This image can be viewed large by everybody (free of credit cost and download quota) (Beta).

What does that mean? Are there any scans or wallpapers that cost anything? Everything I click on is free.

There are two options now, "enlarge" and "download". Enlarge gives you a bigger version of the thumbnail but not the full size, and is free. Download gives you the full size and costs the usual. To download, look on the left of your screen; the options are there.
Personally I think they should get rid of the "enlarge" option and just make bigger thumbnails. Things would be less confusing, and I don't really see "enlarge" as necessary, but that's my opinion.

But behind the "Download" option on the left it also says "Download (free)".
And my Free download Quota does not go down. Is that normal?

Hmm. Mine does the same... I just thought it was my slow connection that just didnt update....

LOL i thought it was just me or is MT becomes generous in DL/ leeching images..
since that notice about beta i'm sure many of us taking the opportunity to leech scans
without costing any credits. I'm not sure how long they will make this kind of experiment
but i hope they will bring back the Leveling status XD ah! miss those past years :D

Maybe a moderator can explain this?

It's exactly as ASH-Hikari said, "enlarge" (ie when you click on the thumbnail picture) gives you a bigger picture than the thumbnail, and is free, and download gives you the full image, which isn't free (unless you have Free Download Quota)

Not sure if it's normal or a bug, but it could be because the information just hasn't updated yet...

We're just experimenting with a few options here :)

Ok. So its not free for everybody then?

Enlarging a picture doesn't cost anything.
Downloading a picture costs 1 point for "free download quota" (at the top of the member zone).
That's it.

I think enlarging pictures is a good idea. Indeed, when I hesitate whether to download or not, most of the time I don't. But now, if I hesitate, I can enlarge and have a better idea of the real picture.

Hmm, I haven't used the enlarge function.
Only the "Download(free)" button. And I downloaded several scans yesterday, but only lost 1 point from my free download quoata and nothing from my ordinary credits.

So I'm not sure whats going on.

Only thing I can suggest is it might be a bug. Not really sure.

Considering how many scans seem to be enlarged anyway (and often poorly, at that), having an option to download a smaller-then-full-size version is a good thing :p

I have a question. I'm not sure if it is a bug, but none of my free downloads ever get used and I have almost 1000 Credits. Everything is free (downloads and enlarge). That's why I don't even bother enlarging because I can just full-view and it doesn't cost me anything. And I definitely go over 5 downloads a day, so I am wondering why neither my credits or free downloads get used up.

Same here! And sometimes I even get my credits increased too... though that could be a different sort of problem. And just by a very little bit. And at odd times like... 3am. When my free download quota is slowly increasing and I download scans. It's...odd. And yes, I really shouldn't be up then. :D

I was wondering if you would ever ask, Scott! I was rather envious of your bug... XD Yes, fix his 'problem'. It's just not fair for the rest of us! :P

Well, I do agree that the enlarge option is useful because it really does help us decide whether or not we really want to download the picture/ art/ scan. Even though I have not been a member for very long, there definitely have been times when I see something that looks promising in the thumbnail but upon full-viewing, am heavily disappointed. Thankfully, the opposite has happened too and I get lovely surprises. ^.^ But the point is, the enlarge option helps! So thanks for putting it in!

Same here, not that I am complaining or anything, all I know is my credits are not changing at all anymore..., I have found that I have not used my download quota at all since the beta phase, and I do select download, and not enlarge. Is this a bug? I would think it would be since some people are getting charged credits and I am not...hmmm

I can't figure out how to download instead of enlarging. I can't tell the difference, and i can't find the supposed download link.

Lol found it like under a min after this post. aside from a larger file size i can't really tell the difference in picture quality.
