicking. It means that He is giving us enough time to repent and amend our sins. Destiny and Fate is sometimes cruel and Death comes like a thief in the night. People might not notice it because they just took for granted the chance and think "I can always do that tomorrow.."
For all I care, I can go to hell.
I will not allow someone, somebody to dictate to me how I should act, how I should think, how I should eat.
And why be absorbed on this whole damn thing?
Well, I know. But I'm not forcing you guys out of this. I'm just curious about whats your opinions about this topic
i dont know bout that, but when the time's come, it's when people most in the not-cautious condition
Hmm..The End of everything well looks like its just like Pharos said in Persona 3 "No one can escape time. It delivers us all to the same end. You can't plug your ears and cover your eyes."
End of time? You're kidding...
There's actually theory that Earth will end in 2012 because the Mayan calendar ends there...and I don't believe it...
This one? Nah...
that's utter wishful thinking.
we just don't want to die alone. we just don't want to die, but the whole world to end.
somehow to stop our aging. to end our worries.
someone to clean up all our mess and 'save' us.
for a fresh start.
is it.
we are responsible for our place, and for the people around us and for what we let them do.
we are the only ones who can do something about it.
we are responsible before everyone else, and before the one we want to be saved by.
what we do and what we don't do does matter. here and now and forever.
world's end is what we can do to ourselves. and we can.
one good monk wakes up his brethren before every dawn saying:
it is morning. you are one day closer to your death.
that is truth.
and if you are a christian, can you call this a lie?:
''I shall not again curse the ground on man's account, for the inclination of the human heart is evil from their youth, and I shall not again strike all the living as I have done. All the rest of the days of the earth, seed and harvest, and cold and heat, and summer and winter, and day and night shall not cease.''
Onyhow, take a look at the I Ching and its cycle of events. The dates end on the same day as the Mayan calendar. The date is found in other places, as well, but to be quite frank, it sounds like more mumbo-jumbo to me, and is just another way of pointing out the celestial event that will take place (the center of the galaxy, the Sun and the Earth are all in alignment).
As for these "end of the world" people... Groups have claimed the world will end for 2000 years or more. Even Jesus himself, if one is to believe the Christian bible is more than just text, said he would return before the currently-living generation had passed, and that has happened many, many times over (unless we are all currently living in Hell).
These groups are little better than depressing entertainment, and the only reason they are depressing is because so many people believe them. As an example: The Russian cultists who have sealed themselves in a cave, claiming the world will end in May, 2008, or the UFO cult predicting the end in July, 2008. Let's not forget the religious woman who claimed the world would end in December, 2007, and got a large amount of televised air time to spout the ideas (and, as an aside, this woman has now claimed that the world will end in December, 2008, and that she simply had the date wrong).
Personally, I think the world has already ended. We are all living in a stasis system, waiting for a Great Hero to revive the burnt-out husk of the Earth. Don't believe me? The world ended on October 1, 1997. You can get your evidence from the Book of Crystalis. There has even been a game made of it! Surely nobody who is of sound mind could debate such proof?
I've heard that one too, but I've actually heard someone else's theory on that one. The Mayan calendar ends in 2012, but does that mean the end of the world? Couldn't it also be the end of civilization as we know it? What would change the face of mindkind forever? How about first contact with alien life? If we made contact with an alien being that would certainly change the face of soceity as we know it now.
That's the thing, that theory is just as viable as the world coming to an end. Honestly I think those who are just so sure the world is going to end because of all the signs they see, are just so wrapped up in being right about everything. What is the ultimate thing to be right about? The end of humanity. As for the comment above about "we are being given time on Earth", yea that's one way to look at it... if you want to completely remove free will. Besides, what kind of a**hole would say "I'm gonna give you this world to live on. Your gonna fall in love, become succesful and enjoy life. But I'm gonna come back one day and end it all, and if you didn't worship me, you can't come home with me." Sounds a lot like a child who lets another play with it's toy, only to get pissed when it does.
Yeah, I know what you guys talking about, but don't we have a certain purpose in living in this cruel world of ours? Somehow in our life, do we thought about "Why I'm alive here at earth? Out of the countless people getting born, why me? Do I have a purpose?"
