I've been pretty interested in myths and it got me thinking what if they we're real like we see in movies or videogames? Would it be cool or just plain disaster?

Oh yeah I'm talking about something like Greek Mythology and stuff for those who don't understand

I suppose it would be disastrous after a while, imagine what happened if everyone's Gods became reality! For Christians (I am one myself) and other religions that resemble it it would mean that there is more than one God, which contradicts the belief.
It would be a good thing too, though, maybe this way people would stop fighting about whose God is "best". I would like to see the Greek and Egyptian mythologies become reality, they have always fascinated me.

What a disaster...

Since all religion become true, aliens exist, mythological creatures, dinosaurs, and all types of creatures (including the old gods, like Cthulhu...) exist, all conspiracy theory exist, we shape the world by our thoughts...(since myths are our creation...but that means we also create god!)

It's total disaster...

Hahaha... If our Timor Island was really formed by deceased body of a dragon? It'd be disastrous, really.
And some lakes which came from unstoppable tear? Well, I should've contacted Guinness Book of Record then.

The Greek Mythology has some nice stories. The myths are intresting too.It would be really awesome to see Aphrodite or Apollo, and maybe Hercules, the nymphs, the muses oh... and Hades too.I say it would be preeety cool.

well, if myth are real... WELCOME!

U wouldnt imagine how much i enjoy readin about mythology n myth, even though i wouldnt like a myth like Jason or Freddy Kruger to exist. guaaah!

but if Myth exists, let it be good, pleeeeeeease!

i wouldn't mind at all. it'll most definitely be awesome. i'm rooting for norse mythology though.

Mythologies are considered religions in their respective places. The Norse, Egyptian and Greek mythologies were all based on their respective beliefs much like Christianity and Islam, the only difference was the that the later concerned actual people and events.

Myths are different from mythologies. Myths are considered legends which includes the supernatural beliefs or fictional beliefs like the Chupacabra, Yeti, Sasquatch, Lochness, the like which were never proven to be real, but possibilities exist.

Jason and Freddy Kruger are urban legends based on certain events. The Blair witch is also an urban legend, but they were never found.

Well if you are looking for mythical figures,
It'd be nice to get a date with Aphrodite (Venus), hang out and play World of Warcraft with Ares (Mars), do some target practice with Zeus (Jupiter), run a few laps with Hermes (Mercury), or do some SCUBA diving with Posidon (Neptune). LOL

I'm Catholic. But I live in a part of Mexico (the Yucatan Peninsula) were myths are veeeery real, and are part of our everyday lives.

The capital, Merida, was built over the ruins of an old mayan city called Tho, or Ichcanziho.

Ghosts, old fallen gods, demonds, spirits of the forest, the mayan version of goblins. In the dry season, wirlhwinds are the manifastation of spirits. The farest you go out from the cities (in some cases, as the capital grows, not so far), the most real and alive they become.

I love myths: Grecoroman (sometimes those gods were way too human... -read lustful- like good old Zeus), Celtic (from their old religion come our stories in elves, faerys and wizards); the witches, demonds and knights from Middle Ages.

It's pretty interesting to find books from the genre... because usually there's not such genre in the bookstores. Sometimes you get them from Antropology books, others I have found in the Esoteric section of the bookstores (even as you have to search among lots of "garbage" books).

in truth, there has always been a thin veil between truth, reality, myth and understanding, sometimes myth always travels with the false aspects, like, for instance, vampyres, sure the tv/movies versions pick them being immortal, etc...the truth is they aren't like that at all, only about 3k roam this planet...the understanding is where that comes into focus, not believing, but understanding...now believing in faeries, etc now that one is harder to grasp but it's not unbelieveable for them to exist, like dragons, they are real it's just they are in the heavens now, instead of here on this realm

It'd be interesting if myths are real...life would be a lot more interesting, especially in the case of Greek mythology X-P

ROFL!

heh...if this did happen, things would definitely get very very interesting. Personally i think that if it all was true then the world would be a hellav a lot more crowded than necessary. Considering on all of the dragons, myhtical creatures, nymphs, super cows, and explosive sheep that would suddenly materialize in the most random of places...

That could be dangerous bussiness: Zeus was a love machine, don't matter if you're boy or girl, if he layed his eyes on you... well, you know what to expect: he'll make you his ephebus. Or leave you pregnat you with a weird child (that happened many times)

If you don't acomplish Poseidon, you better expect something weird to happen, like, let's say, make your wife fall in love with a bull (yeah, that happened once) and have a baby with an ox head.

And let the other 9,999 gods forbid you if you make the other one angry. Aphrodite would be cool, but if you dare to try to score with Diana or Athena, well, the virgin Diana would make you into a deer and hunt you down (that also happened once).

What am I writing about?

Well looks like someone is reading his myths yeah it's quite a dangerous business but for me I really like it when it happens things get interesting, you can have cool powers by consuming magical foods(the golden apples for example) or having a certain item (Thor's Mjollinir, or Odin's Gungnir) , you can have your own mythical creature to play with...if you manage to tame it (I'm going for Cerberus or Fenrir), and if you feel like it make your own adventure(Your own Odyssey)

if that is true then "impending dooM" to all of us hehehe

hahaha. i'd rather die in an epic battle than wait for that impending doom of yours