Yeah yeah! People just proclaim the end of times at their own way and understanding. thats why we are forewarned that there are many false prophets and Christs telling people they are the truth...
Read Some parts of the Book of Revelations. It might help dicern things clearly. hope so...
Revelations has to be one of the funniest books in the Christian holy text.
Go read it, and keep track of what is happening. Several things happen multiple times (how many times can the stars be wiped from the skies? Also, how are they stars wiped from the skies and fall to Earth if they are massive balls of fire much like our own Sun, and many of which are much, much larger?)
Not only do things happen multiple times, events of absurd impossibilities are brought up numerous times (Heaven will be seven times brighter than Earth, you say? And Hell will have molten brimstone? There is a certain temperature after which brimstone goes from a molten state to a gaseous state, which is, humorously enough, much cooler than Heaven would be if it were receiving seven times the light that Earth does).
I could fill an entire library with the flaws presented in the Revelations, simply by presenting them, examining them and presenting why they are absurd, impossible or, even better, object proof that the Christian god is a god of wrath and murder, as opposed to the god of peace and life Christians would have you believe it is.
However, considering this isn't exactly the place for such a thing, and considering that many others have done it before I, go do a little research (and remember, "revelation" is a very common word, so going to Google and putting the phrase, "revelations flaws" [sans quotes] into the search box and come back here claiming "There are no sites about the flaws!" will get you laughed at).
Go do a little research before you start spouting out about your holey book.
I know but you dont have to be so literal about it! Thats why I said It MIGht help...
The Bible is a book read with deep understanding, dont it?
Well I have no right to judge people...
With the poll and the people participating this thread, I think majority doesn't care about the So-Called End...
Thank you guys for your participation!
my religion doesn't teach the end of days/times my teaches a dark point in history due to man's own selfish design...and my personally believe this I don't believe the world will end, it's a cycle, vicious one at that, that no matter how hard "we" try to "play well with others" it all comes down to this, another dark point, that the greater beings have to step in and put us in time out for not playing well with others and then we go back to playing farely then all of a sudden it comes to pass that the whole thing is back where it use to be...rather sad in my opinion...although, my research in mother nature, we're pass due for another ice age, not THE ice age, but normally about 2-5k years we get a mini ice age
what's ur religion?
Yes end of time is coming. I don't know when or how. It will eventually. Just as theory about every beienging has it end. whatever is good or bad. Just like life. You born you die. Same as earth. or should I say like any other plants (stars).
when the time's come, it's when people most in the not-cautious condition
i doubt that. i say it's when humans render the planet useless by depleting all of the natural resources and us colonizing other planets and being attacked by aliens for provoking them and whatnot; or when the sun dies, engulfing us along with other planets within its blast radius.
By my count we got at least 40,000 years before the end.
well,i will say is i dont care about it.as long as i can try my very best to do something that i want to fulfill them,i dont care the end of time is coming.besides that,i know that 1 day i also will die so what for care about the end of time.^^
Uh...can you explain why?
I don't get it...
By my count we got at least 40,000 years before the end.
I say that doomsday will come when God want it
"Doomsday" will come for the Earth when natural or human forces bring it about (asteroids, our Sun becoming a Red Giant, global warming, nuclear/very-bad-non-nuclear war, etc).
Unfortunately, since there is always some religious person claiming "the world will die this year!" there will be some religious cult who is correct. Even more unfortunate, they'll tout that (if humanity survives in some way) and probably get a large portion of the sheeple who follow religion to convert to their cult because of it.
And before any religion who think themselves above a cult status (Christianity, Islam, Catholics, et cetra, ad infinum, ad nauseum) try to claim "mi relijun iz naht lyk dat!" I suggest you do a little bit of detective work and ask Google about the cultist nutjobs who have gone around for the past thousands of years claiming, in the name of their religion, that the world was going to end in the current or next year.
For the past thousands of years (tens of, hundreds of, however long humanity has been following false idols) every last one of them has been wrong. They will continue to be wrong for the millions of years to come, and so will anybody who actually believes in some religious cult.
